Your worst moment at a Disney park?

I told about my bra story earlier, but have a couple of ECV stories as well...

In 2007 we were taking a bus from then MGM to AK... Both my DM and I had rented ECVs and had gotten on the bus and were waiting for them to load other passengers. I don't really understand what was happening, but all the other people in line were not allowed on... the bus driver stopped and had a discussion with another driver... then got on the bus and informed us that it was just us! This was the 1st day of our trip (it seems like our 1st trip but we had been there 20 some odd years prior, but only MK was open then) and weren't really accustomed to the busses yet.. so I had stayed on my ECV instead of sitting in a regular seat. Big Mistake! The driver hadn't completely got it strapped down and as the bus turned a corner, the ECV tipped over with me on it! I was fortunate that I was able to catch myself before getting hurt, but it was kind of scary! I NEVER remain on my ECV since that happened! (Also this is the source of the tagline below)... by the way we have since decided that park hopping is NOT for us.

Last September, at DHS... we were going for our dinner ADRs at 50s Prime Time.. we noticed that the sky was darkening and knew it was going to rain. I had again rented an ECV but DM had since gotten her own electric WC. We rode them into the restaurant looking for a place to park them safely, and were informed that they had to be taken back outside and parked. I was worried about the forthcoming rain, but they insisted that should it start raining they would make sure they were covered. They also insisted that DM transfer from her chair as there was not enough room around our table. Needless to say, the sky opened up and cats and dogs filled the sky! We didn't really enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant (I was ok, but DM hated that the waiter at the next table kept yelling.. he even screamed so loud once that I jumped) and our waitress didn't pull any antics. So we weren't in the magical mood when we leave anyway, but I looked outside and completely lost it!!!! Oh yeah, they covered them!!!! My ECV the put a black trash bag over the tiller.... but left the seat completely uncovered.. it was drenched. I was so upset that it took me awhile to notice that they did worse with DM WC... they put another black trash bag over her seat... but nothing on the joystick controller!!!! As we left there in the pouring rain... I admit I was being a big baby, but I was crying....even sobbing! I just wanted to go some place dry for a few... so went to the entrance of The Great Movie Ride to wait for DM to catch up... a CM saw me crying and decided to cheer me up! As soon as DM arrived he took us inside a back entrance, that allowed us to get on the ride immediately... not that there was a long line anyway. As we were sitting on tram waiting to take off, I was still crying, but trying to stop.... was still so upset that I wasn't doing a great job. Another CM asked me if I was ok, I just said we were having a bad day... and he gives me a sticker to help cheer me up... imagine me a 39 year old woman throwing a tantrum like a 5 year old and someone gives me a sticker and it calms me down!!!!

Due to the rain on DMs WC she had power issues with it the rest of the week... to the point of it all but dying at Epcot a few days later.... another CM came to our rescue and let her chair charge at rental place and got her a ECV rental for the rest of the day free of charge. Also, got us a claim number for the original incident.... which was settled by Disney after our return home..

All in all, last septembers trip wasn't a great one, but I just love going to Disney!

I think any Disney trip I have taken in July has been a disaster. Too hot, too crowded, and too many rude people (granted I have encountered them during other months but July seems to be when the Rude People Convention hits WDW!). I will be sticking to my non-summer visits for a long time :thumbsup2

Like others there really isn't a "worst" moment... just a collection of not-so-great moments.

1. We were at the improv place at PI once about 10 years ago when the couple in front of us started getting REALLY hot and heavy. I just tried to ignore it and concentrate on the show (the *onstage* show lol), but it was awkward to say the least.

2. Our last trip we had ADRs for Crystal Palace for early breakfast. It was going to be the highlight of the trip for me - getting to enter the park when it was more or less empty. The night before my youngest DS (then 2) barfed twice. We were pretty sure it was excitement or something he ate, but we were afraid to "test" it, so we cancelled the ressie :-( Even though he didn't vomit again, I know it was the right thing to do, and I wasn't mad or anything - stuff happens, and it's not like he did it on purpose, but I was still disappointed. Hopefully we can try again when we go back in November!

3. Same trip, same DS - we ate lunch at SciFi which my DH was really excited about; service was slow and DS2 decided he was *done* being good for the day. Not horrible, but not the most relaxing lunch ever, either. Afterward, DH and DS2 were waiting while my older sons and I went to the bathroom - we come out to DH glaring at the world in general while mopping up blood off of DS2's face; apparently he undid his stroller straps and darted off... face-first into a brick/cement pillar (I guess he was so intent on his getaway that he didn't pay attention to where he was getting away TO). He was okay - it was mainly a busted lip and scrapes, but it was then DH's turn to be "done", so we went back to the hotel for naps.

