TinaLaLa, your Giselle dress and the Belle one are both beautiful! Please don't let that lady make you feel bad, some people just can't be happy enough to just say, wow, that's great. :sad2:

I'm in awe of what you did. I would have loved to have tried to conquer that Giselle dress. I'm petrified to try something like that (hense my calling around to buy it the other day) I just don't think I've got the skills to do it.

Your princess dresses are amazing! I'm sure your girls and the other little girls going with you are going to be over joyed with your dresses and they will be all the more special because of the love you put into them.

I hope you have a fantastic time at the P&PP. I can't wait to go in June. Please come and tell us about it!

Okay I've said it and now here's the proof. The Giselle Dress.

WOW!! That's gorgeous! My head hurts just thinking about working with that much of that kind of fabric. Great job!

oh yeah, well I took 7 years of french from Jr. High through college, so I thought I'd come up with some clever response in french and here I sit drawing a complete blank----:confused3 uh, je m'apelle Jeanne...probably can't even spell in french anymore either. I remember I used to read books in french and write reports in french :sad2: but you know what, I was also thin back then and went out with friends and slept in on weekends....:rotfl:

:rotfl2:

I hear you! I took 2 years in high school & 4 semesters in college & brushed up on it when we went to Paris in 2000, but right now most of it's gone. But like you I had no kids then & got more sleep...lots more sleep.

what pattern is this? I LOVE it! I have not seen that fabric before- except on here. So cute!

The top is the Portrait Peasant top and the pants are Simplicity 3740. Those are my favorite pants to make. I need to get a new pattern, I've almost worn that one out! I bought the fabric on :wizard: It's from Malaysia.

For some reason I had no 'multi-quote' buttons so I hope I remember this...

Heather, I love the Minnie dot dress - :worship: :worship: Giselle's dress (must be nice to have a Giselle dress :rolleyes1 ) - Cute HSM outfits, quilt and Mary Poppins!!

Now, this is what I made tonight. It was my reward for getting my house clean (inlaws are coming tomorrow) I can't wait for dd2 to try it on!!! I'll take more pics of her wearing it on Sunday. I plan for her to wear it to Church, but tomorrow I have to make bows and jewelry

th_Marieoutfit.jpg

Really cute! I love that Marie fabric.

Last night I brought the dress to dance to show the other mom's and one mom mad eme feel badly about how much I had spent on the fabrics. That I should have bought one from the Disney store to save myself the time. Hey we always bought from the Disney store and those dresses are nice, but I wanted something special. Funny this is the same mom who has her DD1's hairbows custom made to match all of her clothes at $10 a whack. The Ariel dress is for a girl who's mom can't find a dress in her size because she's a larger girl. The Cinderella dress is for a girl who's mom hopefully will be going and is dying of cancer, how special will this be for her! I'm just happy to surprise the girls with a custom dress that was made special for them. How great are they going to feel to know that they have a dress like no one elses. The princesses are going to say something special to them and how great that is going to make them feel. We are going to pick up a stroller at the PPP so we can put the dresses in there when the girls are on rides so don't think they'll be in them all night - I know better then that.

I'm sorry to rant about it, but she just really made me mad last night! I know here everyone is so suportive. My DH and I believe that every little girl is a princess and at Disney that's the place they get to show their true colors!

I don't blame you for being mad. Anyone who spends that kind of money of bows has no room to talk about anything you make.

The dresses at the Disney store are nice, but yours is one of a kind! There is not another one just like it in the entire world!!! But there are hundreds of girls wearing the exact same dress from the Disney store! I just wouldn't bother showing her anything else, she obviously doesn't appreciate quality customs anyway!

I finally finished the doll last night. I hate when I have to sew something I don't want to. I just wasn't in the mood to make this doll, but I was supposed to make it for Christmas so...

I'm not entirely happy with it. The faces are odd, but I don't embroider so they'll do. The ruffles happened because I had the dresses together and then found out that they were too short. I wasn't about to rip it apart & do it again esp. since I'd already done both sets of sleeves twice. I do like the hair though. Much better than the yarn hair I tried last time.

First let me say thank you to everyone who has said nice words about the dresses. I appreciate you positive energy. All of you have always been so kind. Each of us have produced some amazing clothing I am so honored to be apart of your group.

With that said here's my latest news.

MY SEWING MACHINE BROKE!!!! THE PEDAL WONT WORK SO I'M HAND SPINNING!!! I had to hem Giselle's shear ruffles before working on Ariel.

I'M HOPING TO BEG DH TO LET ME GO GET A NEW ONE!!! PLEASE SEND ME ELECTRIC THOUGHTS TO MAKE IT WORK!

