You've Got a Friend in Me:TINKGURL & XOKTENOX's Adventures in WDW~UPDATE: 6/9 p.74

The cake is amazing!!! :thumbsup2 Aw, Little Guy looks so cute in his costume! I bet he had a great time trick-or-treating!

Thanks! It took me awhile, but I think it turned out alright!

He had a blast trick-or-treating! But, he loved handing out candy more!

Great job on the cake:cake:
It is super cute!

Thanks!!

Love the Halloween picture!

What a fantastic Toy Story cake! I'm not good at cake decorating. All I can do is slap some frosting on the cake and maybe write Happy Birthday!

Thanks girl. I am not good at it either, but I took my time and tried really hard for his sake.

Fun times at tinkgurl's house - birthdays and holidays! Hope you guys have a lovely rest of the week just hanging out with the family and getting in the holiday spirit.

Tink, the cake looks great! I took my first shot @ cake decorating for DS's birthday in May and it was a Toy Story Cake. I put some toys on the cake too! I love the idea of the marshmallows for the clouds. :)

DS much preferred handing out candy last year than trick-or-treating but this year he did his socializing during the trick-or-treating :)

Hope you have a great Thanksgiving!

DS was Peter Pan this year. He was so darn cute in his costume, I swear. My sister bought a Tinkerbelle costume for my 5 month old niece and thought Peter Pan would be cute...well, it's a fitting costume because for about 2 months now he's been telling me that he's not going to grow up and just be my boy forever. (heart melting) :)

Kristen!! Yay!! I love that I got a ToT shoutout!! I LOVE that bathrobe SO much!! I want an entire ToT towel set and everything. That would be amazing!!

50s PTC looks sooooo good!! I cannot wait until we eat there!! I LOVE that everyone signed your card!! That totally made me tear up!! It's so sweet. I tear up whenever I hear anyone just getting sung the birthday song, and that was even more touching!!

Tinkgurl!! Wow...your update was a even bigger tear fest!! I loved reading about the boys becoming soldiers. That was so cute. What an awesome moment. Landon is slowly getting old enough to really do that stuff and it makes me even more excited for future trips!!

P.S. Hopefully May 31st, I will get you that Buzz/Woody meeting!! The key is finding out the time and also verifying that it's BOTH of them. The first time we went last time, it was just Buzz!! So we asked when they would both be there and then got there like 10 minutes early and were the 2nd people in line! By the time there were 5 or less minutes, there was already a HUGE line behind us. Once they opened the doors, we just zipped in and out.

Which reminds me of something both your fiancee and Dustin did that I think is so cute! I love how they wanted to be in some pictures too! Like fiancee and Cars, Dustin was the same with Buzz & Woody!! It's so cute when you can see the magic getting to them too!! Gah, I'm tearing up again!!

Hello everyone!! We sincerely apologize for the delay! We know everyone gets busy and we really have. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it but Chris and I are going to Florida (Tampa area) in 2 weeks to visit his family down there. Unfortunately, we will not be going to WDW but we will be going to Busch Gardens in Tampa. I’ve only been to the BG in Williamsburg, VA so I’m excited to try a new theme park. Anyway, I definitely want to get a few updates in before that. So, without any further hold up, let’s continue July 22nd.

When I last left off, Chris and I had just left DHS after having lunch at 50’s PTC. We caught a bus with almost no wait back to Pop around 2:15. I lovedddd how close Pop was to DHS. 5 mins later we were back to the resort and Chris ran to the room; nature was calling haha I checked out Everything Pop gift shop. I don’t think I purchased anything yet.

We napped at Pop and just relaxed watching TV for a few hours. I think it was around now when I started to not feel so well. I was getting stuffed up in my nose as well as a sore throat. Because of this I really wanted to relax a little so I could make it through the evening. At around 4:30 we started getting cleaned up and caught a bus to Epcot at 5:00!

Soon enough, we were here!
391.jpg

Our dinner reservation for Biergarten was at 6:05 so we just headed back that way. On our walk back we decided to stop at Club Cool! We’d never stopped in here before. We were going to on our first night with Tink and her DF but it was closed already.

