amazing Morimoto Asia ribs which are pork ribs, cilantro, and hoisin sweet chili glaze.

As a non rib person I am so happy I tried these and super happy they're still on the reduced menu.

lazy Susan took center stage as it collided with Brer Frog from the Hey Butt Cheek gang for a trip around our Morimoto world.

OMG this was hysterical!

But of course the ever illusive 10 forky's for time with our wonderful friends.

Such a fun night! Just stunk that it was our first and your last but fingers crossed for another one like this in Nov. ❤

Happy August or as it is known in our house: My birthday month.

and since its been almost a year to the day since we endeavored on this little trip of ours

Oh my gosh, how is that even possible?? I'm glad you've dragged out this report though

I would finally write about our last Disney meal.

We'd last left off with drinks at Jock's Lindseys with the fabulous Ariella aka @StarWarsMomofGirls! and the artist formerly known as @ariane37.

We shall call her ❇

They are so good my notes officially say "ribs YOMMMMMM" which clearly means they are YOMMMMMMMM.

Casey branched out on her own and went for the spider roll which is tempura soft shell crab, spicy mayo, cucumber, and asparagus.

Once again proving that your 10 year old eats more like an adult than me

we ordered the Seafood Crispy Shanghai Noodles with jumbo shrimp, scallop, calamari, seasonal greens, garlic, and shio dare sauce.

Thanks so much for your fun trip report! I've enjoyed following along. Unfortunately, we also had the same experience last August at Morimoto Asia. It was okay, but not great. Look forward to your next trip report and so sorry about the loss of your sweet pup.

Sorry Morimoto wasn't that great. I think I'm going to cancel that one in September and book something else.

It's been great when we've been there in the past so it was really disappointing. I'm sure we'll do it again but we'll let it marinate for a while before we do. If you haven't been you should give it a whirl. Those ribs are worth the trip even if everything else wasn't grat

Sorry the food wasn’t up to par but loving the lazy Susan videos . Watch out Spielberg indeed!

The are quite the budding Director's. If I remember right I think dinner was like 2+ hours long so thank goodness for that lazy susan and the videos to keep them occupied.

So, I have not been on the dis in FOREVER!!! And as fortune would have it, I jumped on tonight!

I'm right there with you. I've been getting on like maybe once a week or so and barely at all but wanted to jump back in the deep end. Hopefully our trip in October/November holds cause I need some Disney in my life.

AHHHH! Yes, the sushi that Gwen had CLAIMED she was going to eat....

I totally forgot about that. Wasn't she going to eat whatever Casey did? Pretty sure that went out the window as soon as Casey went the sushi route

I love this picture of the two of them! They seriously look like life long buds. Gwen just asked me yesterday, if I thought we would be able to go to Disney at the same time as Casey again. I said I sure hope so!

They certainly do. Just like their Mama's bonded by Disney Pretty sure Casey now just expects Gwen to be in Disney when she is so we'll definitely need to make sure we have some overlap again.

Thanks so much for following along. Sorry to hear you all had a bad experience at Morimoto too. It was so good on prior trips I'd hoped it was a bad night, but maybe we can just chock it up to a bad month. I mean I'm sure they were distracted by my imminent birthday and all.

I am so behind the here but just caught up so random thoughts and reactions:

1. I'm so sorry to hear about your sweet Duval but what a joy to have had so much time with him, and that extra time at the end. There's nothing I can say to salve the hurt of losing a beloved pet but I hope you guys have found some peace and comfort in the ensuing weeks.

2. Casey looks so much older in your July 4th pics than your DR pics - wild!

3. I will gladly go drinking with you any time. I have serious credentials (a young liver and a passion for judging other people...especially if they use tablecloths as sweaters).

We are all soft shell crab fans in our family and even better if its in sushi form. We head to the beach in a few days and I'm so hoping we can get some fresh ones.

She is growing like a weed. She grew an inch from February to May alone so she's probably at least 2 inches taller than last August. She's getting more and more mature as the days go by and I just wanna hold onto my baby forever

Georgia On My Mind

Greetings from our socially distanced summer vacay in North Carolina. It is as quiet as quiet can be here and we are enjoying some family time in our beautiful new backyard.




I cannot believe it but a year ago tomorrow we were leaving Disney and headed to see our best friends in Savannah. It was an easy four hour drive and soon enough we were in the land of live oaks and southern drawls.

I was out of Disney dining and fully in birthday mode so not a lot of food pics but here are a few nuggets.

Pre-Birthday drinks at Rocks on the Roof.

And pizza at Vinnie Van GoGo's.

It certainly wasn't Via Napoli but it hit the proverbial carb spot.

On the National Holiday that is the day of my birth we had brunch at Collins Quarter where I celebrated in the most traditional way.

Bloody Mary's and Creepy Clowns of course.

We walked around the city for most of the day and even found some movie sets where they were filming for a new Amazon show about the Underground Railroad.


Of course walking around in August in Savannah does require the occasional cool off.


That evening we headed to another rooftop bar, Perch, where more merriment ensued.



Ok maybe some of us were more merry than others.

Eventually it was time to say Bon Voyage to Savannah and our blissful trip 12 day trip.


We flew home not knowing it would be a year before we would get to see a vacation again.

Thanks to everyone for following along on our forking good dining adventures and apologies it took so long to get this done. Between life and not wanting my Disney magic to end I certainly slow rolled this one. We do have our next trip planned for late October/November, and provided Florida is in better shape by then, it will hopefully happen and I'll have more to share. Till then in the immortal words of my spirit animal Forky "I am not a toy, I was made for soups, salads, maybe chili, and then the trash."​

In other news, I booked Hilton Head for March Break and am planning a day in Savannah so must bug you about restaurants. I mean if it's not too much trouble....I know you hate talking about food.
