Your worst moment at a Disney park?

My worst moment happened 4 days before our annual Aug trip. I was with two of my children at an upscale shopping plaza. We are walking and all of a sudden I am on the ground, unable to get up. With some help of two very nice shoppers, I managed to get to a bench.. Long story short.... Injured lt knee, fractured rt wrist and fractured rt ribs...I manged to go,pushed in a wheelchair. I was able to go on very few rides. My husband says it was his best trip. I wasn't running him around crazy for 10 days.lol

I'd have to say my worst moment at Disney was the last time I went.. which was in 09 for a high school band trip where we'd be marching at Magic Kingdom! Well apparently someone on the trip had the flu. The first part of the first day we were there was a lot of fun... but then my throat starting KILLING me. By the time it was time to march in MK... about 11 or 12 of us had gotten the flu. I was the only one out of the flu bunch who went ahead and marched anyway. I don't regret it at all.... but I was soooo miserable!! The rest of the trip was awful. And to top it off once I got home I had to be put in the hospital for having only 80% oxygen and then had double pneumonia. Not fun.. at all.

But that wasn't Disney's fault at all! Just very unfortunate timing..

It was back in 2008 with me, my sister, and my niece. We were at DHS and it was about 1 hr before closing so we decided to go on RnRc. My niece wasn't tall enough nor did she want to go on, so we were going to do child swap. We had just done it on ToT and it worked great!. So the CM told us to get into line as normal and tell the CM up front we want to child swap. So we got to the front of the line and told them. My sister was going to ride first so the CM told me "go on the other side of the yellow door, wait, then come back out the yellow door"

(He failed to tell us to go down the hallway and wait in the gift shop for my sister. ) So we went through the yellow door as instructed and waited, and waited, and waited. in the meantime the same CM walked by us 5 times and didn't ask us what we were doing or asked if we needed help, nothing. so after waiting 30 mins, we walked into the gift shop wondering where in the world my sister went. By this time the ride was closed for the night, the park was closing, and no sister. :scared1: I didn't no what was going on.

We walked out the exit to find my sister freaking out and crying with about 8 CMs around her. She screamed at me "where the "f" where you" i looked at here with a blank stare and said "we went through the yellow door and waited" Then I saw a CM look at another with a mad look. My sister was furious  and yelled back "I told you they went through the yellow door and were in there! I told you!"

I guess she knew where we were but the CM wouldnt look because we "shouldn't have been there and someone would have noticed us" (remember the CM that walked by us multiple times) :confused3

Well lets just say, that was the LAST time we used child swap! It was horrible, i couldn't even imagine how my sister felt "losing" her princess. The CM's helping her felt super bad and gave us some fastpasses for the next day.

My worst moment was when I threw my wallet away. My license, CC, Disney Dollars, insurance card - GONE. In a trash can in a ladies room at Epcot. Had I realized it before leaving the park, I may have been able to rummage through trash (gross, I know!) - but I didn't realize it until I got to AKL for our dinner at Boma. Worst, worst, worst moment ever.

I have a couple... But I guess the more you go the more chances for issues. When I was a sr in high school my parents brought me and 3 friends to wdw for spring break. First day we went to mk - also easter Sunday. We were so busy running from ride to ride we didn't stop to eat. We met up with my parents in the hub for 3:00 parade and a couple of floats in my bff and i both passed out from the heat and lack of food. We were both taken on stretchers through the crowd to first aid. Good thing we weren't further away!

The next big issue was several years later - about 11 years I think. We were at the pool at cs - dh, me, my parents, sister and her kids and hubby. All of a sudden my. Sister and dad chime running over wi th my nephew who was about 2 at the time with blood gushing down his face. He tripped in the kiddie pool and had a big gash in his forehead. They spent the rest of the day at the hospital getting stitches. Its been a few years and he still has the scar. That night dh (dfiance then) and I headed to dtd for dinner and got into a huge fight. That day had been supposed to be our wedding date and it had been postponed and I was having a moment! Luckily I calmed down enough to salvage the night.

