Zombie Apocalypse and Pixie Dust - A 2 week Disneymoon (PTR link 11/14)

Isn't it like 4 in the morning where you are? So I'm just gonna blame this little bit of deliriousness on lack of sleep. :joker:
IT'S 3'oclock IN THE MORNING FOR ME! AAAAAAHHH! THAT'S IT YOU ARE DELIBERATELY ANNOYING ME! I swear to god....if it were humanly possible I would reach into my IPod touch and slap you around the chops with a salmon right now....

Claudia is adorable! Thanks for showing us the pictures, they are precious.

Great Disney update too!

Claudia is beautiful! I loved the photo session with the three of you, and thought it was clever he had the two of you crying along with her. :lmao:

Wow, how nice to have the photopass guy take the time to photograph the two of you in Canada. The photo's are fantastic. I love the waterfall in the background. What a nice way to end the trip! Great memories.

Your TR is one of my favorites; not only because I love the way you describe everything you and Ron did while on your trip, but also because you keep it real. I think adding the itty bitty not so wonderful times into all the great times truly allows us to be right there how it was. I know as wonderful as all of our trips to WDW have been, there definitely has been a few clunky times... times we laugh about now but weren't that funny then. :rolleyes1

Welcome back. Give peanut a hug from all of us on the DIS.

Looking forward to your next post. :surfweb:

Hi Mel!!! So glad you are back. The pictures of Claudia (and you guys!) are ADORABLE!!!

Love the update too. The garden and waterfall in Canada are so beautiful. I took tons of pictures of both in February. I wish I had seen a photopass photographer, you guys got some great pics from him!

I forgot if I already told you this. But for my trip I decided to get into PIN TRADING! After reading about it on other TRs, I decided to give it a try. It just sounds like fun to "hunt" for pins of a certain theme and a great way to interact with CM. I'd like to chat with CMs more, but I'm really shy. This will be a great ice breaker I think. I ordered a booster set from ebay last month. Since the pins seemed authentic, I ordered two more sets from the same seller last night. I can't wait to receive them!

Actually, we're the one who decided to cry like her for the pictures. The photograph thought we were crazy. :rotfl2: We just enjoy doing silly photos, as you may have guessed by now. ;)

Yes, it was nice of that PP guy to do that little photoshoot. Just a little pixie dust. I had never even been back there before, so I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the Canada pavilion is.

Awww, thank you so much! It means a lot to me that you say my TR is one of your favorites.:goodvibes And yes, as wonderful as a Disney trip is, it's not perfect. But it's okay, the bad times make us appreciate the good times more.

I give Peanut lots of hugs and kisses, and we'll let her know the next one is from you. :cloud9:

Hi Steph! Thanks! I'm glad to be back. :goodvibes

Canada really is pretty. I'm a huge fan of waterfalls, any kind of waterfall, so it's a plus that there is one hidden back there. I think there are more photopass photographer in busy times like summer.

Day 12 part 4 BEST PIZZA EVER!!!
August 22nd, 2011

Lets continue our exploration of World Showcase. We skipped France, but stopped to explore a country we had never set foot in, Morocco.

DSC03931.jpg

I dont know why we never stopped before. Its so beautiful!!! Here are LOTS more photos of this wonderful and colorful pavivlion.

DSC03930.jpg

I believe this is an indoor courtyard.

Tired yet? Hope not, 'cause I got even more photos!

We did some shopping in Japan, as Rons daughter is OBSESSED with this country and we needed to find a souvenir to buy for her. We didnt buy anything at that time though.

DSC03943.jpg

DSC03944.jpg

There really isnt much to explore in the American pavilion so we headed straight to Italy. Anyway, we had a lunch ADR to get to.

DSC03945.jpg

DSC03946.jpg

Im a huge fan of Italian food, including pizza, so I was very excited to try Via Napoli. We didnt wait long at all to be seated (it was way past lunch time by then), but I did have enough time to look up and take a picture of this very pretty chandelier.

DSC03948.jpg

The waiter nicely took this picture of us.

DSC03949.jpg

We were seated by a window, directly across the room from the great ovens.

DSC03950.jpg

DSC03951.jpg

Ron got some blood orange water, which he said was nice. Looks like I had sangria.

DSC03952.jpg

Another pretty chandelier. Never forget to look up, you can get some great shots that way!

DSC03953.jpg

Finally, it was time to get what I had been waiting for. Our pizzas! Rons pizza had onions, zucchinis, pepperonis, mushrooms and red peppers.

DSC03954.jpg

I ordered a basic margharitta pizza, to which I added red peppers.

DSC03955.jpg

OMG! It was the BEST PIZZA EVER! So juicy, and melt in your mouth good! I ate it all. Good thing it wasnt bigger, because Im sure I would have ate it all anyway and they would have had to roll me out of the restaurant. For some weird reason, Ron thought his pizza was just okay. Whatever. Clearly he doesnt know pizza. We finished our meal with a lemon sorbet to help digest.

We were both so full, we needed to do something restful. The boat that takes you across the lagoon was almost there, so we walked down to the docks and took it to the other side. What did we do once we were back in Future World?

