Zombie Apocalypse and Pixie Dust - A 2 week Disneymoon (PTR link 11/14)

I love the blue bedding you picked out, and Claudia is such a beautiful name! :goodvibes

Yay, Epcot update! I'm SO jealous you met the Mary Poppins penguin. I've been trying to find one of those stupid penguins for years and they are NEVER out. My friend is in Disneyland right now and she just met Mary, Bert, AND a penguin all at the same time. Jealous. :rotfl:

Wow you guys really do crisscross the park a lot! We do too, we have such an awful touring style, but whatever, I can't follow some strict plan, even if it would maximize our time in the parks, I like to do what I want, when I want! :thumbsup2

Thank you and thank you. :cloud9: Being a teacher, it's really hard to find a name that I haven't seen much or have a good/bad memory attached to it. But I've actually never taught a Claudia, and really haven't come across a lot of adults with that name either. :)

It really was pure luck that we met Mr. Penguin. He was meeting at a totally random spot at a non-advertised time. Plus, I think they closed the line after me. I felt a bit bad for not knowing who he was at the time though. :upsidedow

Even when we tried to follow a plan and keep to a certain area for a while, we would always end up wanting to get or use FPs, for something at the other end of the park, or eat somewhere that was so not close. At least we stuck to only Future World for quite a while. But hey, it works for us, and luckily we are still in enough of a good shape to be able to do it, even in the summer heat. Disney vacations can be fun AND promote being active! :dance3:

You guys were getting a lot done! Jealous that you saw the Penguin, very cool.

Love the baby bedding, and I'd go with just blankets as well. We never used the comforter at all.

We are true commando tourers. We tried to relax as much as was humanly possible for us, but most of the time we were go-go-go. We'll have to adjust to a totally new touring style next time we go, now that we'll have a little one in tow. :goodvibes

We met so many characters during that trip, both planned and random. It was a lot of fun. :wizard:

Thank you. I'll add you to the list of moms who make me feel like I made the right decision. :thumbsup2

Good update, Mel. I've never been on Soarin' but I'll take your word on the queue line for it anyway. You met a Penguin waiter from Mary Poppins infront of the fountain? I didn't even think they met there I thought they only meet at DHS for the late afternoon meet and greet. Well whatever expect the unexpected as they all say anyway.

You've never been on Soarin? You have got to change that next time you go! It's such a cool ride. Not a thrill ride by any standard, but just fun. Ron and I always get out of there with a smile on our face. Even just listening to the music at home boosts our spirit. :goodvibes

Meeting Mr. Penguin was a totally random thing and pure luck. He just happened to be at the Fountain at the particular time we were walking in front. In fact, it's the only time we ever saw a character in that spot.

Awww! I love the bedding! Congrats on your little princess peanut! :goodvibes

Love the update, too. Sorry I have been a little MIA. I had to work the next day after my flight got in and then I had a full week of work, followed by a busy weekend and more work. But enough about that. The picture of the penguin is so cute!

Thank you! I am so unbelievably excited to be expecting a little princess. princess:

Like I said on your TR, you have a totally good excuse for being MIA. First, being in Disney sure beats being on a Disney forum. :wizard: Second, work is a necessary evil to ensure more trips to Disney. :upsidedow

Day 8 part 2 - The Relaxing Seas
August 18th, 2011

DSC03441.jpg

Yesterday's update (be sure to check it out ;) ) was mostly word oriented. We took about 30 pictures to cover the first 3 hours of our day. Boy did we make up for it though! During our next 90 minutes we took close to a HUNDRED photos! I was able to eliminate several that were too blurry, but it'll still take 2-3 updates to cover it all. Where were we headed you may ask? To Ron's favorite pavilion. So where does a guy who loves thrill rides prefer to spend his time in Epcot?

DSC03438.jpg

DSC03439.jpg

That's right! Ron LOVES The Seas pavilion and its serene atmosphere. Since we had been go-go-go all morning, this was the best place to relax for a little while. The music, the fish, it's all so calming. Plus, the AC sure helps too!!

The posted wait time for Nemo was about 20 minutes so we headed inside.

But as you can see...

DSC03444.jpg

the line...

DSC03446.jpg

was completely...

DSC03448.jpg

Empty! It did not even take 5 minutes to get on the ride, and this includes walking through the very long queue.

DSC03450.jpg

Some of the next pictures are kinda blurry, but just enjoy the show!

It is such a cute ride! We enjoy it a lot and find it a great place to kick off our feet and relax.

After we exited we took a look at the Manatees exhibit.

We spent a lot of time in

Day 8 part 2 Cont'd - The Relaxing Seas (2)

Let's continue our visit of the underwater observation areas.

This dolphin looked so sad! He spent the whole time there, because there was a dolphin in the other tank and he/she wanted to join him/her.

