Your worst moment at a Disney park?

lol at the fights! We have done it too! We had one in EPCOT in 2009. It was pouring rain when we came out from Soarin', I wanted to go back inside and wait in line....again for Soarin. It was pouring and I didn't want to get wet. Oh, and I didn't want the kids to get wet. DH was in a rush to get somewhere I don't remember the exact details. He rushed out in the rain....and I had to follow to ask him "what the h*** was wrong with him". So, there we are in the rain yelling at each other and I saying I just wanted to stay dry. On the sideline, dry, are tons of people waiting out the rain, our 2 kids, and MIL. :scared1:

My worst "moment" occurred a few years ago at MVMCP. It was one of those days when it was fairly warm during the day, but it got cool in the evening - not cool enough for a jacket, but almost. We went on Splash Mountain and literally could not have gotten more wet if we jumped in the ocean! We stopped in the rest room to take our clothes off and wring them out, they were so wet. So of course now we were freezing. We spent about two hours trying to find heat sources until we dried off (note - the engines on the Jungle Cruise put out a lot of heat :thumbsup2). We were staying at a resort too far away for a quick change of clothes, and we were just miserable.

June 2009 we were at Epcot and had just finished up dinner in France (and getting to see Remy!)

My daughter was walking up to the Japan kidcot spot to have her passport done and she proceeds to throw up all over! It was everywhere, not to mention my flip flops. Needless to say the Japan kidcot spot was closed for a little while.

She had her picture taken with Bell right before and everytime I look back at the picture I see her pale face that we somehow hadn't noticed at the time.

Mine was at Epcot last fall. It was our first day of vacation and I had gotten Fastpasses for test track, then we went to eat lunch and the Electric Umbrella. As we were sitting there, I was looking through my purse and realized I had left one of our park tickets in the fast pass machine :scared1:

I had bought the tickets through Undercover Tourist, so my ticket purchase wasn't in Disney's system. But fortunately, and thanks to Disboards, I had taken photos of the backs of all our tickets and Guest Services replaced the missing 7-day w/hopper ticket at no charge. Whew!!!!

In Oct 08, I had plans to go on a weekend trip with a friend -- just us, no husbands or kids. My younger DS had been having serious anxiety issues and I had been very stressed, and thought I should cancel the trip to stay home with him. The school, my parents, and my DH insisted that I go, since there was nothing I could really do over the weekend anyway for him (he was scheduled to start an out-patient anxiety program the next Tuesday, which was extremely stressful to me). My friend and I had been planning this trip for almost a year -- we had tickets to MNSSHP and were really excited about the F&W thing. So we went -- but my heart wasn't in it! And I had been having problems with pain in my left foot -- by the time we were going through the party, I had had it. I was having a very nice time with my wonderful understanding friend, but between the lack of sleep (never sleep well in a hotel), the stress and worry, and the foot pain -- turned out to be severe arthritis -- I was done. My friend was very sweet, and we gave up on the rest of the party and headed back to the room. We made it through one more day, but I was glad to get back home.

:goodvibes You can use the "patch" tool in Photoshop. DH says (I've been reading these aloud to him) it will work wonders. Like a new, eggless head.

We have been very lucky after reading these stories!
the first time we planned a trip with 2 kids at the time they were almost 3 and 4 1/2
we drove and had stopped at Myrtle beach for the night and day. My kids were soooo excited to be getting closer somehow as dh went to get some ice for our cooler my almost 3 year old fell off the bed and hit the metal frame. he did not cut his head but got a HUGE egg instantly. we had him checked out and he was fine but all my memorable Disney pictures I could not wait for all had this bruised alien looking egg right smack in the middle of his head! I am not talking the kind of mark you see only when someone mentions it I am talking WOW what is that on his head!!!

Despite our many trips I had to rack my brains to think of my worst moment at Disney. For a moment I thought about choosing the moment when I was eight years old and, on the way back to our car, broke away from my aunt and doubled back to the tram, hopping on and riding it back to the gate. I didn't get back in, needless to say, and was retrieved by my aunt. But while it may have been the worst moment for my aunt, I was still more upset that we were leaving.

But this next one is more recent and even better, humiliating. After a long day at the parks my sister and I REALLY wanted to go in a hot tub. We were fortunately staying at the Polynesian, which unfortunately (and inexplicably) does not possess a hot tub. No matter; we put on some flip flops and plodded along the scenic walk over to the Grand Floridian. I decided to wear my silk short robe as a bathing suit coverup, and my sister just wraps up in a towel, as we aren't going far.

The hot tub really hit the spot, but then we realized we were hungry. We didn't want anything there or at Captain Cook's, so we decided to hop on the Monorail over to the Contemporary. It was so late we had the monorail to ourselves, so we decided to run a crazy relay race bouncing over the seats and swinging from the hand rails. In our crazy exuberance, we didn't stop to think that maybe the monorail was so empty because it was the last monorail of the night.

