You're Dressed for Kissin' Frogs- A 3 day July Audition TR-Updated 10/4!!!

Yay! Another TR from you ... I love your TRs~

I LOVE that dress so much ... it's so pretty. Also, I'm super excited to hear about your audition!

HI there :) I've read your other trip reports and I am really looking forward to this one!! Such a quick trip. Can't wait to hear about the auditions. -Amanda

Aw yay! I'm glad you're a fan! It really was a super quick trip, but when you're down at Disney, you can accomplish so much in one day, it feels a whole lot longer!

Yay! Another TR from you ... I love your TRs~

I LOVE that dress so much ... it's so pretty. Also, I'm super excited to hear about your audition!

Haha! Thank you! You guys are all seriously awesome! And again thanks, it sure gets a lot of attention for a cheap walmart dress haha!!

Alright, so just as a heads up, I will let you guys know that I had decided to only use my camera for the pictures with characters, and everything else would be with my Iphone. However, on the journey back home, my camera was “lost” out of my luggage, and I no longer have it, or my character pictures. Because I was only going for 3 days, I didn’t bother getting the photopass, so I’ve just taken screen shots of all the pictures from the photopass so that I have them. Hopefully, you don’t mind!

I had just arrived at Magic Kingdom, and it was only 7:11pm, I had plenty of time to do all of the things I wanted. There’s just something so incredible about walking up to MK for the first time of a trip, or every time, let’s be serious. I also love checking out the MK area resorts!

IMG_1487.jpg

While I was on the bus, I started thinking about how much more I love the monorail! You’re higher up and can see the castle and Space Mountain from it, and it’s just awesome. It also was super awesome that I kept seeing things labeled “Art of Animation” and would get really excited about it!! I don’t know about you guys, but EVERY freaking time I’m going to go into MK, I always forget about having to go over to the left, and try to go into the exit. Lawl. The crowds were nowhere near as bad as I though they would be over at bag check, so that was a bonus!!3

Ugh, then I was in, and through the bag check, and I seriously started freaking out inside, Oh em gee! I am here, I’m doing this, I am dying, and most importantly, I’m HOME! Seriously the greatest feeling in the entire world!

IMG_1488.jpg

I noticed there were no Princess fast passes left, but that was fine, I had a very big mission to accomplish over my times in Magic Kingdom this trip, and headed down Main Street to accomplish it!

IMG_1489.jpg

I keep telling myself that one of these days I’m going to buy a balloon and give it to some kid who doesn’t have one. I just really want to buy a balloon, but I have nowhere to put it (like a stroller) while I’m on rides, or hanging out with characters lol.

IMG_1491.jpg

ASFSADASKLNG;DFJNKJSNFD <-That pretty much sums up my emotions at this point of the day. Ugh. That right there, that’s home, 100%, I wish I could be in Disney World every day of my life, however, there’s that whole living very far away problem!

Now, I was headed over to Liberty Square first things first, it’s a very important part of my trips! For those of you who are following along one of my TR’s for the first time, I’ll need to fill ya in on something. I did a Solo trip down to WDW in January, and spent most of my evenings in MK, and because of wanting to talk to characters, I spent a lot of time hanging out with Tiana & Naveen, especially when Naveen encouraged me to come back the next night. We became BFF’s, no biggie! Ha! Fast forward three months, and I’m back in Disney with some friends, and we go back to see Tiana & Naveen, and it’s my Naveen, and he remembers me. Not just an “oh hey, you’ve been here before” but actually was fully in remembrance of what we talked about. You can read that story here:

http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=45217332&postcount=107

Naturally, I was headed straight to Liberty Square to check and see if he was out and about today, I was actually kind of nervous to see if it was going to be the specific friend of Naveen’s that I wanted to see, or not. As I rounded the corner, the survey says: no Naveen….at all…my heart broke a little bit. Ha! I decided I would swing back later for Tiana, and headed over to Cosmic Rays to get some food. I debated actually getting something different, but I went with my classic Turkey Sandwich

IMG_1492.jpg

When I received my order though, I was handed the deep fried chicken sandwich, and was all “uh…no…” and they got it fixed right away for me! Yay! I also got French fries, and obviously, added some mushrooms to the plate. It was delicious! As per usual, I really do recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a lighter option of food.