August 2008 by far. We were staying at Old Key West and one of the main water pipes to our building ended up breaking a couple days into the trip. They fixed it that night, but we were up late because of it. Apparently there were only two rooms in the building where the water could be tested and it was our room and another family's room, but the other family had three kids who were already sound asleep. We did the nice thing and let them test the water via our pipes. That night, the water was fine after they left, though we did have to shower at the pool because it was only after our return from said pool that we discovered the water was out!

However, when we woke up in the morning and went to brush our teeth, the water was coming out black and gritty! We tried every possible tap (including the jacuzzi tub!) and everything was black! Apparently one of the couplings on a joint wasn't tight enough and dirt had gotten into the pipe. We called maintenance and they showed up in less than five minutes once they realized what was wrong. Once again, we were down at the pool doing our business. When we came back, maintenance said it was fixed and everything was cleaned.

It wasn't. We got into the room and there was a greasy black dirt residue in the jacuzzi tub and in the sinks and the shower head was only working a little bit. So we called maintenance again. They came back (different guys this time) and started fiddling with everything. We said we were leaving for the parks since we had a lunch ressie we were going to miss if we stayed much longer and they said it was fine and we left.

We got back that night to a broken shower head and clean water in two taps (bathroom and kitchen). The shower head wasn't even connected to the pipe. We all headed down to shower at the pool again and stopped at the front desk on our way back to speak directly with a manager. We ended up talking with the highest ranked person at the resort! They apologized profusely and said they would personally oversee the repairs in the morning (they couldn't do it that night nor did we want them to! We were ready for some rest!).

Sure enough, that morning the hotel manager and another set of repair guys shows up. We left for the day and assumed that was that. Mid-day we got a call from the manager (my mom leaves her cell number on file for concierge purposes) and he says it's all been taken care of, water is running fine in our room and not only that, our room account has been credited $200 for our troubles.

We had dinner ressies at Le Cellier that night and needless to say, we ate VERY well.

I was at Animal Kingdom when there was a sudden downpour. I dont think I couldve gotten any wetter even if I jumped into a pool.

That's called Kali River Rapids, and it's an attraction. :rotfl:

Our first trip for the kids was February 2010. Everything was going great for the duration of the trip. Well, Terrence was a must see for my youngest DD - she was beyond obsessed with him. We ended up visiting the fairies (1+ hour waits!) 4 times that trip just to try and see him.

During the third visit we were stopped in line, putting us first for the next group of people in. We had asked the CM manning the line which fairies were in there at the time to which she said 'Terrence, Fawn and Tink.' PERFECT! :thumbsup2

So, we make our way to the fairies with our DD bouncing around and smiling ear to ear in anticipation. We round the corner, and BOOM - it's Silvermist, Rosetta and Tink - the same 3 fairies we have already met 2x before! In sheer disappointment and irritation with wasting another hour out of the trip in that line I dropped the big F bomb. It slipped, I couldn't help it, my husband was mortified. Thankfully, only a single CM heard it... but still....

My husband still occasionally says, 'I can't believe you dropped the F bomb in Pixie Hollow.' :rotfl2:

My worst moment happened when DD was 5. It was July and we were all overheated. DD was complaining of a headache. We were just outside the Hall of Presidents so we figured we head there to cool off and see how she felt afterwards. We were waiting for the next show to begin, sitting on a bench in the cool, refreshing lobby. Out of the blue, DD just hurls onto the beautiful carpet. DH looks around and scoops her up and heads out. Says we should get out before anyone sees us. I'm mortified and want to tell a CM what happened so it can be cleaned up quickly. The CM I found couldn't have been nicer. Wanted to know if we needed to head to first aid. Mind you, DH is outside "hiding" with DD so it's just me. We spent the rest of the day at the hotel.

My worst moment was on a Disney bus. Our DD uses a wheelchair full time. We LOVE Disney because she can go on alot of rides in her chair and the bus can take her in her chair. It makes a great trip for us!:thumbsup2

Anyway, we are never in a hurry. We are on vacation!:) We were leaving the MK after the fireworks. It was busy. We went to the line and waited for a bus to go to CBR. We waited in the HC line as marked. When the bus pulled up a lady in the line became VERY vocal. She started going on about wheelchairs. The bus driver waved us down and we went. Anyway we loaded as did the vocal lady. Well she never let up she went on and on and on about wheelchairs! When her stop at CBR came she got off and walked by my DD and said "bye wheelchair!" I was floored and it broke my heart. I looked at my DD and smiled and told her "We love you!" My DD was 16 at the time so she took in every word the lady said.:sad1: I wanted to tell the lady off but decided to be the better person. I also wanted to tell her my DD has a proper name!
ok rants over.