393.jpg

Of course we had to try a bunch of the sodas from around the world, including Beverly. I was hoping to get a funny face out of Chris when he tried it but this is all I got…
394.jpg

Then, I gave it a shot
395.jpg

396.jpg

Gross! So bitter!

397.jpg

I took a picture of this one, so I guess we liked it
398.jpg

Back to walking to Germany we went. It was super, super hot so we chose to wait for the next boat over to the other side of the WS.

My attempt at a panorama shot

402.jpg

Illuminations barge
404.jpg

Here comes the boat
405.jpg

Taking the boat was probably longer and just as hot as walking lol they need to get some more fans on that thing or something! But, eventually we made it here
406.jpg

407.jpg

Can I just say that Chris and I LOVE Germany?! We want to visit the country sooo badly one day. For now, the Epcot pavillion will have to do! Biergarten is one of our MUST DO ressies. We love it SOOO much in there and wish we could eat there at home! Definitely, in our opinion, the most underrated WS restaurant.

We checked in at 5:55 and got taken in at 6:05, right at our reservation time. We were seated at our table with a family from Alabama. It was a couple probably in their mid-60’s, their son and daugher-in-law and their 2 young kids. They were sooo nice and we really enjoyed spending our dinner with them.

We just LOVE the inside of this restaurant…
408.jpg

And the band!
409.jpg

We had great seats!
410.jpg

Here is my first plate, that pretzel bread is soooo yummy!
411.jpg

We were having wonderful conversation with the older man sitting with us. He was telling us he was a retired principal and he and I got into talking about education and how I am going to school for my master’s degree to teach. We also started talking about how Chris and I want to move down South because of how expensive it is to live on LI. Some comparisons were made in cost of living and they were amazed at the ridiculousness of prices/taxes on LI. These people were really so nice.

Then the solo began by this guy
412.jpg

Chris and I also tried the beer flight which I guess I didn’t get a picture of. I did get one of the menu describing each beer though
413.jpg

My favorite was the Hefenweisen (#2) and Chris' was the Oktoberfest (#3). The Beck's was okay and we decided we didn't like the last one because it was too dark.

Then, the lovely Alabama family offered to take our picture
414.jpg

I took theirs as well. Other shots of the restaurant
415.jpg

416.jpg

We took our time finishing our food and going up for second plates and then plates of dessert. Everything is sooooooo good there!! Such an enjoyable experience!!!

When dinner was finished we had no real plan for the night but noticed the 2U (U2 cover band) concert was going on over in the American Gardens Theater. That interested us so we headed over there.

417.jpg

This guy kinda looked like Bono and definitely sounded like him
418.jpg

419.jpg

Honestly, this was one of my favorite times of the whole trip! 2U was GREAT and the weather was cooling down a bit. We had no plan and were just enjoying Epcot and each other. Actually, 2U is playing at a bar here on Long Island December 3rd and we’re going to check them out again, that’s how much we liked them!

Here’s Chris having a wonderful time
420.jpg

When their show was (unfortunately) over I had wanted to see if Voices of Liberty had any shows coming up so we walked up to check it out. Sadly, their last show had already been performed. We opted not to see the American Adventure show.

421.jpg

Instead, we walked around the WS some more. First, to Italy…
422.jpg

423.jpg

424.jpg

Aren’t those masks so beautiful? It’s on my list of things to purchase at some point.

Via Napoli was still not open yet…
425.jpg

426.jpg

Huge thighs, sorry
428.jpg

429.jpg

Next we walked over to Germany again, this time to check out the pavillion more. At Christmas time, this little village is themed for the holiday
430.jpg

I definitely want to get one of these one day…
431.jpg

Chris loves steins and has started to collect them
432.jpg

433.jpg

434.jpg

Next was China, a pavillion we’d never really checked out before…
435.jpg

436.jpg

437.jpg

438.jpg

439.jpg

440.jpg

441.jpg

442.jpg

We loveddd China! So many cool things to check out.

