Disboutiquers Part 4ish Kids Disney Boutique / Customs Clothes psst..we sew

Ok I am way past my bedtime reading CampbelScot's trip report (I had no idea she is so funny), but I wanted to wander over here and say the bunny quilt is the cutest quilt I have ever seen, the HSM outfits look great on, the Enchanted dress is beautiful especially with that butterfly and we are leaving for Disney Sunday! I decided today to make Epcot outfits! I will probably decide tomorrow that Megan needs something else too: I feel so panicked that I don't have enough new outfits. And it's past my bedtime so that's probably not helping. Good night friends!

Here's what I've been doing lately- not exactly dis-boutique, but done buy a dis-boutique doll! Sorry- it's all I have to contribute!

I still need to put eyes on the bunnies and sew buttons under their ties. I'll finish that up on the plane tomorrow and then I'll leave it in Utah with DD so she can get it quilted for me. When that's done, I'll sew the binding on, and it'll be finished. I'll post pics of it again when it's all finished if you'd like.

Do you think the way I arranged the squares is ok?? It's so hard to tell sometimes.

th_IMG_5396.jpg

WOW! That is fantastic! I barely have the patience to make a little outfit let alone a quilt. Absolutely GORGEOUS!

Okay I've said it and now here's the proof. The Giselle Dress.

Here she is doing her "Working Song" spin
th_IMG_0312.jpg

Excellent job!

That "Happy little working song" has been going through my head all day. Thanks for re-inforcing it! :rotfl:

We just finished watching Enchanted tonight and I have "That's How You Know" in my head. I'll probably dream it in my sleep tonight!

Okay, I got way behind in the last thread so I guess I'll just make it my mission to try and stay caught up over here in Part Four. Spring Break didn't allow me any computer time and I had a crowd for Easter but hopefully everything has settled down around my place and I can stay caught up again.

First, let me say "Thanks" to everyone that has commented on the quilt. I have just recently gotten back into doing this and am so excited about it again! I'm glad you all seem to think it's ok. Fabric matching etc. is really hard for me- so your cositive comment shave been really good to hear! THANKS AGAIN!!

Just wanted to say....

Have a GREAT trip to WDW and think of us on all the rides! We want to hear all about it when you get back!

wow...new thread already!!

hope Elisa doesn't get lost!!!

I'm sure she's lurking though!!:wave2:

wish I had something to sew...so I could post a picture...but then I would be embarrassed...b/c I can't sew...and then everyone would point and laugh...

I DID take Sally to look for a cute outfit for her birthday party...and the thing I've been worrying about has happened...she had a TOTALLY different vision for herself than I had.:scared1:

I could have just gotten an outfit that I liked, handed it over and said "here's your birthday outfit..." she'd have worn it. But oh NO...I took her with me to the store.

She picked out something I never would have...

And since I'm very bossy and controlling about these things I'm just torn over what to do!!!

I could tell her that the outfit she picked out is too summery and not warm enough for April.

Which is true.

It IS! It's still cold here...much too cold for sleeveless chiffon ruffles...yikes.

yep. that's what i'm gonna do. It wouldn't be responsible of me otherwise...

brrrrr...NJ is COLD!

*ahem*

:flower3:

love y'all!!!:goodvibes

My Jenna informed me yesterday that she needed at least two outfits for each day that we are going to be at WDW. :scared1: Well atleast we still have a month until we leave.

Thanks everyone! We had a lot of fun with the customs.

LOVE the bunny quilt!

Everything else is super cute, too (I haven't figured out how to quote and all that yet)

I took 1 year of French in high school, so I can read the last line!! :woohoo: I also have a dog named Pierre, so we are very French around here. :rotfl:

oh yeah, well I took 7 years of french from Jr. High through college, so I thought I'd come up with some clever response in french and here I sit drawing a complete blank----:confused3 uh, je m'apelle Jeanne...probably can't even spell in french anymore either. I remember I used to read books in french and write reports in french :sad2: but you know what, I was also thin back then and went out with friends and slept in on weekends....:rotfl:

Ok, I got my dds to cooperate, here they are modeling the HSM outfits.

Haha! Can't wait until my trip........WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Very cute, I'm so jealous of your trip! I was hoping to squeeze a quick Disneyland trip in when I go to my nephew's wedding in L.A. in June but it looks like that's not going to happen. On the bright side I did get DH to agree to our October/Luke's birthday Disneyland trip!   (I guess he forgot he'd previously said no :thumbsup2 :rotfl2: )

Okay I've said it and now here's the proof. The Giselle Dress.

I love it! You even did the butterfly! I was noticing that when I was watching the DVD the other day.

WOW! That is fantastic! I barely have the patience to make a little outfit let alone a quilt. Absolutely GORGEOUS!

Excellent job!

We just finished watching Enchanted tonight and I have "That's How You Know" in my head. I'll probably dream it in my sleep tonight!

