Zenni Optical, 5 pairs of glasses just arrived!

Thank-you, i used the 54 as he does wear them all the time!

lisa

If your son needs to wear the glasses full time then you would use 54. If he just needs them for reading then you would use 52.

I work in an optometric practice btw! Hope that helps!

the lens on the pair I ordered is polycarbonate.

From their website

Lenses & Lens Materials
All of our Single Vison, Bi-Focal and progressive bi-focal lenses are premium-quality high-index Polycarbonate composite polymer high-impact resistant lenses with full UV protection and a special strong anti-scratch coating.
.
Sunglass tint is available for any of our glasses for $4.95.
Premium Anti-Reflective plus Anti-Radiation coating, a very highly recommended upgrade, is only $4.95 extra.

The anti-reflective & anti-radiation coating is great for night driving and Computer use. They minimize annoying and dangerous reflections and glare in night driving and reduce glare from computer screens to prevent eye strain. Also Anti-reflective coating greatly reduces the external reflections on the lens surface which would mask the eyes, making for a much nicer cosmetic appearance.

Oops...I missed that part. From the info on the first page I didn't get that! Guess I should have read more before I posted that!

Just curious, how long did it take for delivery? I want to order some sunglasses before my cruise....

thanks

You are very welcome! :)

I ordered mine on the 16th and received all five pairs packaged together on the 25th so... 9 days! :goodvibes I think I read somewhere to allow two weeks for delivery.

Can you PLEASE help me - i'm about to order two of the 8.00 glasses for my 8yr old son the prescription is below - he has astigmatisim but my question is i just got his PD measurement from the optical store and its 54/52 - which # do i use?

thanx

lisa

Hi Lisa! I would call Zenni's customer service and ask (or else email).

My husband bought an expensive pair from well known chain once (not Zenni), and even though they measured the PD correctly and had the right prescription (thier doctor prescribed it), the PD was not correct on the actual glasses and he could not see correctly (correction... he just said that he could see, it just wasn't "crisp", it was not perfect) and he kept getting a headache when wearing them. He complained, but as his eyes had changed a little, they initially told him he would have to get used to it. After a couple of weeks we went back and the Dr. realized what was wrong!

Being an adult, DH knew something was a little off, but I am not sure an 8 year old would. That scares me a bit! :worried: If it were me/my son, I would call Zenni and ask exactly how that should be noted/ordered, to ensure that they are correctly made!

I did send an e-mail!

On the PD issue...Zenni optical would not be able to give him a PD, so if you're hesitant about the PD at all I would double check at the dr's office or optical you purchased glasses at. Taking a PD is a very simple measurement, so usually if the PD is wrong on the glasses it's because it was written down wrong when ordering or they were cut incorrectly.

My glasses arrived today and I am thrilled! Great quality, and they were so inexpensive! I ordered a pair of sunglasses, and an $8 frame pair. Both are excellent! :cool1:

:cool1: That is awesome! I am thrilled with mine as well! What frames did you order (yep... I am nosy)!:rotfl:

I purchased a single pair (was skeptical too, as I have requied glasses since I was infant for severe nystagmus and astigmatism). I finally got my first pair of rimless glasses. They are WONDERFUL!! I have had them for 2 years. I' plan on getting a tinted pair of what I already have. Very impressed that a discount eyewear dealer was also of good quality. My store bought $200 "low end," full-framed glasses didn't look near as good as my rimless titanium Zenni's!!

This might sound stupid, but would it be possiable to get "real" pictures from the people who have ordered from here of their glasses? I have looked on their site and it's one thing to look at their pictures and then to see a "real" picture of the glasses. LOL!!! I know that the frames might not be what I might pick, but at least it would give some idea on how they are made.

I need to get another pair for a spare and don't want to spend alot of money. My little ones loves to pull my glasses off and one of these times I'm afraid he is going to break them when my eye doctor isn't open to fix them or worse yet, wouldn't be able to fix them at all.

Another thing is, I have had my glasses for awhile, more then a year less then two, and I don't have my prescription. Any idea if I call my eye doctor's office will let me have my prescription?

TIA!! :)

funny this should show back up I just ordered my first pair today from this place for $8.00 frames for sunglasses my total cost out the door was $24.00 there abouts

An adult script is usually good for two years (kids 1 yr)so you just call and they legally have to write it out for you. The new secretary where I go gave me a hassle at first, but when I stopped in to pick up and everyone else in the office was so friendly with me she got the picture really quickly when she opened the folder and saw I had spent nearly $1000 (after insurance and I have good insurance) in the last month and a half between myself--prescription no line bifocal designer framed sunglasses (wish I had known about this before I spent $379)and designer frame regular no line bifocal for daily use, sons designer frame reading glasses--yup could have and should have gone to the rite aide for them but he needs them at school so you gotta do it, and DD's new designer frames and lenses as well. Once everyone was asking about the kids and stuff she couldn't have been nicer.
I ordered 2 pr for DD, a backup a nd a pair of sunglasses. I ordered on the 26th any idea how long it might be before we get them? If I like them I think I may order a few more pair for myself and DH--poor DH has not had new fromes in three years I think he feels bad about gettign new ones hfter I paid so much for my sunglasses--but I couldn't read a map when we were in Nassau so I really did need them.

This is perfect timing as I am due to get a new contact exam. I hate the glasses I have now so I think I'll order a pair or two so I can have a spare pair at work. And SILs mom was just complaining about losing her expensive glasses for like the 3rd time this year and how she refuses to get another pair. I think I'll hook her up too.

Thanks OP!! Just another reason the DIS is a great place.

Thanks for the info....I really should replace my 14 year old glasses sometime soon :confused3

Is anyone having a problem reading their Rx?
mine says
+100+075x120
+050+050x85

it doesn't read left or right, so I assume the top is left?
also when I put in the numbers in this order they don't have the options for them.

I'm sorry to be confusing but, I can't plug them into the spaces provided.

Any help will be much appreciated!
Thanks

OK your top set of numbers should be your OD and your bottom set of numbers should be your OS
The person who wrote your script out didn't put in the decimal points.
OD-First drop box should be +1.00, second +0.75, third box axis goes in as written 120 nothing in the fourth box

OS +0.50, +0.50, third 85