Most recent one was in September. Dh and i had our ds at the baby pool at bwv. I walked away. To refill our mugs and came back to dh yelling at me because he got impatient trying to put the baby in his stroller (nit sure why he as doing that anyway) and ripped the sunshade. W had a screaming match and I left with ds. 2 hours later dh came back with a new sunshade from the Orlando babies rus.

My worst day was a few years ago, a day at AK, and it was no fault of a CM or Disney at all. We had only been in the world for 3 days and DH ended up with a wicked awful sinus infection. He decided to go back to the hotel and rest and left my two daughters and I in the park. I lugged around our back pack, which was back in the day before we learned not to bother bringing a change of clothes and water and shoes and just about everything else that we never really needed in the run of the day.
Then we finally left for Boma at 4 for our supper reservation under the agreement that DH would meet us there....he didn't show, we waited for 45 minutes for him to arrive (thank God it wasn't booked solid). Finally, just as we were about to leave he showed up and I burst into tears. We ended up taking a taxi back to POP. I think that is why I don't ever want to eat at Boma again...sad tears in Disney is no fun at all.

1998 - 1st Disney trip at DL with kids, ages 5,7 and 8. I decided it would be a good idea to take them all on Space Mountain as the first ride because then "the biggest ride we be over and everything else would be easy." What was I thinking!?? For the rest of the trip, any ride with "space" or "mountain" in the name was a no-go; even Star Tours! Ugh - I still feel terrible, although the kids laugh about it now.

2006 - 1st WDW trip, DS#1 had an ingrown toe nail that got so bad that his toe was bleeding. He was 16 years old at the time and had been extremely stubborn about his choice of shoes for the trip  but I still felt badly for him.

September 09 Trip - DS#1 and I got into a shouting match in Fantasyland of all places! Ugh, so embarrassing. Like a PP, I had a big group with me and I was trying to make sure everyone had a good time. DS#1 was especially trying that trip and had just pushed me too far. I ended up in the bathroom by Peter Pan bawling my eyes out. Sigh.

Most of the memories are good though; our family loves to do Disney together - parks and movies!

Christmas night this year at Disneyland. The day was wonderful up until about 9:00 at night when the pouring rain started. We made the mistake of trying to leave, instead of finding a dry spot to wait it out. It seemed that every single one of the sold-out crowd decided to all leave at once. The mob in the hub and on Main Street were downright scary. Our jackets were also in a locker near the entrance, so in the hour it took us to make our way that far up the street, we were soaked to the bone. We then stood another 30 minutes out on the bus line waiting (without any cover overhead) for a bus back to our non-Disney hotel. We finally decided there were two buses worth of people in the "line" ahead of us for our bus, so when the first one still hadn't shown up, we gave up and walked the 1 1/2 miles back to our hotel. The hotel only had two dryers in the laundry room, which had both been claimed by the time we got there. We were checking out the next morning for an 8:00 flight, so didn't have any choice but to ask the front desk for a bunch of plastic bags and just pack the soaking wet clothes and shoes.

In 2009, before I discovered Teva's, I wore some cheap Target flip flops to AK. I went on Kali RR and was soaked. Apparently, my flip flops had no traction, so I spent the entire day slipping on every surface I stepped on. With every step, my flip flops would squeeze out more water and it was like I was ice skating through the whole park. By the time we left, my feet hurt so badly because all day I had been trying to use my foot muscles to stabilize myself. It was awful!!

In 2010, I discovered Teva's and I will NEVER wear anything else!!!

In 2009 DH hurt his foot our first full day at AK. *Unable to walk on it I pushed him in a wheelchair the rest of the trip. *Our last day we went to GF for breakfast. *We took the monorail and once at the station I started to back the wheelchair off. *Well as I was halfway down the ramp people were rushing to get on, cutting across the bottom of the ramp. *I'm holding the wheelchair with nowhere to go and yell the train isn't going anywhere people!! *I was so afraid I'd lose my grip. *I finally made it down and just started to cry hysterically. *It had been a long week and I was exhausted. *I think it also made me feel bad for families with loved ones in wheelchairs and what they have to go through everyday. *We ended up taking a cab back to our hotel because I couldn't go through that again.