:scared1::scared1::scared1: are people that heartless and horrible??? :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Last August while on our week Disney vacation my drs office called with some results of some recent medical tests that I never thought twice about . We were about to walk into Epcot and took a few minutes in the bathroom to compose myself then joined my family . It has been a rough road since then but each day is a new day and looking forward to our trip this August . Not sure how I will feel when walking into Ecpot .

My worst was at the Neverland Club was when I was 6. They had some older arcade games (not the consoles they have now) and I was the first one to charge up to the pirate's ship and run to my favorite flight simulator game. Well apparently that particular game had been under repair earlier...and the repairman not only forgot to take his soldering iron, but he forgot to unplug it too. Did I mention I was a very inquisitive kid that loved to pick things up? Yep you guessed it...I grabbed the wrong end.

The funny thing with those kinds of burns is that they don't hurt right away, so I figured I was fine using my 6 year old "pain = hurt, no pain = ok" logic and did my best to protest the CMs calling the paramedics. (I was CONVINCED it was my fault and I'd be in a heap of trouble.) Well needless to say the CMs called and the paramedics responded within 5 minutes. They even brought me a stuffed Mickey! :thumbsup2

Bad enough right? Wrong...when it rains it pours. My parents walk in at the end of the night and are greeted by 3 CMs who immediately say "Hello Mr. and Mrs..............would you like to have a seat?"

My mother, having the type of unwavering faith that only a mother can have in her son, immediately said "WHAT did he do NOW?" Thanks mom. :confused3

Long story short, the paramedics come and go...and my parents were never called! They had their room number, their exact seats at the Hoop Dee Doo...and never called. In fact they hadn't even left the room AT THE POLY for their HDDR ressie when the whole thing happened! Needless to say they were not happy...:scared1:

If I remember correctly it was a case of one hand not knowing what the other is doing, and as a result they dropped the ball.

Less than a month afterwards, Disney instituted the pager system that they've been using ever since...so when you drop the kids off and they hand you the pager "just in case", think of me! :rotfl:

Hi Ladies,

These bra posts made me giggle, been there! I finally found a great bra made by Bali. It is from their "passion for comfort" line and it is wirefree. I am a D cup and have a hard time finding bras that fit right. I always get it at Kohl's and it is so comfortable I can sleep in it without discomfort! Just a tip!;)

Last time we went to WDW, we had lunch at Crystal Palace.
We were seated and drinks ordered.
We are told by our server to go help ourselves.
On our way up to the buffet another waitress came running over telling me that I needed to pay for my meal. I can't just leave without paying.

I told her we were just seated and heading to the buffet. She didn't believe me and was looking for our server. She told me to just stay there. Our server confirmed that was just arrived.
I got an apology by her quickly, but it sure was embarrassing. I was standing in the middle of a busy restaurant with other customers watching the entire thing.

I guess I looked like a deadbeat?? :confused3 I've NEVER seen this happen at any Disney restaurant we've been to.

It makes me think twice about going back to Crystal Palace.

The worst time I ever had at WDW was at Christmas in 2003. My parents and some close friends had arranged a trip with everyone in both families, so there were about 20 of us. My sister was the only one with kids, so she pouted and was mad everytime we went into the parks because she couldn't do what the rest of us did because she had 2 little kids with her. She wanted us to slow down and "be more sympathetic to her situation." She and my mom fought constantly during the trip because they both wanted to be in control and make all the decisions, so it became a "with me or against me" situation. My mom also expected everyone to do everything together, which really meant do what I want. The best day we had was at HS when we only met up for lunch and dinner so everyone could do their own thing. After that trip I told DH we were NEVER going to WDW with my entire family again.

A couple of summers later my sister and her family went for 10 days and my parents tagged along. My sister called me from WDW and complained nonstop about how controlling my mom was and how this was HER family vacation, not my mom's but yet my mom was trying to take over and make everything about her. After they got home, my mom called and talked about how controlling and stubborn my sister was and how inflexible she was to other people's needs. My brother also went along with my parents and when I talked to him, he said both Mom and sister were crazy and they drove everyone nuts. It was really funny for me, getting 3 different perspectives and stories all about the same trip!