After eating, I took the Fantasyland side of the restaurant to exit out of, and noticed how much construction there is! AAAHHHH I am seriously SO excited for everything to open. I also am seriously dying inside, as there is a passholder (annual pass holder) preview…November 19th….I’m going to WDW in November….SERIOUS!? But my friend and I are going for her birthday, and food & wine, and we seriously can’t afford to stay long enough to see the preview! Dying!

IMG_1493.jpg

IMG_1494.jpg

I’m so excited! I also noticed that now, right beside the Winnie the Pooh ride, Tigger & Pooh are out for meet and greets! WHAT? That’s super adorable! It was super hot, so I figured that a ride on Splash would be a good idea, and then I could circle past Liberty Square to ask if Naveen would be out at all later, but the cm manning the line was completely MIA! Oh well, I’ll head through Adventureland! (Which is where I had the “oh crap, I should be documenting this” thought, and took some pictures)

IMG_1495.jpg

IMG_1496.jpg

Oh hey old friend, how I’ve missed you so so much these past couple of months. I seriously have moments where I’m all “man, I just want to ride Splash Mtn right now!” It had also been a while since I’d seen, much less been on Big Thunder!

IMG_1497.jpg

The line for Splash was horrendous (surprised?) so I grabbed a fast pass, and headed back into Adventureland, it was time to get shrunk down and head to Pixie Hollow! I was definitely also having the “ugh these crowds” thoughts a few times too, mainly, the people need to learn how to walk, and if your child is screaming insanely, maybe do something about it, it’s probably time to go back to the hotel and go to bed! The wait for the fairies was posted at 45 minutes, so I jumped in line at 8:05, and passed the time playing games on my cell phone. There was definitely a little girl in line who, based on the looks she kept giving me, may have thought I was secretly Tinkerbell, hey, it’s okay kid, sometimes I think I am to! Lol! There was definitely some awesome Dads in the line up too, one was wearing the Mickey ears that had the Cinderella glass slipper on top of them, and one of them had the video camera out, and was saying “I’m going to record this and send it to Santa Clause!” Ha! People like that make me laugh. While I waited, I watched some of the cartoons they had, as well as played on my phone, and I had the thought that maybe they should update the cartoons? They’ve been the same since the Nook opened, I dunno, maybe that’s just me?

Despite all the complaining and whining, and crying kids, and upset adults that may have been annoying me at points, I was seriously just so happy to be here! It’s Disney, it may be hot, the crowds may be huge, I may be a little grumpy after a full day of traveling, but when in Walt Disney World, you can’t be hating! Which is something else I noticed, people in line would just complain about how long it was taking to get in to see characters, if the kid would ask, they would reply with “they went on a break, we have to wait even longer now” and just kinda insinuate that the characters don’t need breaks ever, hate to break it to you, but even fairies & princesses need breaks.

However, 40 minutes had now passed, and it was my turn to go in! I always get super excited for entering Pixie Hollow to see who else is in there with Tink, I thought to myself “if there is any chance it’s Periwinkle, I seriously will die!” It wasn’t! Lol, but it was another one of my favorites, Rosetta!

IMG_1577.png

She was a new one of her friends for me, and she was great! Absolutely adorable, she got all tongue tied talking to me and we just laughed it off. She said “she wanted to make a new dress, and could use green petals to make one like mine” super cute!

IMG_1578.png

Next of course was Tink!

IMG_1579.png

I had met this one before, and it will forever weird me out to see a character that is supposed to be blue eyed, and has brown eyes. Especially since I’ve seen some characters with blue eyed contacts in, but for some reason, that apparently doesn’t apply to Tink; I dunno, it just bothers me, either everyone or no one should do it. I could also tell this girl was very tired, she wasn’t very enthusiastic, but still made an attempt to chat and be friendly, saying “you’ve got my favorite colors on!”

IMG_1580.png

Since I had a hunt for characters going on, I headed straight back to Liberty Square, I thought maybe Naveen would just be out later than usual, thanks to that like, 100% velvet costume of his. Tiana’s line was nice and short, and she was supposed to be out in around 4 minutes, so I jumped in line. While we were waiting, the pen that the little Princess behind me had been using broke, and I offered them up mine to keep. I mean, I wasn’t getting autographs this trip, I had another two pens at home, it may as well go to a good place.