During our 2009 trip DS decided to try and balance on a rope at Epcot. I was standing right next to him, but I was watching for DH to come out of the bathroom. Well out of the coner om my eye I see DS go flipping head first over the roap and landing head first on the concrete. I screamed because it was just awful the way he hit the ground. I asked nearest CM where first aid was but she didn't really know.:confused3 We finally find out where the first aid is and we take him over to get checked out. Luckily he was ok. They gave hime some advil and told us to call if we notice any changes. All this happened right before our dinner at Le Cellier. I was so upset I didn't enjoy dinner at all. Then two days later we were getting ready for our drive home and DS starts throwing up. Of course I was convinced he had a concusion so we took him to Centra Care. They checked him out and gave him something to stop the throwing up and sent us on our way. I was pretty stressed. No more rope balancing for DS.

We have been very lucky after reading these stories!
the first time we planned a trip with 2 kids at the time they were almost 3 and 4 1/2
we drove and had stopped at Myrtle beach for the night and day. My kids were soooo excited to be getting closer somehow as dh went to get some ice for our cooler my almost 3 year old fell off the bed and hit the metal frame. he did not cut his head but got a HUGE egg instantly. we had him checked out and he was fine but all my memorable Disney pictures I could not wait for all had this bruised alien looking egg right smack in the middle of his head! I am not talking the kind of mark you see only when someone mentions it I am talking WOW what is that on his head!!!

Mine was when we had to pack up and leave last year!!!
Looking forward to this August! (Well - maybe not August in WDW - but looking forward to WDW nevertheless!):rotfl2:

These days, scooters aren't allowed inside Ellen's Energy Adventure. You have to park your scooter outside and transfer to a wheelchair. Probably because of accidents like what happened to your child and the other one. It is pretty dark in the pre-ride area without worrying about scooters moving around.

MY WORST WDW MOMENT. I use a scooter and bring it with me to WDW. Last year DD, her BF, and I were at DHS and it was pouring buckets. We parked my scooter at RnR under some trees, and covered it with ponchos, and I transferred into a wheelchair for the ride. When we were done it was raining worse. We wanted to go to ToT, which also requires transfer to a wheelchair. So we just left my scooter covered up at RnR and DD pushed me towards ToT in the wheelchair. Since DD was pushing me, I was kind-of wrapped up like a mummy in my poncho. The street was all downhill, and all-of-a-sudden, I found myself free-wheeling and gathering speed. DD had lost her sandals in the downpour flowing down the street, and (not thinking) went back to get them, leaving me to fend for myself in a rolling wheelchair down an incline. It took a few moments to unwrap from my poncho and get control of the wheelchair. I got it stopped, and DD ran to me and said OOPS, SORRY MOM! :scared1:

Hahahahaha i seriously almost peed myself reading this lol your wordi g of the story is so hilarious. My husband thinks im insane cackling away over here lol

Standing at the Downtown Disney bus depot, waiting for a bus that would take us to CBR on Easter weekend. 20 minutes later it gets there. I'm already not feeling good. Stomach is bothering me and I'm hot. We get on the bus and the bus driver gets off of the bus. For *45* minutes!

Finally, when the bus leaves, it makes 3,203,397 stops at every resort and water park before finally taking us back to the CBR.

It was that day that made we swear off Disney busses for the rest of my life. I will never, ever, *ever* set foot on one again.

congrats on quitting smoking...from a fellow quitter 2 + years ago.
(it gets easier...believe me) Anyways I can relate with the buses..but we still use them...we just try not to use them at busy times...;)

The worst was in 1999 back before everyone had a cell phone. My brother who was 16 went to do something or the other and my dad told him to meet him back at the castle. Well, that's awful vague so of course they were not in the same spot. The park closed, my mom was beside herself. Some of us went back to BC where we were staying to see if he had simply decided to go back to the room when he couldn't find us. I remember my mom just balling. Usually you lose a little kid, you don't think you'll lose a teenager! He was missing for a good 3 or more hours before we finally got reconnected. The CMs were great every step of the way but that was not fun!