We get to the Contemporary, in wet bathing suits and towels, and get some grub. Afterwards, of course, we learn there's no more monorails or buses tonight. The valet tells us we could call a taxi, or walk. And we decide... how far can it be?... to walk.

There's no PATH from the Contemporary to the Poly. There's just that big old road, like walking along the side of a highway at night. There was even a tunnel. And along we paraded, with cars and buses passing us, all watching two girls walking along in flip flops and towels and a shiny, reflective, short, victoria freaking secret robe! What a sight. But that wasn't the worst of it-- the worst was the last part of the journey. To get back to our hotel, we had to cross the ticketing center. The ticketing center that was lit up with flood lights and filled with workers doing night maintenance. Talk about your walk of shame! I decided to just smile and nod at them and pretend like it was perfectly normal for me to be walking across the ticketing center at 2 a.m. in my bathing suit and bedroom robe. My poor sister beside me wrapped in a towel. It probably took us about twenty minutes but it was the very longest twenty minutes that I can remember. It felt like we were walking for hours. My sister STILL blushes when I mention it.

My worst moment was when I went with DH a few years ago. I'm not a big ride person, I like the tame rides but not roller coasters or spinning rides. My DH managed to drag me on Astro Orbiter. I didn't think it would be too bad as long as we stay as low as possible...but my lovely husband put it as high as it would go. The spinning and the height were freaking me out. I was shaking and close to tears when we got off. So we proceed to Space Mountain afterwards. I had never been on it, so I decided to give it a go since I knew it didn't actually go that fast. Bad idea!! After those two rides in a row I was not in a good mood and wanted to cry. The rest of the trip I stuck with the rides I knew and had been on before!

That's too bad you were so afraid on Astro Orbiter. The views from it, while at it's highest, are excellent!

Luckily I didn't have to witness it, but our worst moment at a Disney Park would have to be at the MK when my husband was watching our 3 yr old while I take our other DS5 on Stitch. We got off the ride and we find my husband and DS3 and my husband has this crazy smile and huge eyes. He says "well it's a good thing I waited out here and you went on the ride with DS5". I said "oh no, what happened?" DS3 was complaining of being hot and thirsty and he saw some milk I guess at one of the carts somewhere and i think my husband got a coffee. They bring their drinks back to sit nearby outside of Stitch. My DH give DS3 the bottle of milk and turns away, looks at his phone, etc. About 45 seconds later, he hears DS3 saying his tummy hurt. Then he realizes, he's downed the whole bottle!!!! 10 seconds later......you guessed it  The CM's were calling the clean up crews. DH said he heard a crowd of people go "Eeeewww" LOL. The little guy was completely fine afterward and now we have this funny story of how he grossed out all of these people at the MK :) That's the worst thing that's ever happened to us at Disney.

Every trip at least one or two things go wrong. Like last trip when my knees went out and I had to rent a scooter. Not fun. :sad2:

But my worse trips are the ones I took DHDH on. (DHDH =Disney Hating DH). He whines, complains, and acts like a spoiled two year old at WDW. The first trip we stayed 4 days and he complained the entire time that he missed the cats. And I mean constantly complained - he grumbled, argued, and was a big pill. He had screaming and yelling tantrums a few times a day. It was embarrassing. :sad1:

Then over NYE last year he wanted me to take him back to WDW. I reluctantly agreed, and he was such a :headache: that I swore after that trip I'd never take him back. Among other things he threw a tantrum when he couldn't find anything at the resort to do at 3:00 am. Like who besides him is awake at that hour? The capper was when he insisted we go home on NYE day, missing the last two days of the trip - that I had paid rack rate for at BWI. I spent NYE in the car driving while listening to him snore. Of course he slept the whole way home. :headache:

I'm doing a solo trip in April - guess who's not invited? ;)

Leaving. :(

Though the 2-3 hour wait for Tower of Terror I experienced in 1996 was a real pain.

My wife and I had an ugly shouting match at the front gate of Animal Kingdom in 2005 over sunscreen. She had about 4 small pink plastic bottles of different brands of "tear free" sunscreen for babies; she had decided (before the trip!) that only one of them was really tear free but she insisted on holding onto and bringing ALL OF THEM with us on vacation, and was furious that I had brought the wrong one to AK with us. It wasn't the first time something like this had happened; in similar manner she had bought multiple types of baby bottles or pacifiers or who knows what, decided that only one type was suitable, but kept the rest around for no apparent reason other than to be decoys; so this was really a bigger conflict that had been building up for a while. I got finally furious right back at her and we became that couple that everyone was walking around nervously, and the nearby CMs were watching uncomfortably.