Soon enough the Princess of the hour came out, and with her….was no Naveen, super sad face, but that was totally okay too! I waited about a total of 15 minutes to see Tiana, and she was just lovely!

IMG_1582.png

She complimented the green of my dress, and said it was lovely. While we were taking the pictures, a little frog actually hopped up into the gazebo, and we were both pretty hesitant to approach it! Haha! She asked if I wanted to kiss it, maybe get a prince out of it, and I said no thank you! I’d be okay not getting all mucous-ey. She then said that I was dressed for kissing frogs, but she honestly wasn’t too fond of them either, but they were nicer than cockroaches. Ugh. That’s the truth!

After my nice little chat with Tiana, I started to head out of the park, Main Street was seriously a mad house, and the Princesses still had over an hour wait time. I was in Disney, I was happy, and new I’d push myself into grumpy if I dealt with those crowds, no thank you! Back to All Stars I went!

I picked up a yogurt to go along with my protein bar & apple for breakfast, and a key line pie for a snack now, then headed back to the room to shower, watch some Stacy, and just relax. I also noticed they were playing the Brave Little Toaster down at the pool! WHAT WHAT?! I loved that movie when I was a kid, and went back to watch it again last year, and it was terrifying! Lol!

IMG_1502.jpg

IMG_1498.jpg

The pie was good, there definitely wasn’t enough crust on the bottom layer, but I know some people are all “too much crust” I just think crust’s the best spot! I also went over my purchases of the day (ha! The things I forgot!)

IMG_1504.jpg

And that, wraps up my first day at Disney! Sorry it’s such a long text post, and not really long with the pictures, when I’m solo and there for a short time, I just don’t take as many pictures I guess. Hope you all enjoyed!

I am a little disappointed the "You look like you're dressed for kissing frogs!" didn't come from Naveen! ;)

Joining in !! Looks like an interesting TR :) hope everything went well!! X:goodvibes

Thanks!! I'm glad you're here!!

Also, so everyone else knows, I've just been out of town for the past couple of days, and life is crazy busy as I prepare for Disney, I don't yet have updates typed up for this TR, so it'll be a little slower on the updating, but I still plan on doing it! So don't worry if it seems dead!

On my first full day down in Disney, my first alarm, a wake up call, went off at 7:45 am! I was going to sleep a little bit more, rest myself for the audition and all, but then remembered that I was headed to Animal Kingdom and got SO excited, so I jumped out of bed. YAAAAYY. I had had a pretty restless sleep, I haven’t been sleeping well at all in the past couple of months, (in fact, had some pretty bad nightmares last night, ugh) either I can’t fall asleep at all, or I take a melatonin, and wake up a million times (plus they say if you take melatonin too often, it can increase crazy dreams, and I do not accept that). However, this not so great sleep was more so due to lots of noise coming from around the resort, the walls are definitely not sound proof, I could hear people on all 5 sides of the room, and out on the balcony, ugh.

I put that behind me, put on some Disney music and danced around while I got ready for the day! I stepped out the hotel room door and was instantly blasted with the humidity, WOW, for it being almost 8 am, it was already very hot! I was down to the bus stop by 8:07, and on an Animal Kingdom bus by 8:09! Yay! The benefit of arriving early, it’s not very crowded AT ALL. We were pulling into AK at 8:21, not too shabby! The shabby part, I spot a tour group…wasn’t the first, wouldn’t be the last. *le sigh*

IMG_1505.jpg

IMG_1506.jpg

There was literally no line at the bag check, but the turnstiles were already lined up, but not super bad (this would mark only the 2nd time I’ve been to Animal Kingdom and not been let in right away) It just proves that early risers do better in Disney (or those supplied with coffee & energy drinks!)

