I'm just watching it for the hundreth time and wondering if anyone's ever read the books that are mentioned in the movie?

the one she's reading during story time is something like Boy's childhood adventures

then the books about Betsy and Tibs and the shoe books.

dd is almost 4 and i wanted to start reading her other books besides disney and "kids" books.

Oh, I just love that show. I find myself watching it whenever it's on! All the parts of the movie work together and it is a delight to watch. I don't know any of those books. I just learned about a new book "The Velveteen Rabbit" which has been out since 1922. It is a nice book and it is on-line.

I own the Betsy/Tacy series (and have read many of the others she mentions in the movie). The first book of that series would be a good "read to me" book for a younger one; they're 5yo in the first book and the writing is simple.

My daughter is a huge fan of the Noel Streatfeild "shoe books" and we both love the movie! I've probably seen it a hundred times, easy. I also love "Shop Around the Corner" with Jimmy Stewart.
