Zombie Apocalypse and Pixie Dust - A 2 week Disneymoon (PTR link 11/14)

Glad to see some pix of peanut and nice to see that you were able to settle on some cute bedding. Have you two started thinking of any names for the kidlet?

I have decided to buy the Libellule Baby Blue bedding set. :goodvibes Today I went to another store that sells it. That particular store offers several option, one of which is to buy the set with a thin blanket instead of a thick comforter, for 25$ dollars less. I was able to touch the thin blanket and it feels very soft. I was told by several new moms that the comforter is often to heavy to use with babies anyway, so I think it's a good option. Plus, we can always use the fleece blanket I just bought (from the Beautiful Butterfly set) if she gets cold in the winter. I'll just do a mix of both themes. They are the same colors anyway. I also like the fact that the Libellule brand is made in Quebec, so it's good to encourage local businesses. :wizard:

Yay for the pictures! princess:

That new bedding is adorable! It would definitely go well with your color scheme, and is girly without having to be pink :goodvibes

Thank you! For some reason pink just does not seem to fit my little Peanut, so I'm glad I found this girly set in turquoise. :goodvibes

LOVE LOVE the new bedding! So pretty!!!:goodvibes

The more I loook at it, the more I like it too. :lovestruc

I agree, I like it better than the other. How are you with DIY? Maybe you could find a pattern and make your own, or find someone who can? Have you tried Etsy?

I can't say I like it more than the other, but I love it just as much. I'm very glad I at least found some pieces of the other set, so now I will have a little bit of both worlds. :thumbsup2 I'm not DIY at all, and I didn't find anything I like on Etsy, but I did find a few more decoration items at another local store that would go well with both. One of them is a Tinkerbell decal. princess:

Thank you. I feel much more relaxed now that I've found bedding I like. :goodvibes

We've actually had names for years now! The only thing we found while I was pregnant was the middle name for a boy. Everything else was already picked. :lmao: If it had been a boy it would have been Kai Elias, but since it's a girl she will be called Claudia Jeanne. :cloud9:

Congratulations Mel! I thought for sure you were going to say boy!

We have a friend who's son's middle name is Elias...after Walter Elias, of course!

I want to see pics of you with your belly!

Thank you! I was quite surprise to hear we are expecting a girl, but I am over the moon happy. :cloud9::lovestruc

Of course that is where the Elias in Kai Elias comes from. Not only that, but as soon as we learned we are expecting a girl Ron started thinking about "what if we have two girls? We won't be able to use Elias! We need to find another way to incorporate Disney into a girl's name". Love that man! :goodvibes

We took pics of my belly this weekend, so I should upload them to my computer later this week, or next weekend at the latest.

Oh my! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the other bedding you found! I shoudl PM you back, but I'll just post here. Shipping would be $35 for the size/weight of the box it comes in. However, I get updates and coupons from Babies R Us all the time... so it is possible that you could purchase the butterfly set for 20% off, which would "pay" for the shipping.

That being said, I prefer the new bedding. It is just girly enough, and you could use it for boys in the future-- maybe without the paisley pillow and sheet, though. Then again, I don't really like girly things, so maybe I am the wrong one to ask! I would love to have all boys!

Thanks for finding out the info. It probably would have come out to almost the same price, but I went ahead and bought the Baby Blue bedding yesterday. The more I look at it, the more I like it. :cloud9: Plus, since I was able to find a few accessories from the Beautiful Butterfly set, I get to mix the two themes together. So I'm happy. But thanks again for offering. I doubt I'd use the set for a boy, but at least I'll be able to find a more boy set with similar colors when/if the time comes. :thumbsup2

Hey Mel, sorry I'm behind but I just read your comment on my wedding PTR and looked at your sig...it's a girl, yay!!!!!!!