That song has been stuck in my head since I saw the movie in the theater. I often break out in (loud) song singing that one and it drives my kids crazy.

and Karebear--I LOVE your quilt! The fabrics are TDF!! I have made a quilt or two in my day and I am impressed! Just one more project for us when we have a dismeet in my craft room! :lmao:

ok, but I CAN'T post pictures of my DD in the pettiskirt I made... she is still in her PJ's(No school today) LOL AND I can't apologize for it!

Hehe, good girl following the no apologizing rule! ;) If you post a picture, I guess we can let you apologize, if you feel the need!! But be warned that we will think your little model is gogeous anyway! ;)

(And, I hope everyone knows that the rules are very tongue in cheek!)

Hi All,

Ok so I came out of lurking only to change jobs and not have time to breathe. I am in LOVE with all of the outfits posted. I can't wait to check in and see what else you all have been doing. I hope to get my post count up so that I can share some of the work I have done lately. (although my stuff is simple compared to ya'll)

See you soon, keep the great outfits coming.
Lilysmommy
:welcome: Just post a countdown so you can post pictures! We don't mind at all! You only need 10 posts.
There's that Maxim-ish ad at the bottom of the page again! Why can't they post ads for online fabric stores on our pages?:confused3
I HATE that!!! What can we do to change that stupid thing? When we were all talking about diets, it did change to a diet add one day!
Why does this stupid Maxim type ad always pop up there?????

Okay, just because Teresa asked ;) here is Luke's new "haircut"

th_IMG_0024-1.jpg

at least there is nothing in his nose :lmao:

th_IMG_0023.jpg

Aww, thank you!!! He is such a cutie!!! And, I am glad there was nothing in his nose too!!!
Yay! This is fun!
This is a Snow White dress made for my younger dd:
th_allie3.jpg

This one kills two birds with one stone! My very favorite custom ever- Mary Poppins! My younger dd is wearing an appliqued Ariel shirt with matching twirl skirt:

Not the greatest pic, but the only Peter Pan I have in photobucket:

I have a couple more, just need to find them :) Thanks for looking!

I am so looking forward to the customs we find for Sept!

These are great!!!!! I really love the Mary Poppins and the Peter Pan!!! Your kids are gorgeous!!! I hope you post more pictures!

IMG_5396.jpg

It looks great Karen!!!
Woohoo! Finally caught up with the threads! I wondered if it would happen before a new thread was started! It didn't! *LOL*

Everyone's work is gorgeous! It's going to be a couple of months before I start sewing for a lovely little girl. She's 5 months old now, and I want to work on a size for 12-months for her to grow into. I think she's going to be a bit larger than average--her mother is almost 6 feet tall and her father is 6'6" tall. No guarantee which size genes are dominant at this point!

Not sure what I'm going to do yet, but that portion of the family is not Disneyfied. However, it could be Disney-light.

So I'll continue lurking and posting and commenting. :)

:welcome:
You'll have to ease them in to the Disney thing!
Hi there, I'm new here, I introduced myself in Part Trois.

I was wondering if I could ask a favour? I want to know if it's worth it for me to cross-border shop for my fabric, and since I'm just getting started, I need a lot!

What are the prices you're paying for Disney fabric in the USA? I would like to compare . . .

I'll check back after I finish my DD's Princess Castle cake for her 4th birthday party on Sunday. I'll even post pictures!

Merci Beaucoup les filles!

Heather allready answered you, I'll just say, I agree with her prices!

And, I am always saying "C'est moi!" to Lydia, so she says, "Moi!" And, she always looks a little confused!

Ok, I got my dds to cooperate, here they are modeling the HSM outfits.

Haha! Can't wait until my trip........WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

CUTE!!! I want to make Arminda an outfit out of that! And, Heather wants to make our neices something out of it! These look so cute!!! I like the shirt untucked.

Caity is too cute being silly!!!

Okay I've said it and now here's the proof. The Giselle Dress.

This is great! Was it difficult to make?????? I can't let Caity see this or she will want one!! She already is drooling over Heather's peter pan shirt. My daughter is obsessed with Peter Pan. She claims she is going to marry him one day. She knows he isn't real, but still..........she insists Peter Pan is her future husband!:lmao: :lmao:

Can I just say, I love all of the people on this thread? You are so very supportive and positive. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!:flower3: :grouphug: :cloud9:

:confused3 I am making a tulle tutu for a six year old anyone have a suggestion on long it should be. She wears a six 6-7 she is tall and skinny. I was thinking about having it like 20 inches (which means I would cut them 40 inches) Not sure any suggestions??