IMG_1507.jpg

They announced at 8:42 that they would be opening the turnstiles now, but then there was still the rope drop to wait for. Another huuuge benefit of being solo: you can weasel through crowds amazingly (maybe not everyone, but it’s surprisingly easy for me, after going to a school that was K-12, and you’d have math in the high school wing, then dance in the elementary wing, and have 4 minutes to get there & change. Then working in the biggest mall in Canada, and having 10 minutes to get to the food court and back & eat, it becomes a pretty awesome skill). I got a spot right by the rope and was ready to go!

One of my favorite things about Disney is listening to other conversations, and how people think they know everything there is to know about Disney, but there facts just aren’t right…it makes me sad. Soon enough though, the rope was being walked back, and the crowd was off! Observation: everyone starts off strong and fast, but then end up falling back, it’s not worth it to push through and run, just walk steady and let everyone fall back behind you. I made it to Asia & Expedition Everest to be on the third train of the day, and waited under 5 minutes!

IMG_1508.jpg

Words seriously cannot express how much I love this ride, this park! Seriously, I’m one of those people who really hardcore loves Animal Kingdom. It’s just so well themed and maintained, the cracks in the ground, the way they made everything is just so awesome. Nothing is better than walking through the Everest cue in the morning! When I exited the ride, I browsed the shop briefly, and checked the single rider line, and found it to not be open yet. Boo. The wait time was still posted at 10 minutes, but I saw that there were two HUGE BTG’s entering the line, so heck no was I getting in there with them! I grabbed a fast pass with the thought of returning later, and headed over to Africa! There were some monkey friends out and about on my way over too!

IMG_1510.jpg

IMG_1511.jpg

The safari wait time was a little bit too long, and there were seriously tour groups everywhere, I had clearly not come to the right park this morning. I debated what I was going to do next, kill time wandering until FOTLK, then head straight to the resort, or I could hop over to Epcot (or even DHS) and get in some more park time. Hmmm..screw it! Let’s to go Epcot!! I had about 3 hours, I could get there by 10, grab a snack, and hit up Canada to talk to some CM’s about the International Program, and then head back to the hotel. Well, here we go!!

(I know all these updates are so many more words than pictures, but hey, when you’re solo you can only take so many pics! Hope that doesn’t deter you from continuing to read!)

I am with you on Animal Kingdom love!
It is the best 'themed' park! So many details!!

I think that you'd be great as a fairy's friend - it looks like you're the same height as Rosetta/Tink. I like the whole Rosetta 'look' better - the hair, the dress, and the shoes! Much cuter than Tink's (seriously, that hair does not seem very comfortable).

Animal Kingdom is (one of) my favorite(s) as well. It's just so relaxing to walk through! I want to try doing an Animal Kingdom afternoon/evening, it seems as though it empties out pretty quickly after lunch. Seeing AK at night is totally on my Disney bucket list - I really, really want to see Everest all lit up. It looks AMAZING in pictures.

I also enjoy that it was like, $10.00 at walmart ha!

Always a winner!

Haha on your yeti photo I love the guy in front of you.
Holding in his kid AND filming. All hail the multitasker....

I love it so much!! Too many people hate on it!!

Haha! I definitely did that on purpose, the way I'm standing takes off a bit of my height, and if I pop my hip out to the side enough, it takes like, an inch off! I just wanted to see how close to Tink height I'd be haha. I'm really okay with being friends with anyone, I just want to bring the magic alive haha!

Ugh! I would love it if AK was open later! I know that it would then be like, Dinosaur & Everest that would be open, but still! Just to go for a walk through there would be awesome enough!

hi! I've been off the dis forever, but still want to keep up on your trips!

Where I left off I had just left Animal Kingdom and was headed over to Epcot, I was in line for the bus right at 9:30 am….yes…you read that right! There were a few families in line with me, and the bus arrived shortly, and we were at Epcot no later than 9:56am!

IMG_1512.jpg

IMG_1513.jpg

I tried to take some more pictures in this leg of my journey, hopefully you guys are pleased! Ha!

IMG_1514.jpg

IMG_1515.jpg

The fountain show was going on as I was walking in, so I stopped to watch and grab a couple of pictures of it as well, but had just caught the end of it, boo.