Did I mention I have three weeks to make two more dresses, a sundress, shorts oh one more thing I have to do hhhhhmmmm:confused3 Oh yeah

I used to have dolls like this when I was little. Did you use a pattern?

Oh you definitely need a new one! :headache: Here's sending him good vibes!:goodvibes :goodvibes

I am in NJ too. We had 70 degree warmth to bask in today...I soaked up hours worth since we wont see it again for weeks. I hate NJ personally. Sorry if you like it. I hate it. I hate where I am living. I like rolling farm land (like Lancaster) and stores nearby and normal working non tatooed rule following nice people. Ok rant over...where was I? Oh yeah.....Sally Rally's outfit. Tell her she can get it but will have to wear a cartigan sweater over it  she may change her mind! :upsidedow

I hear ya sister!! I have a love/hate thing with Jersey. I love the Italian food! I love the loud boisterous people...I really dislike the frigid weather. I HATE the cost of living. It's ridiculous. We could live in a mansion in Texas for what we pay for a 3 bedroom house in Jersey. RAR! too cold.

Do you have a picture you could post of this dress???

It's a Children's Place outfit...sometimes you can find decently made stuff there...sometimes it's garbage. But the top is a yellow and pink paisley print chiffon-y ruffle-y top...the skirt is a dark pink. It's not a bad outfit per se...I was just more going for the preppy plaid look...or the patchwork bermuda shorts and a polo...y'know. Preppy cute.

i'm just bossy. I need to be in charge of clothes.

:goodvibes

Oh I definitely made this! I used Simplicity pattern 4764 - kind of. I used the bodice from this pattern and then just made a straight skirt with some changes. The accessories were mostly hand sewn after breaking my needle with DD8's Belle dress. This actually wasn't that bad.

This is to go along with the Belle dress I made for DD8.

IMG_0269.jpg

Now I'm working on an Ariel dress for DD8's BF which is going to be pink with silver accents. Then I have to make a Cinderella dress for another little girl who's going with us also.

These are all for the PPP we're surprising the girls with on April 23rd.

Last night I brought the dress to dance to show the other mom's and one mom mad eme feel badly about how much I had spent on the fabrics. That I should have bought one from the Disney store to save myself the time. Hey we always bought from the Disney store and those dresses are nice, but I wanted something special. I would never feel bad about spending money on my DD. I spent 55 dollars on fabric for a princess dress for DD I didn't even flinch when she told me the total. They are only small once and one day against our wishes they won't want us to do these things for them. :sad1:
The top is the Portrait Peasant top and the pants are Simplicity 3740. Those are my favorite pants to make. I need to get a new pattern, I've almost worn that one out! I bought the fabric on :wizard: It's from Malaysia.
Youcanmakethis.com has a pants pattern that is similar to the one you used and you can print it out as many times as you need and it has lots of different sizes included.

First let me say thank you to everyone who has said nice words about the dresses. I appreciate you positive energy. All of you have always been so kind. Each of us have produced some amazing clothing I am so honored to be apart of your group.

OK your DH HAS to buy you a new machine. I thought I was going to have to buy one last night (it just needed oil :lmao: ). I need to start maintaining my machine better.

Steph, have fun! Wish I was going with you!

That is very cute! Lily has just discovered Aristocats! :scared1: She REALLY LOVES animals!

And, this stupid snow stuff, I'm pretty sure it ISN'T going to end!!! We had more last night! I about threw a royal hissy fit when I saw it coming down. THEN it had the NERVE to stick and ACCUMULATE!! I mean REALLY! It's the end of MARCH! (That's a snooty for Winter, who just doesn't seem to know when he has outstayed his welcome!)

My boys have soccer games today and it is supposed to snow again :sad2: And they don't cancel soccer games unless the weather is REALLY bad, like no visibility.

That sneaky Miss Cammie has kept me up past 1:30am reading her wonderfully funny and entertaining TR!!
I'm laughing at the French thing because I was doing the same thing. I was trying so hard to think of a clever French retort that it made my brain quiver.
Yes, but do you also grab your children and make them dance around with you while you sing it? ;) I personally don't know of ANYONE who would do that. :rolleyes1

I would never do that to my kids. That is just cruel :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Forgive my ignorance, but can you pick up the coupons at Joann's or are they only mailed out? You can tell I am a newbie at the sewing, huh? Anyways, we are headed there this morning and I am praying they have a decent selection of Disney Fabric. If not, we'll head over to Hobby Lobby to see what they have. I am wanting the light blue Kids fabric for Epcot!

