DFiance and I headed to Boma's for our 9:20pm PS last night. First we stopped outside, toured the hotel and caught a look at quite a few different animals. We arrived about 9:05pm and were promptly seated by a very nice gentleman by the name of Russell from South Africa.
Our waitress was Lissa and she was very nice as well. We got our Diet Cokes and headed off to taste some of the food. We started with soup. DFiance had Gumbo (he said it was A+) and I had the Smoked Tomato Soup which was very good. We then had some of the salads, the only one I did not like was the Couscous (sp?) We both loved the one with the fried Plantains, yum!
I think we tasted just about everything, except some of the cold salads (we had to leave room for desert).
Our favorites were FuFu, Bobotie, Pap, the soups, Prime Rib w/ the almond/peper sauce and the pineapple cheesecake and choc. mousse.
The funniest event of the night was DFiance said to me, "hun, this BOOTIE has nuts in"...lol
LOL, in all wonderful restraunt, good value and lots of fun! We will go here again for sure!

Boma's is one of our favorites too!! Thanks for the memories, can't wait for our next trip!!! Beth

Sounds wonderful ~ Thanx for sharing.

Hi,

Mom & I loved BOMA also!! Thanks for sharing!!!

Allison

Boma is a must-do for us. Have PS for 7/31.
FYI, there 3 rotating menus. Try the stews next time, especially the Red Bean (it will fire you up).

Our host told us Ribs were on Sat/Wed nights. The night we went was Sunday and they had Curry Pork Lion, Prime Rib, Bobotie, Mustard Salmon for meats... we did not see any sweet potato pancakes which we wanted to try.... you could always call I guess.

Good review, thanks for sharing.

What did the almond pepper sauce taste like? I'm not a very adventurous eater.

Fufuf in Africa mean Mash....most common in Africa they mash root vegetable (cassava, yuca, potato etc...) and some plaintain.....And for the Maroccan Almond sauce is sweet and nutty flavor with the hint of tomato, onion, celery, sweet red and green bell pepper..........hope this will be help everyone......

PS: The chef is not chinese either he is from Indonesia........lot of Indonesian desent live in Durban - SA, if you to boma you will find the dish name "Bobotie"....when you come back to Boma ask for the server for the history of Bobotie event better find the Chef.....

FlyingChef, yes it is African, I hadn't posted back yet but I did look it up yesterday on google. I was just posting what the host said to us. I will correct my siggie....::yes::
Do you work at Boma's? If so what a cool position and thanks for such a wonderful meal.

Did you try the Zebra Domes? and wasn't that Pineapple Cheesecake so delicious. mmm, I love Boma's and can't wait to get back there. They didn't have the sweet potato pancakes when I was there either. Oh well, an excuse for another trip, lol.

Boma's for dinner ... one of our favorite restaurants at WDW! Thank you for sharing your review.

Yes we did try the Zebra Domes, I did not think they were anything special... maybe it was an off night as I love Kaluha and Coffee so who knows... but yes the Pineapple CC and the Choc. Mousse were WONDERFUL, I had seconds, would have had thirds but by that time the food didn't have anywhere else to go we had so much to eat...lol::yes::