We were out ALL day today with my grammy- again! :goodvibes We went to JoAnns for .99 simplicity patterns, then to Mill end textiles (it was my first time in there)- :scared1: Yikes, I told my ds this is a dangerous store then he looked at me and said why is this a dangerous store? with a kinda of scared look on his face. I said because there are so many nice fabrics and I could spend to much money in here. OHHHHH he said not so worried anymore. Then to hancocks as my grammy was looking for specific fabric we had not yet found- Nothing so I said lets check walmart on the way home and sure enough they it. Then back to her house, washed and dried the fabric then cut out 2 shirts, 1 shorts and a romper/jon jon. Then we had to clean up and head home so I could get to work. I am "sleeping" overnight at a group home. When I was getting ready to leave dd said No bye bye mommy- ahhhh the guilt. I get done before they wake up, but still some night when I go to work they like to lay it on thick with the guilt.
I brought the tutu supplies with me so I can get those done tonight. I like having these overnights sometimes it is the only quite mommy time I get Hope everyone had a good friday. It was about 50 degrees here today!!! but more rain/snow is headed our way on monday :confused3 When will it end!!!

OMGoodness Steph, I dont think I have actually seen you all ruffled like this. Listen, you have plenty of customs. Heck, last year I had matching t-shirts for one day and I thought that was lots... . Just pack what you have and enjoy your trip!!!!! Take lots of pics for those of us living thru you vicariously! ;) I wont say goodbye yet cause I expect to see you tomorrow....go to sleep!!!! :goodvibes

Beautimous!!!!

wow...new thread already!!
And since I'm very bossy and controlling about these things I'm just torn over what to do!!!
It IS! It's still cold here...much too cold for sleeveless chiffon ruffles...yikes.
yep. that's what i'm gonna do. It wouldn't be responsible of me otherwise...

brrrrr...NJ is COLD!
I am in NJ too. We had 70 degree warmth to bask in today...I soaked up hours worth since we wont see it again for weeks. I hate NJ personally. Sorry if you like it. I hate it. I hate where I am living. I like rolling farm land (like Lancaster) and stores nearby and normal working non tatooed rule following nice people. Ok rant over...where was I? Oh yeah.....Sally Rally's outfit. Tell her she can get it but will have to wear a cartigan sweater over it  she may change her mind! :upsidedow

Ok, whatever we are talking about on this page is much nicer, since the little Google add at the bottom of the page is now for Ebay boutique clothes. Which, I find totally hilarious since WE can't post links to Ebay auctions, BUT there they are at the bottom of the page! (I am amused rather easily!)

Stephanie, have a great time!!! Remember, as long as you aren't taking Megan to the parks naked, you are good! She will look cute even if she doesn't have a custom for every day! (and I tell you this in hopes of convincing myself of that for my own girls as well!)

Now, get to bed!!! it is past your bedtime young lady!!!

oh yeah, well I took 7 years of french from Jr.

That has got me cracking up Jeanne!!!!

Je m'appelle Teresa. I use to write French papers and read French books too (although VERY small ones!) We read a book called "Les Jeux Sont Fait" which, I actually liked, and a little book called "En Vacnces". i

Yeah, totally off topic, and nope, not apologizging for it!

I could tell her that the outfit she picked out is too summery and not warm enough for April.

Do you have a picture you could post of this dress???

For some reason I had no 'multi-quote' buttons so I hope I remember this...

Heather, I love the Minnie dot dress - :worship: :worship: Giselle's dress (must be nice to have a Giselle dress :rolleyes1 ) - Cute HSM outfits, quilt and Mary Poppins!!

Now, this is what I made tonight. It was my reward for getting my house clean (inlaws are coming tomorrow) I can't wait for dd2 to try it on!!! I'll take more pics of her wearing it on Sunday. I plan for her to wear it to Church, but tomorrow I have to make bows and jewelry

I would cut the tulle a bit longer, since some of it will be taken up in the knot.

It sounds like you had a great day with your Grammy!!! That is so sweet!!!

Have a nice sleepover!

And, this stupid snow stuff, I'm pretty sure it ISN'T going to end!!! We had more last night! I about threw a royal hissy fit when I saw it coming down. THEN it had the NERVE to stick and ACCUMULATE!! I mean REALLY! It's the end of MARCH! :snooty: (That's a snooty for Winter, who just doesn't seem to know when he has outstayed his welcome!)

Cut out counts as halfway there, right?? :confused3

I love the Marie outfit!!! I am planning on making Lydia a Marie top very similar to that! Very very cute!!!

Well, I told Brian I was going to bed about a half hour ago, so I better go before he thinks I'm ignorning him! Night all!

Thanks Teresa- I'll go about 22 inches then. I have been trying to catch up I'm still behind about 5 pages- Just from today!! It was very chatty around here today :rotfl2:
Everything has been sew Awesome!!!

I am still holding out hope that by the time mothers day hits things will be a little greener around here!! Maybe!! We wanted to plant a bigger garden this year and grow some veggies- you know teach the kids where food comes from and all that. But come on the ground needs to thaw out for that to happen!!!:scared: Ok back to catching up- Good night ladies!!