While waiting for the AK parade, an egret pooped on my shoulder. Disgusting mess. A CM saw it and gave me a voucher for a new shirt, free. So that was OK, but I would rather have not been pooped upon.

September 2010 -
After a long day in the park and FINALLY doing Summit Plummet, my husband and I decided to jump in the lazy river for a few laps before leaving. We came close to an exit point and I went to push myself out of the tube when the plastic clip on my bikini top broke and my top flew off and almost into the river. I grabbed it real quick and then grabbed my tube and flipped on my stomach and screamed at my husband 'FIX IT! TIE IT! TIIIIIE ITTTTTT!'. Because it was a plastic clip and not a traditional tie back, there was almost no give to tie it, so he's trying so hard to tie it, and hurting me unintentionally. I tried really hard to be patient as a kid in goggles doggie paddled by asking me a million questions about how old I was, how old my husband was, how old my dad is...

I ended up having to buy a dress from one of the shops just to get back to the room comfortably.

January 2011-

Injured my foot to the point where I couldn't walk. I tried for 2 days to walk it off which only made it worse (surprise!). I spent a lot of the trip crying because I hated being in the chair and was in so much pain. It was my first trip with my brand new camera and was devastated I couldn't be more independent (and that so many people fell into my lap because they weren't paying attention)

My worst moment? It happens every trip. We have to check out and come home to the so-called real world.

Mine was sad-

I am a bit disney obsessed like many of us. I had been dating DBF for 2 years and had taken 2 Disney trips without him when we made plans to go. Wishes (plus Spectromagic) is my favorite thing ever. I actually moved our trip up a week so we would see Wishes and not HalloWishes because I needed to see WISHES with DBF like in my dreams.

Nov 2010.

Standing in the Rose Garden. Wishes is starting any minute. Photopass photographer on the grass, a couple walks onto the grass, first fireworks of wishes starts, this guy gets down on one knee and proposes. I'm crying with happiness (wishes+dream proposal=emotional girl). You can all imagine the scene.

DBF says "that's dumb" :scared1: I screamed at him after Wishes (he never understood why I was upset), cried my eyes out, vowed to have a good rest of the trip despite his comment.

The next day at Epcot he became stomach sick and spent most of the day in the room. I spent the time alone at Epcot wandering, just trying to enjoy myself after I bawled from disappointment.

The relationship wasn't salvageable after that although I tried so he's now ExDBF. It was the straw that broke the camels back.

My worst moment was this past Christmas. It was our first time to WDW having children adn we have a 2 and 3 year old. They overall did awesome and didn't have as many meltdowns as I was expecting. However, on Christmas Day my 2 year old son had a major meltdown and was kicking and just being awful. It became apparent that discipline was a must and we had to create a time out corner right by the castle. There is a booth next to the castle right by a bridge and we put him in the corner of the booth and the railing for a time out. He just screamed and we had our backs to him and the stares from the people are just crazy. Our rule is 1 minute per age, so he had to stay there for 2 minutes and then say sorry and then behave. Well it took a few time outs for him to say sorry and to act like a normal child but I know we did the right thing. He stopped the tantrum and was well behaved the rest of the day. I didn't even care what people were thinking because I knew we were doing what we needed to do, but I was just thinking, how many parents have I seen discipline their kids at WDW, none, what is wrong with me, but now I know it was the right thing to do.

I have done the EXACT same thing with my dd! She was about 2yrs old and having a horrible time listening. So I found our time out spot which was in the MK next to the noodle station bathroom. Noodle station wasn't open so it was nice and quiet over there. But as soon as I put her in time out and screaming and kicking and having a full out meltdown, it seemed like every single person in the park decided to use THAT bathroom. I got dirty looks galore! Plus then there were the ones who couldn't MYOB and started talking to her asking what's wrong and making comments. I nicely pointed out she was in time out and they were either understanding about it or asses.

I'm standing right there. My other children are standing nicely by the stroller. It's obvious she's not hurt or in any danger, so just mind your own business!!!!

A woman almost picked a fight with me and my DH in Disneyland's Pirates. I didn't want to become part of a 'Teacups' incident making national headlines for bad behavior, so I let it drop :lmao:

Now I can't stand that ride. The ride was boring *yawn* to begin with, but this incident just pushed Pirates out of my attraction list. Also, my entire view on American immigration laws changed in that moment.