You have to sign up for their mailer to get the coupons. I had to sign up 4 or 5 times :headache: but that is good news about Teresa putting coupon links in her bookmarks! She rocks!

My favourite book in French was from grade four maybe, it was "Le Monstre de Lac Champlain". It was about a Loch Ness type Monster in Lake Champlain (it's between NY state and Vermont. Really dorky byt cute, and my family always camped on Lake Champlain, so I would swim around looking for the HUGE monster.
Is there every Christmas Disney fabric? We're going again this December, would be nice if there was . . .

They did have a couple of winter/christmas prints this past season. We have a timeshare at Lake Tahoe so we bought the kids the book about "Tahoe Tessie" (the monster of Lake Tahoe) they love it! Of course Tessie is very cute and non-threatening.

We're off to WDW on Monday! I'd made some new outfits and after seeing the fasntastic Peter Pan shadows top I decided I was going to make one of my own.

Got into the disaster of a quilt room, pulled out a piece of blue fabric and realized that if I did that I was going to have to make a skirt, too, and wasn't up for starting that at 9:30 on a Thursday night.

So I pulled a pink fabric out of the piles, pulled two more until I found one that I had 1/2 yard instead of 15 inches, and 'whipped up' the top to go with an existing skirt. The ruffle on the top doesn't match the ruffle on the skirt, but the fabric is in the skirt, so it's all good. I didn't put any stabilizer behind the applique because the top's already lined. If I just keep the fabric taut I don't generally get puckering. 2 1/4 hours from walking in the room to putting it on the floor for DD to find in the morning. Thank you steam-a-seam2 and ruffling foot! :worship:

Top's a bit wrinkly - when it was worn yesterday Aurora ended up with strawberries  on her face and it needed emergency washing last night.

pinktwirlauroratop.jpg

We all know that Cinderella's on the back of this pillowcase, right? So after 2 weeks of trying, I finally got a reservation at 1900 Park Faire for dinner next week. I could've made Cinderella...but had chosen Aurora because she's Kaitlyn's favorite...and now I feel like I have to make a Cinderella outfit. Which I don't have a skirt for, either. So now I think I have 48 hours to (1) make a Cindy top, (2) CASE the Peter Pan top, (3) make a blue skirt that works with both, (4) clean house (we've got company coming for 4 days the day after we come home, (5) pack for three, (6) laundry. (This is me going crazy: )

You sound just like me right before our trip! I was making hair bows and AK skirts into the wee hours! And I never got the matching doll dresses done :sad2:

How rude! Your dress is much better than the Disney store one! I almost feel guilty when I put Lily in her "store bought" Cinderella dress because then she looks exactly like all the other girls.

great color combinations on the marie outfit. Can't wait to see it modeled.

I feel so guilty that I haven't made anything for my 4 dd's. My dd has had some bad - I guess you could say side effects of her meds and we have been so busy with appointments and trying to take care of her. My sister took her last night for a break, but then my other dd had a friend stay the night. Loose one, gain one!

Then my in laws (both) are in the hospital. My DH cleaned marker off one of my twins with mr clean magic eraser and she got a bad chemical burn. We just got done passing the flu around for 4 days.

Story of my life. Who said stay at home moms stay at home eating bon bons all day watching the stories on tv.

Stories on tv? You mean Disney channel right? Because that is all the TV I get to see! :rotfl: Okay, I do DVR a few things to watch at night as I fall asleep, but no bon bons.

I finally finished the doll last night. I hate when I have to sew something I don't want to. I just wasn't in the mood to make this doll, but I was supposed to make it for Christmas so...

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: my sewing machine broke a couple of months ago. It was going to cost more than it was worth just to have it looked at, let alone fixed. I told DH a new machine was not an option, it was a necessity! Sending "New machine vibes" your way!

Hello all.

I have been lurking but not posting because I don't even have much time to lurk. But what I have seen is wonderful. Quilts and outfits and dresses and peter pan top :rolleyes1 wonderful.

Ok Emily update she got her cast off DR said X-rays look great we are free to go home have her take it easy for 3 more weeks. We get in the elevator and down stairs she reaches for my hand and lets out this horrible scream :scared1: so I carry her to the elevator and we go back upstairs to the DR and I tell him to fix it. I am not taking her home like this. Something is wrong. So he sends her to get a sling on. 20 minutes later we are back on the elevator. Her and her new dino sling. She insist on not taking it off. I finally got her to take it off for a while Tuesday night. And just yesterday was the first time she went all day with out it. Now she uses it no problem. :headache:
Now to keep her out of trouble for two more weeks.