Claudia Jeanne is a beautiful name...oh man, this is getting super exciting! I love when people are having babies!!! :goodvibes

Day 8 part 1 - An Epcot Morning
August 18th, 2011

By day 8 of our trip it was getting harder to get up in the morning, so we rolled out of bed at 7:30am instead of our usual 7am. It's okay though, we made up for it by only grabbing fruits (for Ron) and chocolate milk (for me) at the food court and making our way to the bus. For some reason I decided that this was a good morning to take a picture of the POP arcade, and the part of the lobby that is right in front of it.

We came in through these doors so often, on our to and from the buses, and even the food court. Our first day at Epcot had started pretty late, so we were glad to make it to the park 15 minutes before rope drop that day (not that there was much of a rope drop show to watch anyway). Our goal today was to hit everything Future World has to offer. And I do mean everything. But before we got to it we took the time to pose for photopass.

We followed the throngs of people to the Land, grabbed Soarin FPs and got in the regular line. I was curious to see what the queue looks like, but it was actually pretty boring. I did not even take one single picture! Plus, the games they have were not even running yet. At least I got to pass the time by helping a family decide in which order they wanted to visit their next few attractions. They were going to go do Spaceship Earth first and leave Test Track for much later!

Speaking of Test Track, that was the next attraction on our list. And I guess by that time I was awake enough to finally get the camera out!!

The standby wait time was already showing 50 minutes, so instead we hopped into the single-rider line. In no time we were in our separate cars. I wanted to check where the ride-photo was in order to take funny poses later on, so I waved to the camera.

Ron was apparently very focused on something.

We got some FPs to come back later and ride together. The wait time for Mission Space was showing 15 minutes, so Ron hopped in line for the orange side while I went to browse through MouseGear. Thank god that store is huge, because the wait turned out to be 40 minutes!

For some reason we came out of MouseGear from the back entrance and walked back towards the front of the park. As we passed by the Fountain of Nation we came across Mr. Penguin with a very short line. I had no clue what movie he was in (I've since learned it's Mary Poppins), but I love any and all characters so I got in line. Ron was already too hot to care.

We wanted to ride Spaceship Earth, but it had too long of a wait so we backtracked towards Journey Into Imagination. That was obviously a walk-on!
For some reason I was trigger happy so here are the many pictures.

Isn't Figment so cute?

Oh! Oh! Hold your breath!

Phew! That was a lot of pictures for such a cutesy ride. Here's one more, of the post-ride area. We didn't spend much time here, though we did try a thing or two.

DSC03428.jpg

Ok, so we really do criss-cross the park a LOT, as we walked aaaalllllllllllllll the way to Mission Space to get FPs for Ron for later, then walked aaaaaaallllllllllllll the way back to the Land to eat lunch at Sunshine Season. No wonder I lost weight on this trip!!!

I think I took this picture because there is a big spider on a web somewhere in the middle. Sorry to those who find that icky.

DSC03433.jpg

I got a Turkey Sandwich while Ron got Mongolian Beef.

DSC03436.jpg

DSC03437.jpg

My sandwich was just okay, but the key lime tart for dessert was very yummy. Once our bellies were full we grabbed yet another set of FPs for Soarin (because you can never do that ride to many times in one day) and got in line using our FPs from earlier. We got on the ride in about 10-15 minutes, which was our shortest wait ever for Soarin. I made sure to ask for row 1. We got put in section C (all the way to the right), so I tried to focus on different parts of the screen than I usually do. So many details to look at!!

Our visit of Future World was far from over. What pavilion would we visit next?

Up Next, The Relaxing Seas

Hey Mel, sorry I'm behind but I just read your comment on my wedding PTR and looked at your sig...it's a girl, yay!!!!!!!

Claudia Jeanne is a beautiful name...oh man, this is getting super exciting! I love when people are having babies!!! :goodvibes

Don't be sorry for falling behind. You were in WALT DISNEY WORLD!!!!
Thank you. I love the name we picked so much. I have a feeling she's going to be a really sweet and calm girl, but with a tiny little bit of a "rebel" side like her mother. princess:

Now that you mention it, the line for Soarin' is a bit borin'. I hadn't even thought about it before now.