Next we walked through Norway. Is it just me or does that store’s smell give anyone else a huge headache?! We must have just went through quickly because I don’t have any pictures from there. On to Mexico and specifically…
443.jpg

The tequila cave!!! I am TOTALLY a margarita girl so I was super pumped to check this place out!

444.jpg

It was small but we were able to get a little booth in the back. A waiter came over and I ordered an avocado margarita at the recommendation of the CM outside of the cave. I was happy!
445.jpg

446.jpg

I texted Tink while we were in here and asked her what they were up to. I don’t remember what they were doing now, 4 months later lol but we knew we probably weren’t going to meet up again for the night and would see each other the following day.

We also ordered some chips and salsa to munch on while we relaxed in the cave. It was a nice little respite from the crowds outside.

Once done, we walked through Mexico a little and decided to go on the Three Caballeros ride. It must have been like 9:15 at this point because EMH had begun and we had to show our room keys to ride.

447.jpg

448.jpg

449.jpg

450.jpg

Afterwards we walked outside and the crowds were all herding out after Illuminations so we plopped ourselves onto the seats of the Mexico pyramid to people watch and wait. Again, such a peaceful little relaxing time together. Eventually we got up and walked over towards Mission:Space. We showed our room keys and went on the Green side together. Noooo orange side for me!!

Around 10:15 we started walking back towards the front of the park to our bus stop.
451.jpg

By 10:45 we were back at Pop and decided to go for a night swim. We swam for like a half an hour and then headed back to our room to hit the hay. Another wonderful, amazing, magical day at the World was complete
.

Really sounds like the perfect evening, to enjoy Epcot at a relaxed pace and end the night with a night swim. Can't wait until it's my turn.:goodvibes

I'm a little upset though. I had no clue about that etched glass thing, but now that you've shown pictures I totally want one. Looks amazing! Probably a budget buster though...:rotfl: (Don't worry, I'm not really upset ;))

Awesome time at Epcot! There is so, so much to see and learn in all the countries. This would be a wonderful afternoon for a stroll around World Showcase, if I weren't ten hours away. :upsidedow

Beverly tastes like a bad medicine to me. Yuck!

You are going to be surprised at the lower cost of living in the south, but the paychecks are smaller, too, of course. Have you guys pretty much decided on Florida?

Have fun at Busch Gardens. It's been many years since we went. I'd like to go to BG Williamsburg someday.

Hope you guys had a good holiday! :goodvibes

Thanks! Hope you did too!

Aw, how cute! :goodvibes

Kristen!! Yay!! I love that I got a ToT shoutout!! I LOVE that bathrobe SO much!! I want an entire ToT towel set and everything. That would be amazing!!

I couldn't wait to share the Toy Story Green Army men moment!! It was the cutest thing ever!!

I wish we could've been able to meet Buzz and Woody, but the line was just too crazy long! :headache:

Aw man Kristen, your pics of Epcot make me miss our time we spent there together!!

Another great update! I know I've been on the Three Cabelleros but it's been such a long time. I am really looking forward to it on our trip this April!

Sounds like a perfect Disney evening! Have a great time in Tampa!

Awww Tink, the cake you made for Little Guy came out so cute. I love to bake but I lack the patience for doing cute things like that. You did such a good job!

Kristen, that was an awesome update -- I looooove Epcot! I now so badly want to visit the tequila cave :rotfl: It wasn't there when I went in February. I think the first time I saw anything about it was when I saw pics on Tracy's (maantra) FB. That avocado margarita sounds soooo good!

Great update. Nothing like a leisurely afternoon in the World Showcase. How was the avocado margarita? It sounds, um, interesting?

What a great update Kristen!

seems like you and chris enjoyed each others company and disney delights equally which is always good! I would never have thought of Biergarten but am pretty sure DBF would love the beer flight!

I remember reading that exact phrase about the stone army all having different faces, so cool!

Great update!
We ate at Beirgarten for the 1st time on our trip & I LOVED it too!
You're avocado margarita sounds yummy!

Such a good update!! I love, love, love Epcot!!! That Tequila place was really neat wasn't it! When we visited there last year, Chad and his step-dad got a shot of tequila. When the bill came....it was $40 bucks a pop!! lol