As I passed by the space where I knew the Imagination Pavilion is, the song instantly got stuck in my head, and I have to say, I love that song haha! I’m a nerd, I know. I headed toward World Showcase, and was just wandering through the park, falling in love with it all over again. Epcot is that park that I forget how much I love until I’m there or writing the Epcot segment of the TR (fitting, I’m listening to Epcot music right now too haah) The scenery is so beautiful and amazingly well down and just incredible. But it’s so simple at the same time!

IMG_1517.jpg

New topiaries! The other plus of Epcot…the breeze coming off the lagoon, AK was completely breeze-less, and I was dying haha. I started into World Showcase, but then noticed it wasn’t open yet, silly Katt, you should know that! I headed back into MouseGears to kill some time.

What did I find in MouseGears? Well, that I just wanted to BUY EVERYTHING!! There was a bunch of new merch from the last time I was there, and I specifically found a TrenD style shirt with Belle (and one with Cindy) that I really wanted, but of course, had absolutely no money, so I couldn’t get it now, it would have to wait!

IMG_1519.jpg

(and seriously, I love the TrenD shirts, but need some that don’t have Ariel on them! Ha!) I also found a tank top with Bambi on it that I really wanted, but don’t have a picture of that. I did however, find some Monorail toys!

IMG_1518.jpg

Dear Monorail, you will forever be in my heart… With my browsing done, and the time nearing that World Showcase would open, I headed back that way. It said that Belle would be out right at 11, so I figured I’d meet her, grab some noms, and then head home! I walked through Canada and the United Kingdom on the way there, of course!

IMG_1520.jpg

IMG_1521.jpg

IMG_1522.jpg

Can we all just pause and just take the time to appreciate the architecture and design of all the buildings out in World Showcase, they’re all done so well and magnificently *sigh* They still had everything roped off at the bridge leading into France, so I hung out there for a bit while they waited for the call to say they could let everyone in.

IMG_1524.jpg

So pretty! Before I knew it, the rope was down, and we were headed to France. I managed to be the second in line for Belle (since I slowed down to let a little Princess who loved Belle in front of me). We waited a few minutes before she came out of the area beside Chefs, and she carried a little basket and a book with her. My reaction? PERFECT BELLE IS PERFECT!

IMG_1583.png

She said that my bag was the perfect size for a book, and that she was reading a story about her father and all of his inventions.

IMG_1584.png

IMG_1585.png

She told me to make sure I watch out for Gaston, as he was always looking for a bride, lawl, no probs Belle, I’ll just take him off your hands! Haha! We hugged and said good bye, and I was off back to Future World for some food.

The Land Pavilion was pretty busy at this point, but I was not headed for Soarin, but Sunshine Seasons. However the snack I wanted (the fruit and cheese plate) was not there! Super sad face! Instead I got the roast chicken, and subbed in veggies instead of the rice, and decided to get the Strawberry Shortcake.

IMG_1526.jpg

IMG_1527.jpg

IMG_1528.jpg

It was good! The veggies definitely could have been a whole lot better, but for mass produced veggies, they were good. The chicken was a little greasey, but fine if you picked off the skin. The shortcake, the moment we’ve all been waiting for; was great, delicious, but it definitely kept falling apart while I was trying to eat it, and it unfortunately didn’t live up to the expectations. I did love that it had real strawberries in it though! I guess I’m just not a strawberry shortcake type of person? Who knows.

IMG_1529.jpg

Another picture for you, a really bad shot of the ceiling decorations! Another observation: have you ever noticed that in most of the quick service places, they have people just hovering, waiting to take away your garbage?! Clearly they keep the place clean! These guys take it away from you before you can even make the motion to stand up and clear your own place. It’s impressive! A final thought was I was leaving Epcot: wow, people really need to learn that there are two walkways, going different directions, and just to try and stay on the proper side. Ugh. Rant done. After eating, I left Epcot at 11:50 and headed back to All Star Sports!

I have been thinking about you! So excited you are on a trip right now! I can't wait to hear about your MNSSHPs! :)

I have tried the strawberry shortcake and found it to be "meh". The key lime pie is really good, though.

I feel I must defend the strawberry shortcake. So delicious!

Yay! Hahha, it's been great!! Had some hiccups here and there, but it's all good! MNSSHP was a blast, and I'm so pumped for the second one!!

Yeah...I just didn't dig it, the key lime sounds great though!!
