Truthfully I am a little worried about all the news about missing benches. I haven't been in almost 4 years. I am dealing with bad knees with the surgeries and arthritis that is going on. I don't want to rent a scooter if I can help it. I am going to get there and gauge my success. If need be then scooter it is. The hardest thing for me to do is stand in one spot for too long. I looked forward to resting on one of the benches once in awhile to get my knees under control.

Nope, some of them are still there. A cluster of three benches that used to have three umbrellas now only has one umbrella.

Are you sure? I know they won't allow folding chairs and that is why I got the little tripod seat and I've taken it in several times already and they've never told me I couldn't. Goodness, I hope I haven't been breaking any rules all these times.

I only see the photo if it being used as a seat. Is it in anyway built like a walker/cane. Maybe that is why they let you.

I wouldn't worry if you have had success before. I'm not too familiar with them, though.

That's certainly as plausible as saying that they removed benches because people complained there weren't enough of them.

Come to think of it, Hollywood Studios must be immune to complaints about benches or safety concerns as there are plenty of benches in that park. But then, there's less to do in that park these days so maybe they figured more benches would be an attraction.

But if you've been able to bring one in, don't worry your head about it at all. If they didn't want you to, I'm sure they'd tell you. Enjoy your seat!

For the eating part you have a seat, sure. When I went, I had the first row table and people started lining up in front of me at the rail 15 minutes before the show. If I had stayed sitting, I wouldn't have been able to see the castle during the show. Paying that much and still having to stand in a crowd of people to see the show was absolute horse hockey. the deserts were not very good and the coffee was horrible and cold. I am never doing that again and don't recommend it for anyone.

I wouldn't say to anyone not to go to the Wishes Dessert Party, but I thought it was a waste of money, too. We mainly got it because I had my 2 sisters in law, and 2 little ones, plus I was super excited about Tinkerbell flying overhead, and had talked quite a bit about it to the children. Did not particularly enjoy the desserts, we went on a MVMCP night, so it cut into the festivities, it rained so Tink didn't fly. There were those who apparently didn't mind the rain, so they stood in front of us who chose not to get soaked. The view was less than stellar. When we were leaving we saw quite a crowd at guest services, but the line was longer than an A&E meet and greet. If I'd had a fast pass, I would have complained but we were all tired by then.

I have such an awful time with my knees that I do need to sit down but it was getting harder to find a nice bench and if I were to plop down on the ground I wouldn't be able to get up. So I got myself one of these and I have had no problems at all bringing it into the park:

No offense CnC. I'm sorry about the knees. It's just by taking out the benches, I'll need a plan. I am not dropping $2,600 on tix and eating in the top of the garbage can!! I'm glad some of you are resourceful, but I am not doing that!

The cut down a lot of trees in the Magic Kingdom that were blocking the view of the castle and fireworks.

At least the Disney garbage cans are pretty clean. I've done the garbage can meal a time or two during the Food and Wine Festival. If you are ordering food from a regular quick service place there is always seating nearby. It is only when they add the extra food booths that seating and the lack of tables is a huge problem.

Coming to a souvenir shop soon: One of those tripod chairs in the shape of a Mickey head, only $39.95 (less than a desert party!). It's a win win for Disney: get rid of something that needs some maintenance, sell guests a place to sit.

Oh, and using WisBlue's logic, Disney should get rid of major attractions.

True, but not the trees in Epcot that are near the benches that used to have umbrellas that don't anymore that some people say might have been removed because they blocked the view that the trees still block.

Where are people supposed to relax?? What about those people that can't manage the all day hike!!?? And need a break now and then??!! What about those that choose not to ride an attraction with the group and decide to wait!! They have to stand?? or worse yet..... sit on the hard ground/concrete..... or even wet if it may have rained???
And are you telling me they have not put back ANY of the benches near the hub at MK???????????