DSC03483.jpg

We tried to take a photo of the other dolphin who was swimming around, but we failed miserably. I will spare you the very blurry pictures. Instead, here are more corals and fish.

DSC03485.jpg

DSC03486.jpg

And a hidden Mickey.

What we did succeed in, was taking a picture of fish "kissing". So many of them were doing it!!! It was so cute/funny!

We saw a shark.

I will stop here. More underwater pictures to come next time!

"Totally Awesome Dude!"

I love finding nemo as well and those crazy seagulls outside....mine,mine,mine.

I love those seagulls too. I even stayed in front of the ride for quite a time with my camera ready, wanting to film them while saying "mine, mine, mine!".

great pics of all the fish and coral....did you 2 go over to soarin after the aqaurium?

Thanks. I do find a lot of the pictures kinda blurry, but we did get a few good shots. We had already ridden Soarin twice that morning and had FP for later, so after spending time in The Seas we continued our exploring of Future World. :)

Finally caught up with the days I missed :goodvibes

Funny you say that about choosing a name for your little princess and being a teacher! I was a teacher (until having kids) and when choosing names for our kids, it was all about whether or not I had taught a "Bob" or "Susie" (not the names we chose) and what memories I had of that child. There is ONE name (and I won't write it here for fear that I will offend someone) that I would never, ever, ever name my little boy. Every little boy that I taught with that name was AWFUL! :lmao: Claudia is a beautiful name!!! I have known one and she is an absolute gem:goodvibes

Love, love the Living Seas! It is so calming and one of my family's favorite places in all of WDW.:cloud9: Nemo is our very first ride when we arrive and our last ride before we leave.

Ok I'm starting to read so let's see if I can be good at this quiz.

I love the Maharaja jungle trek. I especially love going early in the morning. It's so empty earlier in the day that it almost feels eery.

Awe, I miss my Timon. I need another pic with him. (With the character, not my cat hehe)

Great updates, Mel! I think I am all caught up now on what I missed while we were at Disney. :goodvibes

First off, I LOVE the name you've chosen for your little princess! Claudia is so pretty - classic, but unique at the same time. And I love the bedding you ended up choosing! She is going to have a lovely nursery!

It looks like you two were having a lot of fun at Epcot! We tend to do a lot of criss-crossing the parks, too. Gotta get those fast passes! :lmao: I understand what you mean about having a harder time waking up early towards the end of the trip. That happened to us last week as well!

That'S what's great about WDW. You can enjoy yourself even when you're not with someone. My mom often go our separate ways from time to time. It lets us do what we want and gives us "alone" time.

I'm sorry about your mom. I hope she is well.

Wow you guys are troopers for being able to stay at MK past 1am. I've never done that. And I don't know if I will hehe

Eek! I'm all caught up both on Dis & REAL LIFE. EEEEK. Congrats!:woohoo: It's so exciting to be having a little princess in your life sometime soon! I can't wait to have someone to share the magic with and watch their little face light up! Ack! So magical! I loved the updates, I feel like Epcot is such a relaxing park, you really can take your time through the Seas/Land pavillion, and WS, I enjoy it!

I haven't seen the lanterns at the botanical garden in years.

I need to go back! Just one of those things I always say I'm gonna do and never have the time to.

I'm so jealous you got to meet the Queen! I have never met the meanies except Hook. Oh well.. more reasons to go back lol

Ewww huge spider. Get that away from me!

How did you manage to find how these hard to see characters lol Mary Poppins is one of my faves!

Being a teacher really narrows your list of possible names. But I do agree that it can get touchy when you associate a name with "bad", then you meet someone and that's how they named their kid or the name of their husband.

The Seas really is a very calming place. It's Ron's favorite place, but I love it too! Though I do keep Nemo for busier times of the day.

:welcome: Glad to see you here. You got 4.5 points.

I love the Maharaja jungle trek. I especially love going early in the morning. It's so empty earlier in the day that it almost feels eery.

I find Animal Kingdom the hardest park to plan for because a part of me wants to enjoy the animal related things (Planet Watch, the treks) early in the morning, but part of me can't let go of the commando in me and wants to focus on attractions first.

Awe, I miss my Timon. I need another pic with him. (With the character, not my cat hehe)

It would be so fun if Timon still did meet & greets. Oh, and your cat Timon is absolutely adorable!

Welcome back! Hope you had a great trip!

Thanks! Claudia was the name of my great-grandma, yet it doesn't feel "old" like other names. I like how you say it, classic but unique. :goodvibes Ron is not into the decoration at all, but I cannot wait to see her nursery all put together! It's so much fun shopping for furniture and decorations.

Yep, gotta get those FPs. Ron and I were discussing how our touring of the parks will change with the enforcing of the FP return time, and it looks like the criss-crossing won't stop.
I LOVE being at the park early, but I also love sleeping in and after several days of hard core touring, the appeal of sleep just gets greater and greater. :upsidedow