You two really were doing some back and forth action. We did that once and I was worn out by lunch time.

Your pics of Epcot have got me excited, since I will be going there on Monday! :goodvibes You definitely did do a lot of criss-crossing the park!

You are so right. That line for Soarin' really is dull! That's why I put up the picture of Brynn literally swinging from the poles in line; yes, I made her stop, but I couldn't really be mad at her...what else was there for her to do!?! She was just making her own fun, I guess. I like the lights in there, but the line is basically just lights and poles until you make it to the pre-flight.

Thanks for that picture of the sandwich. That's one of the things I've thought of getting when I read the menus online. What about it was "just okay?" Is there something you didn't enjoy?
Yes, I obsess over turkey sandwiches:rotfl:.

And on a baby sidenote, I think the blanket was the way to go. For the first year she will probably be in a sleep sack or thick PJs if she's cold, and after that the comforters are really too stiff to be a comfy cover. Sawyer's comforter is on his chair. When he's in his crib and not in our bed (he's been there constantly the last week--yay, teething:rolleyes:--but usually now sleeps the first good chunk in his crib and the rest with us), he sleeps with the blanket that goes with his crib set. It is a billion times more snuggly. Also, I made wall hangings from his bumper pads since they always come with the set even though you aren't supposed to use them:idea:. I just cut out parts I liked and put them in those cross-stitching hoop things and hung them on the wall!
Done rambling.

I love the blue bedding you picked out, and Claudia is such a beautiful name! :goodvibes

Yay, Epcot update! I'm SO jealous you met the Mary Poppins penguin. I've been trying to find one of those stupid penguins for years and they are NEVER out. My friend is in Disneyland right now and she just met Mary, Bert, AND a penguin all at the same time. Jealous. :rotfl:

Wow you guys really do crisscross the park a lot! We do too, we have such an awful touring style, but whatever, I can't follow some strict plan, even if it would maximize our time in the parks, I like to do what I want, when I want! :thumbsup2

You guys were getting a lot done! Jealous that you saw the Penguin, very cool.

Love the baby bedding, and I'd go with just blankets as well. We never used the comforter at all.

Good update, Mel. I've never been on Soarin' but I'll take your word on the queue line for it anyway. You met a Penguin waiter from Mary Poppins infront of the fountain? I didn't even think they met there I thought they only meet at DHS for the late afternoon meet and greet. Well whatever expect the unexpected as they all say anyway.

Awww! I love the bedding! Congrats on your little princess peanut! :goodvibes

Love the update, too. Sorry I have been a little MIA. I had to work the next day after my flight got in and then I had a full week of work, followed by a busy weekend and more work. But enough about that. The picture of the penguin is so cute!

The Soarin line is probably a bit more fun when the games are on, but not that much. Too bad, as it really is a line where you spend a lot of time not moving.

I hadn't realized how much back and forth we had done, until I reread my notes to write this update! No wonder we kind of hit a wall the next day... But I'm getting ahead of myself! :rolleyes1

Your pics of Epcot have got me excited, since I will be going there on Monday! :goodvibes You definitely did do a lot of criss-crossing the park!

You are already at POP as I'm typing this! :cool1: I hope you have a great Epcot day!

Thank god we did a lot of jogging and walking all summer in preparation for that trip! It sure help maintain our stamina with all the criss-crossing we did!

Yes, I remember seeing that picture in your TR. I can totally see kids being bored in that line. I'll have to think of bringing something to keep Claudia entertained when she gets old enough.

I'm not a big fan of sandwich, or at least of cold meat in sandwich. Neither is Ron, which is why we don't have any interest in trying Earl of Sandwich. So please don't take my word for it, it might have been a great turkey sandwich? :confused3

Thanks for your point of view on the comforter. It seems that every mom I talk to says the same thing. The think blanket it comes with is pretty soft. Plus, we bought a super soft fleece blanket at well, so I'm sure Peanut will be all set for a while, with that and the sleeping sack or PJs.