Up Next, Chatting With A Princess

Damn it! That's ANOTHER pavillion that I've messed out on! Morcoro certainly does look beautiful though. Especially the courtyard it really does suit the Arabian vibe for the pavilion, the only problem is that it's pretty small and there's not a lot to see or do there. Same thing with the Americian pavillion or the patriotic pavillion as I like to call it, has only got one attraction there and that's it, I skipped that one completely.

I just CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF JAPAN! Seriously the Japanese pavillion is every gamer and anime freaks wet dreams! Hell I even got a Sonic the Hedgehog T-shirt while I was there and I LOVE that shirt!

Looks like I've found a reason to go to the Italian pavillion! Pizzas for the win! Mmmm pizzas! (Drools like Homer Simpson)

Hi Mel!

Hope you & the family are well :goodvibes

Great update - DH & I have an ADR at Via Napoli in October, I can't wait to eat there!

Emma princess: x

Great updates Mel! Claudia is so precious!

I agree, that pizza from Via Napoli is so good and I also ate the entire thing myself!! BUT, I am from NJ, very close to NY and there is no better pizza in the world than what you can get here. ;)

That pizza looks delicious!!!

I LOVE walking around the countries and just taking pictures of the architecture. You can find so many interesting things when you just explore for a bit.

Day 2 part 2 - That Giant Dog's Nose Stinks
August 12th, 2011

Even though we were just two adults, our next destination was the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground. What can I say, I love playgrounds and wish I was still a kid so I could play in them!

Those cut off grass thingy play some sounds when you step on them so Ron was a bit distracted while I was trying to take his picture.

137.jpg

138.jpg

Finally I got him to look at me.

139.jpg

We found the dog nose.

140.jpg

Walked around some more.

141.jpg

Went up the spiderweb. I love climbing!

143.jpg

And ended up our tour with taking a picture on the giant ant.

Yay!!! I'm glad I'm not the only one! :) Must be a teacher thing. I totally forgot about the dog's nose! I have to revisit that on my next trip; thanks for the reminder!

I think Morocco and China are the two most beautiful pavilions. I like the fact that it's small, feels more authentic. I'm not a big fan of the American pavilion. It is very patriotic as you said, and since I'm not American, it doesn't hold my interest. I wish there was more to explore there, like the others, instead of just one big building.

Ron's DD is a HUGE fan of Japan and Anime, so obviously that is her favorite pavilion. I like it too, just not as much. I like Canada because of the waterfall, the UK because of the rock concert in the back, France because of the yummy Grey Goose slushie, Morocco and USA I already talked about, Italy has the best pizza, China is pretty as I've said, Norway has a fun ride, and so does Mexico, as well as amazing air conditioning and a "night" atmosphere.

Thanks Emma. Yes, we are doing well. Hope you like Via Napoli as much as I did. Looking forward to reading about your August trip.

Thanks!

Even though there are many MANY restaurants we haven't tried in Disney, I want to go back to Via Napoli to get that pizza again. Maybe one day I'll make it to NY and try the pizza over there. Is it a thin or thick crust?

That was one of my regrets from our previous trip, not spending enough time in the countries. I'm so glad we took our time to explore this time. So beautiful!

LOL, must be a teacher thing, I agree. I LOVE playgrounds. In fact, I just can't wait for Claudia to be a little older so we can go to those places that have giant maze, slides, bridges, pools of balls, etc. I'll pretend it's for her, but really it'll be for me. :lmao:

Another Via Napoli lover here! I'm from NY so I KNOW good pizza, and this was it! Bob agreed as well! Gad to see another positive review! Before going we were scared due to all the bad reviews the dis gave it! Goes to show, you gotta try stuff for yourself!

Yay for Via Napoli fans! :cool1: I agree about trying it yourself. I've read several not-so-good reviews not only about Via Napoli, but also about Kona Cafe. Yet it's another favorite of ours, and we plan on going back there next time.

Yay! Oh World Showcase, you are so beautiful! Morocco is a country that I don't think I've really ever explored either! There's always a country or two that get skipped on my journey-ing! That pizza looks delicious! Yum!!

Oh my goodness lil peanut is so adorable! I also love your red-ey hair! Looks great!!

I think you should make it a point to explore Morocco on your upcoming trip. It's gorgeous back there! And you really feel like you are transported to another country, especially when you can't even see the lagoon anymore.

Thank you! The more days go by, the more in love I am with Peanut! My favorite part of the day is when she's on my lap facing me, cooing and smiling. :cloud9:

Life Update

This is just a quick post to let you know that my mom's health has taken a turn for the worse. As of yesterday the doctor has decided to stop all her medication (including insulin for her diabetes) and just give her morphine for the pain. When I saw her today she was still aware, eating, interacting with me and Peanut, but I don't know how long that will last. The doctor thinks she has less than a week to live.

I'm sad :sad1: , but also a bit relieved that her long fight with cancer will finally come to an end. All I can hope now is that she doesn't suffer and that she goes quickly. Please think of her.
