Thanks for the spelling correction

my wife does zumba and i used to drink zima, but i dont know anything about zuma. sorry

I think the OP means Zumba :goodvibes

I've been taking it twice a week since the beginning of January. I LOVE it. It's a great work out, and I sweat more doing Zumba than I did when I ran 5K!

Alot of the fun of it depends on the instructor. Mine is fabulous, but I did go somewhere once where the instructor was a bit ho-hum.

It takes a little bit to follow the moves, but once you've got it, it's not too hard. There is a lot of twisting, turning and jumping involved, so if you have bad knees, you may want to figure out how to customize the moves so you can do them with minimal knee pain. The best part about it is that as long as you are moving, you are doing it! You go left when she goes right? No problem. Can't figure out the cha-cha? Just fake it. They just want you to MOVE and have FUN.

I have not tried the DVD's, but for me, sticking with a program means I have to GO somewhere and pay for it! That's just the way I am....;)

I have not lost much weight, but I have gained confidence. I need to work out more than 3x a week which is what I am doing right now. Until I work out 5 or 6x a week, I don't think the scale will move much. I'm only 10 lbs away from where I should be, so those are always the hardest pounds to lose!

Yeah, it's Zumba with a "b". I have been to a couple of classes and it's really fun! It's a really good workout. The music is loud and upbeat, and you just watch the instructor at the front. It's basically fast dance moves.

Mueve La Colita!!!

Try it. It's a blast - hardly any stress on the body and works the core area. You'll love it!

Is it good for weight loss??? I'd try the DVDs too embarassed to do it in public.

I tried it once and I looked like I was having a seizure!:rotfl2: My body doesn't move like that!

Don't be

It's a great work out. Fun and upbeat.

If you can't catch on to the steps, don't worry about it. Just do what you can and keep moving.

Zumba is a blast! I have been doing it for about a year. I miss it if I dont get to go 3 times a week!
Look for a class near you and give it a try.... then go again! You will get better and there are women of all ages and ability that go. Just have fun with it!!

I would like to try it but I don't know where to find it. I do cardio kickboxing and have been doing it for 4 years. I'll stick with that for now.

Before I went the first time, I was nervous about other people thinking I looked stupid. If this is a fear, don't let it be. They keep you moving so much, there could have been a 500lb gorilla next to me and I never would have noticed.
If you find a class, just make sure you bring water and a hand towel. You really work up a thirst and a sweat.
