Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of using a Zyron? Anyone love it? What about hate it?

I have a 12" Xyron, bought it on e-bay several years ago - it was brand new. I love the Xyron - but wish I would have gotten a smaller one - because no one stocks the refills, and I have to get them on e-bay.

I would just check that the refills are available locally for the size you want.

I just bought the sm one 2 weeks ago to use with mesh and I have to say it worked out really well. If you have a big lots by you they are selling the refills for the bigger size zyrons but of course not the one I just bought....:(

I like to use mine for little punches and sizzix letters. I had trouble with the adhesive coming off in a little glob on the front side. A friend told me to press Cling Wrap on the front and it takes it off.

I have teh little x and love it. But I must have gotten a bad batch. I usually get the repositional and lately it isn't sticking! Not sure if it is because I am using heavy paper (bazzill) so I am going to start buying perm.

I have quite a few sizes of Xyrons... if you get a bad bunch call or write the company as they have awesome customer service...

I don't know of a con.,... the "goobies" that you sometimes get can be erased with an adhesive eraser very easily.

I couldn't scrapbook without my xyron

I adore my little X. couldn't scrap without it! maggie

We have a Xyron and the only trouble I have is trying out how to feed the small die cuts through without having them fall into oblivion somewhere---only to show up later ON TOP of something else.

Any suggestions?

What about permanent vs repositionable refills? How often do you actually reposition something? Any trouble with the repositionable not staying on? I don't want anything coming off later and am thinking of permanent.

I love my 510 and little X 150 and use both of them all the time. In fact I used the 510 for the shakers I made in the most recent Disney swap. I couldn't make the shakers with out it. I always use the permanent.

I'd say the only drawback is the cost of refills. I always stock up when they are on 40% off at Michaels or if I have a coupon and I can't think of a thing I need.

I have always bought repositionable adhesive for mine and haven't had trouble with it not sticking. I have the 850 which I don't think they make anymore and am having trouble finding refills for it.

hmmm anyone have the number for xyron (I don't have the box) my little X is not sticking to well. thanks

Don't know if this helps....we tried out a little X today at our church's crop. Seems the Xyron 510 I have stinks for those little parts! Anyway, the lady who owned the little X said after you take it out you have to press and rub over your pieces in order for them to stick well. Maybe try that ???

HTH!

YUP!!! That's what I do! Rub real good before you peel off the top layer!! (I only know that because that's what it says to do in the directions!!) ;)

I have the little X and love it for sizzlet ABCs. Thinking of getting a bigger one though. DisneyFreakJackie is right. Says right on the directions to rub the backs. Never had a problem and just put a new one in last night.

Thanks I will try that. I gotta get better at reading directions  I have not used the magnet maker on my 900 either. I must sit down one day and figure that out.
