DMickey - Do you feel more at ease with the decision to schedule a c-section? At my first OB appt, the OB recommened a repeat c-section due to the reasons DS was a c-section being likely to happen again. I think I am ok with that. I really don't have much desire to go through the whole thing again only to risk more complications and then end up having another c-section, or something worse happening.

    kt_mom - welcome!

ZPT - So true, all the pain is worth it in the end. Though sometimes they cause just as much pain AFTER they are born. ;) :upsidedow My son will be 3 next Monday. :goodvibes

Cici - yay! You are almost there! :yay:

hulagirl - I know what you mean about the weigh-ins. With the super bowl this weekend, I know I ate more fatty foods than I should have. :sad2:

I thought I had more comments but can't find them, so Hi everyone else! Stupid pregnancy brain already taking over. :headache:

I had a cold last week and now the cough is lingering this week, and everyone in my office keeps trying to force cough medicine/drops/tea on me. I am not ready to tell them yet, so I just keep telling them I already took something. ;)

Tomorrow is the big day and I'm freaking out here!!!

Lets see...I've cried today over trying to get the car seat in the car, shelves that my sweetie picked out that I didn't like, and my brother coming to pick up my son to stay with him so we can just get up early and get to the hospital tomorrow (We have to be there at 6:30 am)

I swear I'm losing my mind!!!

I am doing laundry like a fiend, and am taking a short break here before I go to clean the bathrooms. I swear I was not this nervous with my first one. I know better too... What gives?

Hi there! I still lurk on this thread even though my kiddo is 6 months old now :rotfl: But I just wanted to say that if you ever need someone to talk to or some advice I know exactly what you're going through. I was in the same situation as you and I am currently a single mom to my little boy. His dad just recently signed away his rights and has never even met our son. But honestly, he's a crappy person and that's fine by me! But we're around the same age (I'm 23) and your situation is pretty similar to mine. I know it can get lonely sometimes and it's nice to have someone to talk to who understands. I'm Veronica btw :) Congrats on your little girl, and PM me if you ever need to! I also occasionally post on the newest moms thread :goodvibes

Good Luck tomorrow!! Can't wait to hear and see pictures. Everything will be great ... it's a huge change. I am sure I will be like you in a few weeks. Did you go into labor naturally with your first? I am sure that's part of it ... Knowing what tomorrow brings rather than the unknown.

Pollito - I do feel really good about my decision for the repeat C-section. I had my heart set on the VBAC at first but logically the odds of it happening are slim and I was also really scared of going through all that only to end up with the c-section again. I also didn't think I'd like having THE DATE but I really do. I my mind I have 6 weeks left not 7!! If I go into labor before that (doubtful DS was 4 days late) I can make a decision at the hospital to labor and try a VBAC or just go straight for the c-section. I like that flexiblity. My doctors are great!! I knew when I made the VBAC decision but kept talking about it and questioning it that it wasn't the right one for me. I haven't questioned the RCS being the right decision since I made it last week ... that's key for me.

Good luck tomorrow!!! I think it's normal to get all worked up before hand. Everyone does to an extent but having that date and having time to get used to the idea that Baby WILL be arriving that day is a bit much to take in. I had inductions for both of my prior deliveries but one was a same day decision and the second one was decided on a Friday for the following Monday. I was such a wreck all weekend waiting for Monday. I was probably not fun to be around because I was such a mess about it and I distinctly remember not sleeping and being kind of crazy.

Again, good luck! I can't wait to hear how it goes! :goodvibes

Hope Cici and little Cici are doing well!!

My appointment for tomorrow has been cancelled due to the white crud that continues to fall from the sky. This was one I've waited for 2 months for! My level 2 ultrasound and meeting with the genetic counselor. I'm sad but understanding, but still sad lol.

Ok ladies, my first shower is Saturday! I'm super excited. It's in my hometown, which is several hours away, so we're doing it a little early. I'll be 28 weeks (well, I'm 28 weeks today, so I still will be Saturday). I'm trying to figure out what to wear. I already own this dress: http://www.motherhood.com/Product.asp?Product_Id=933790022&MasterCategory_Id=MC3

What do you guys think? Would it be cute? I could do black tights or purple tights. I'm not buying anything new for the shower, but I just can't decide what out of what I have I want to wear!! I was thinking this one since it will be fairly cold, and it has some color to it, instead of being all black, or just black and white.

Sorry that your appointment got canceled but better safe than sorry. Hopefully they will get you rescheduled quickly

That's a really cute dress, I'd wear that with some tights and a cardigan if you need the extra layer for warmth (can't tell how thick the dress is).

Super cute! I wore a dress to my shower and it ended up being really comfortable. I lucked out and didn't have to buy anything either. It was a dress that I already owned, pre pregnancy.

Cici - I hope everything went well! Can't wait to hear all about it and see pics of your new little one!

DMickey - that's good to hear about the RCS, I just don't feel comfortable with trying for VBAC either and it's kind of nice to be able to have a specific date set and then get everything arranged for Alex and time-off for DH ahead of time.

locolala - Sorry your appt was cancelled. With DS, my appt ON MY DUE DATE was cancelled due to snow. To say I was upset would be an understatement. I'm pretty sure I balled my eyes out and may have even gotten a little hysterical. It was time to get that kid out! :lmao:

Aurora - I think that dress is cute and should be perfect for a shower! :goodvibes

Ugh, I still have this stupid cough from the cold I had last week, and now I got a migraine at lunch today. :sad1: My co-workers are trying to shove cough medicine and excedrin down my throat and don't understand why I won't take it. I just keep telling them that I already took something, but it's apparently not working. :headache:

Does anyone have any tips for migraines? I took some tylenol and layed down in the dark for a little while. Now I'm sitting at my desk with my shades on. :cool2:

I had my weekly fetal assessment u/s today. I am 35W3d. Baby is measuring 65th percentile....give or take ??15% I think it is.
I am keeping my blood sugar under control but nervous about baby getting too big due to the gestational diabetes.

I've been getting more braxton hicks and I have a bit of a discharge the past couple of days. Sorry to be TMI but I am worried it is the start of something.

I told DH today no more BD til 37+ weeks.

The other day my midwife gave me my homebirth supplies which made me more nervous about this being a for sure thing...LOL

Not sure where we are having this baby yet....just taking each day as it comes and trying not to worry too much. But it's hard. After the assessment today the tech came out and took my husband aside and told him not to worry about everything, baby looks great.

I called my midwife to tell her what the u/s said even though she will get the report on paper. She said it is great. I also asked her about the discharge and she said that starts around week 36.

You are allowed to have a little bit of caffeine so maybe a coffee or tea with another tylenol?? I don't know, I have a lot of migraines and I just had to switch my prescription to something that's safe during pregnancy. It doesn't work as well as the other med I had but it's better than nothing. If you keep getting migraines I'd talk to your doc, some people get hormonally induced migraines.

It sounds like you are getting close! OMG, having the supplies there would make it feel so real for me. WOW!