I have been slowly working and a ten mile long pettie skirt from ycmt. I think that's what it's called. I have had to take it apart and cut and sew:eek: I am so worried it's not going to look at all what it's supposed to. Before I make her the one for her birthday I think I am going buy a ruffler foot. This hand cinching is hard. I also had to make two button holes:woohoo: I am so glad I tried auto button holes on my machine it was actually fun. But if and when I am done will post pictures.

Thank you all for the support with Emily. :grouphug: For all. Hopefully I can keep up with this thread I am already 6 pages behind on this one. And about 20 on the other one.

Now, this is what I made tonight. It was my reward for getting my house clean (inlaws are coming tomorrow)

I do the same thing which is why I dont get to sew much,,,, I have to finish all my other chores! But I just love :lovestruc the Marie outfit...its sooo cute. Can't wait to see pictures of it on! (That means dont forget to take them and post them :rotfl: )

And, this stupid snow stuff, I'm pretty sure it ISN'T going to end!!! We had more last night! I about threw a royal hissy fit when I saw it coming down. :scared1: Seriously, that is just ridiculous. Hey my friend just emailed me. We had a half day Thursday. So she wistfully starts looking up stuff about warm places and you'll never believe it. The book a 3 day vacation for the next day!!!! :scared1: She somehow packed everything that night and they flew out the next morning at 6 am to the Gulf of Mexico. Wow I am impressed. So....keep away from the computer....just think how warm you will be in May in FL!!!!!! ;)

Shhh...I'm hiding....remember...:
:sail:

I have the Disney Brother sewing machine and so I embellished a couple of pairs of jeans for my children the other day and I'm quite surprised and happy with how they turned out. I'll try to get the kids to pose for a photo.
 Ya thats how we all started off here...innocently enough....made one little thing..then another...then another....next thing you know...your addicted! Welcome...pull up a chair and enjoy! :welcome:

We're off to WDW on Monday! I'd made some new outfits and after seeing the fasntastic Peter Pan shadows top I decided I was going to make one of my own.

Gentle hugs:grouphug: for your DD. I never knew that magic eraser could be used ON the children before....hahahaha J/k! I hope the burn heals...ouch...and the flu passes and you get to at least sit on the sofa for an afternoon eating bon bons once before they all leave the house! :flower3:

Here's some pixie dust :wizard: pixiedust:

Ouch...glad she got a sling. I pulled an arm muscle and wished I had a sling...it really hurt for like a week. I think its all better now but I feel for her. Hope she continues to get better! :cutie:

I hear ya sister!! I have a love/hate thing with Jersey. I love the Italian food! I love the loud boisterous people...I really dislike the frigid weather. I HATE the cost of living. It's ridiculous. We could live in a mansion in Texas for what we pay for a 3 bedroom house in Jersey. RAR! too cold.
Yup! I agree :sad2:

Good news. My neighbor was kind enough to let me use her Singer so progress continues!!!

YES! DH agreed to go tonight to get a new machine - LOVE HIM:love:

Ok. So I am finally coming out of lurkdom here to say that you guys are awesome :worship: :worship: :worship: !!!!!!! You have inspired me to begin sewing for our Nov. trip to WDW. I have sewn in the past but noting like you guys! I bought a new singer because mine was literally 50 years old and could only do straight stiches. I got the simply sweet jumper pattern from YCMT and am trying it on some non-disney fabric first with a stripwork skirt. Wish me luck!:cutie: I will post pics if it comes out at all decent!

We're funny at our house about open pictures on the web - especially when you google custom disney and this thread shows up on the front page! I've heard stories about moms who get their scrapping published having strangers come up and recognize their kids and call them by name.:scared:

Lesson learned: When trying outfits on before your trip, take them back off again! DD's Alice in Wonderland dress, which we play in all the time, now needs repairs. A 'monster' came out and while we were roughhousing, "rrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiipppppppppp" as the skirt tore away from the bodice for about 8 inches. Now it's a belly-button peekaboo Alice dress! Back to the sewing machine!

Deb, 50 hours away from arrival at WDW!

Where are you located in MA? What kind of machine are you needing?
I dont know if this will help or not, but I live in CT and I could loan you my spare machine, its a little Jem Janome, it doesnt offer a lot of stitch options, but. Its mechanical, not computerized. I live in Brookfield and could drive up to Sturbridge MA- about an hour and half from me. Or Mystic CT- I always like driving there anyway.

The top is the Portrait Peasant top and the pants are Simplicity 3740. Those are my favorite pants to make. I need to get a new pattern, I've almost worn that one out! I bought the fabric on :wizard: It's from Malaysia.

are you sure thats the right number? I just did a google search on it and couldnt pull up a pants pattern with that number...
