"You're Beautiful".... the song

Dh and I both like the song and his voice. We actually thought it was someone else, though we could never figure out WHO we thought it was. It is overplayed though.

I like the song, I think his voice is neat.

I haven't listened to the CD version, but I would be put off by the F-word. I need something I can listen to with my kids.

I'm sure the song gets annoying if it is overplayed but I mostly listen to the country station and only listen to pop from time to time.

LUv LUv LUv him and love the CD    I think he is one of the best new singer/songwriters out there now. Oh and the f word thing no biggy for me. He reminds me of a male Alannis M. and I love her too.

1. Do you like it?

Lord NOOOOO!!!! If you want to torture me to get me to reveal some sort of truth, play this song. A huge BLECH!!

2. Even though it is a song about another woman, would you slow dance to it?

See above.

3. Why in God's name did he "ruin" it by droppong the "F-Bomb" in it on the CD.... the radio version is clean.

I didn't know there was an F-word in it. Another reason for me to hate it.

I love the song too, I have the whole album on my ipod, that one is probably the most played out of the whole album.

I like it! It's a breath of fresh air as opposed to some of the other crap on the radio. I'd slow dance to it - sure, why not?

yeah i love it. i understand what he wrote it about, but i like to interpret that hes singing to some girl he doesnt know becasue i likoe that better. :)
yes i would slow dance to it, and i like that he dropped the f-bomb, but thats just me. :)

I've never heard of the guy or the song. Listened to the clip that was linked and I didn't like it, from what I heard. The guy's voice is weird.

Re: the F bomb - he says he is fing high in the song, doesn't he?. The name he is using is Blunt - his real name is James Blount. A couple of the songs on the album reference pot or getting high and there is a picture of a pill on the cd.

Thanks for posting that. :) I don't really dig music with drug references.

He is a decorated U soldier and one of the saddest song's is about the things he saw in Bosnia.Makes me cry

Lyrics..No Bravery

There are children standing here,
Arms outstretched into the sky,
Tears drying on their face.
He has been here.
Brothers lie in shallow graves.
Fathers lost without a trace.
A nation blind to their disgrace,
Since he's been here.

And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.

Houses burnt beyond repair.
The smell of death is in the air.
A woman weeping in despair says,
He has been here.
Tracer lighting up the sky.
It's another families‚ turn to die.
A child afraid to even cry out says,
He has been here.

And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.

There are children standing here,
Arms outstretched into the sky,
But no one asks the question why,
He has been here.
Old men kneel and accept their fate.
Wives and daughters cut and raped.
A generation drenched in hate.
Yes, he has been here.

And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.

This song blows me away. I didn't hear it enough to know exactly what it was about. Now that I see the lyrics, it is more poignant. ( sp ?)

I had only heard it 2x so far.

The song is OK. It grew on me, but the video is horrifying. I may be interpreting it incorrectly but it looks like he's in the process of killing himself. Call me old fashion but glorifying suicide for any reason is just plain wrong.

"Goodbye My Lover" is a great song I Tivo'd his performance of this on Saturday Night Live and still haven't erased it. That was the first time I heard that song and it completely captivated me.

I like his passion but once I saw the video for "You're Beautiful" my admiration for his music dropped several scales (ha ha ha I crack myself up, I love a bad pun).

I like the song and yes i would slow dance to it.The funniest part is when he says "She could see from my face that I was, f***ing high."This guy looks like he is so clean and that he would never do drugs. :rotfl2:

It doesn't bother me at all that he says the f-word OR that he includes a drug reference. Yawn. The part that really bothers me is all the whiny singing and lame lyrics around the f-word and the drug reference.

Goodfairies, I am gnawing mine too!

One of my co-workers just raves about this CD. I can take it or leave it.

John Mayer or Meyer...he's another one I could do without....though none compare with the horror inflicted by Michael Bolton wailing out when a man loves a woman...

1. LOVE the song. It reminds me of Orlando! Why? Well, the first night I was on my WDW vacation last month we went to Beaches and Cream for dinner and I had to ask a Beach Club lifeguard how to get there (never had been to boardwalk before). Well...he was gorgeous and his face lit up when he saw me, and he was really flirting with me when I talked to him. It was the beginning of the end of my relationship with my ex-boyfriend and realizing that other (cute!) guys could possibly like me made me realize that I would be OK if I broke up with my boyfriend. Oh yea....and this story relates to the song because I heard the song for the first time during that vacation and it made me think of that Beach Club Lifeguard!

2. Sure, if it was with the lifeguard

3. I don't think the f-word ruins the song. It's easy enough to get a clean version of it.