And quite a bit less awful, but when we were at MK for the day in Dec. we staked out a spot for the parade. We had my boys in their strollers wrapped in blankets because it was freezing and my dad had gotten them a snack. At the last second this little boy pushes his way in between our strollers and stands right in front of my 1 year old. No biggie, I want every kid to see, so we take turns holding him instead, but then then more people push in to the left so the little boy moves futher and further until my other ds who is 4 could barely see even though we've been there for a good 30 min. I have no idea where this kids parents were, but I spent most of the parade bent over making sure my son could see and telling this kid to back off so he could see. And I'm not really sure he understood English. :confused3

ANOTHER WORST MOMENT, same trip to WDW last year. Space Mountain was renovated, but I hadn't been on it since before I lost my leg. I have a prosthetic leg, and with the help of DD and her BF, I thought maybe I should give it a try. BIG MISTAKE.

I was put in the front seat and it was really tight for my prosthetic. When the bar came down, it landed right on the button that I press to release the leg and take it off. So during the ride, with all the high G-forces, my prosthetic leg was unattached and being pulled off. When the ride ended, a wheelchair was brought to the side of the car and I made it into the seat, but my prosthetic leg didn't come with me. As I got farther into the wheelchair, it looked like my leg was getting longer and longer. It was just that it was detached, but a few people's eyes got really HUGE! We quickly scrambled to the rest room and I got the leg back on. But I will NEVER ride Space Mountain again! :sad2:

ALl of our worst moments have to do with DH.

On one trip we were on the land ride and he started to not fell. He looks at me and says, "should I puked in the water over the boat or in my jacket?" I actually told him overboard :confused3 There was no way I was going to be able to wash the jacket. Thankfully he was able to wait until we got off the ride.

Another trip he lost our 18 month old DS. He was frantic, but the good news was DS had made his way to me and I had him. I thought DH was watching and I could see DH. I had no idea he didn't know where he was.

The other time DH threw his back out. He picked up DD about 7 and put her over his head on his shoulders. Not sure what he did. Good thing we were with my cousin and her family. She is a walking pharmacy. She gave him some great drugs to help with the pain. He could help at the airport on the way home when I had luggage and kids 7, 3 and 2.

None of these were Disney's fault except when DH almost puked in the Land. He had food poisoning we think from chicken that hadn't been cooked well. I happens to him frequently with chicken so now he avoids it at WDW.

My worst moment was a few years ago I started to feel nauseous after the Stitch attraction at MK. I sat through Monsters Inc. feeling worse and worse. I sat in Crystal Palace while everyone else ate around me. Of course this was with birthday decorations on the table for my sons :sad2:. Finally, I gave up and put my head down on the table - this is when the server insisted I go to first aid. I then proceeded to throw up - repeatedly :sad1:. I even had to go to Urgent Care and they diagnosed it as a kidney infection. This of course, was my parents' first trip to WDW. What a mess!

My second worst moment was when I encouraged my DS to walk real fast to catch a bus at MGM (at the time) - and he ran into the rope causing a huge ugly rope burn down the entire length of his face :guilty:. The guilt was huge and a lesson was learned - sadly at my son's expense.

can I write about somebody else's worst day. I was a witness, and it was both the funniest/worst thing I've even seen at WDW.

DH and I were waiting for Illuminations on the bridge to Mexico. We were standing near this family with two small kids, one in a stroller. The dad comes of the cantina with a big tray of food and margaritas and proceeds to try and balance it on the top of the stroller.

In my head I'm screaming "NO" (because every mom knows that balancing things on the handle of a stroller is a bad idea), but before I could say anything the ENTIRE tray of food flipped over on top of the little boy in the stroller. It was like watching in slow motion. Suddenly the poor little boy was covered in nacho cheese and margarita, it was all over the stroller and all on the ground.

Of course the poor little boy starts crying, the mom starts screaming at the Dad, and DH and I decide to find a quieter place to watch Illuminations.

I'm sure in that moment it was the worst possible thing that could have happened, but think of the story they have to tell. I'm sure it has since gone down in family lore.