We have a great picture in our living room of ourselves all smiles with Minnie at Camp Minnie-Mickey about an hour later! :thumbsup2

My worst moment was when I "lost" my 8 year old daughter in MK for what seemed like an hour(yet only 10 minutes). That was the longest 10 minutes of my life. And I only glaced down at my park map for a second.

Mine was when I had to defend my wife from an assault. Guy decided to climb under the railing on Everest and when my wife said something to the CM, he went nuts. I took care of the matter quickly, and the Disney folks took care of the rest.

Then there was the time I blew my Knee out about 4 hours after checkin. Spent the week in an Electric Cart. While the cart worked well, the week was lousy.

DH and I stayed at Pop not long after it opened for our Disneymoon. The first night we were heading back to the room after a long day. We were chatting and not really watching where we were walking, though we were on the sidewalk in the main area of the resort just past the pool. DH falters in his steps a bit and I look down to see that he has just stepped on a snake! :scared1: I am totally phobic about snakes! I felt like a cartoon where the body is still, but the legs are moving. I took off running and screaming. I could not see where I was going, I was just running! :lmao: DH said he found me by following the screams! Thankfully it did not bite him!

So what is your worst moment at a disney park?

mine is the last trip in September we were at animal kingdom and the wire in my bra decided it was done and snapped in half LOL

I didn't have another bra with me and we had already gotten a REALLY late start to the day (like think NOON) and then we had dinner reservations for 6 so I didn't have time to go change bras.

So the whole day and even I walked around with a wire snapped in half stabbing me the whole time and making my bra fit weird.

extremely uncomfortable lol. What a time for that to happen. I swear that is my biggest pet peeve... snapping wires in bras (this is a regular occurance for me haha) and to happen at a Disney park? that's just cruel and unusual punishment :lmao:

so what is your worst moment?

At Animal Kingdom.... rode Kali, DH and I got SOAKED! Of course I was wearing a light pink shirt.... that decided to go see-through when wet!!! :rolleyes1

My worst moment to tell is not really about me but my cousin who I was with on a day in MK in 1988. I was 7 and she 8 and our parents to us to MK for one day of our trip. Mid-morning she got heat stroke and puked in the flower bushes and had to be taken to first aid. She spent the rest of the day there while we toured the MK. She missed out on most of our only day there.

Here is another puke story ... sorry it affedted anyone 11 years ago.
Our DS - then age 7 - said his tummy felt a bit bad after eating Mac&Cheese on a warm June day.

We were trying to exit EPCOT - to the bus for our resort.
Well it happened...
We were about 15 feet away from the bathrooms near Inovations - our DS and morified DH never made it to the bathroom.

My DS had his incident in the grassy bush area near Inovations.
DH took him into the bathroom for a quick clean up.
I, DW, found a CM and apologized again and again. I even offered to clean it up. I was so sorry we never made it to the bathroom.

The CM's were so polite and said they would call someone to clean up the area. I assume some landscapers came by too to help the plants.

For the whole week while we were in WDW - I was so afraid to show my face in EPCOT. I kept thinking other guests were looking at my family saying - "that boy watered the EPCOT plants with puke" :rotfl:

Minor things on our October trip - my kids could not stop picking on one another and fighting in line. DH and I had to stand between them. I wore crocs without socks to HS, and got blisters almost immediately. It was the day I forgot to pack the first aid kit - but I got them bandaged up and DH had some tube socks in his bag that I put on. I was a happy camper after that - but I got some funny comments from CM's about my footwear.

The worst, though, was trying to get on our Disney Cruise. My girls were 3 & 4, and unfortunately I did not plan to get to the port until the day of the cruise, and our flight was delayed due to fog. We were told we would not be able to get to Orlando until the following day because the only connecting flgiht was full. I started crying at the ticket counter and a kind woman took pity on me and put us on standby.

We had only 5 minutes to make our connection. So before we landed, I begged the flight attendant to let us get off first. We threw the kids in our arms with all our carry-on gear and ran full speed, through the airport, to the gate. We just barely made it. I am sure some kind people were bumped from that flight for us. And I am truly grateful.

When we landed in Orlando a DCL person met us at the gate and ran us to the empty waiting DCL bus. We made it on the bus, to the port and to the ship - which was just getting ready to leave.

We missed most of the sail away party. But what we missed most - was our luggage, which didn't make the connection. DCL and Delta gave us a $300 credit to use in the gift shops to buy a few things. I had a couple of outfits and bathing suits packed in our carry-ons. We bought princess dresses for the kids for formal night, and DCL loaned DH and I formal wear (we looked awesome!). DCL also provided toiletries and bath robes for us to wear and they washed our clothes every night.

There was one night, though where we took the girls to dinner in dresses with no underwear :scared1:.

DCL and Delta flew our luggage to St. Maarten where it arrived at our door before we disembarked for the day. It took a couple of days after that for us to settle in - and then it was time to go home!
