Your worst moment at a Disney park?

Honestly with all these stories I probably shouldn't post ... but someone may get a kick out of my little story.

First time at Disney, we were in the MK and we got one of those afternoon showers that has everyone scrambling for cover. We waited it out in one of the shops, and, as it does in Florida, the skies cleared and all was well.

We left the shop and I noticed on the sidewalk this itty, bitty frog - like the size of my thumbnail. He was so cute! But he was right in the middle of the walkway, so I stopped, 'rescued' him and placed him in the green next to the sidewalk.

Started back off. Oh look! Another little frog! And another! OMG - there were like 1000 tiny frogs in front of me, and people were walking on them and running stollers over them! I turned green, I just know I did, but managed to not toss my lunch.

Ok - I realize I was being overy sensative - but after rescuing one of them I wanted to rescue them all and was horrified that other people didn't care.

Now it seems just a bit silly... but at the time, it wasn't very 'magical'...

Tell me about the frogs, Mixie, quid pro quo.

extremely uncomfortable lol. What a time for that to happen. I swear that is my biggest pet peeve... snapping wires in bras (this is a regular occurance for me haha) and to happen at a Disney park? that's just cruel and unusual punishment :lmao:

I am so glad to hear that I am not the only one that this happens to! i have never had it happen at Disney though!

My worst moment was at EPCOT, waiting for Illuminations to start and I went looking for my FIL. As I was passing someone using a video camera i bent down to be out of their shot. Anyway as I was walking bent over I picked up speed and then couldn't stand back up again and kept going right on my face in front of a souvenir cart. I was humiliated! Spent the rest of the trip with a black eye and a huge bruise on my waist/stomach where my camera was hanging. :headache:

I was then left with a guilty feeling for saying excuse me in such a nasty way.

Please don't feel badly about that. Odds are, if he didn't have enough social skills to understand that what he was doing was inappropriate, he wouldn't have picked up your tone of voice, either. ;) And how's he ever going to learn what's socially inappropriate if no one ever tells him? :confused3 Besides, I've known people diagnosed with autism who like rude people (or at least people with the reputation of being rude), because they're tired of not knowing why people are avoiding them or not knowing what they did wrong, and prefer to hang around with someone who tells them straight out what the problem is! :upsidedow

My family and I were sitting in Nemo the Musical…LOVED IT…and the family behind us consisted of Mom+Dad and 3 kids ages 6 and under. They had the typical I want this, no you cannot have it, then give in and give it to them going on. I hate that!!! If you say it, then you better mean it!

Their youngest was probably about 2. She kept kicking me and my DD in the back and the head. I was grossed out on many levels, b/c I hate having things from the floor touching me…much less my hair! :sad2:

I politely told the Mom (she was holding her DD) that the toddler was kicking us. She apologized and it stopped for a couple of minutes. It happened again; she acknowledged it and I knew she was trying, but dang…This went on until I finally turned around and told her she needed to make it stop…NOW… She gave all the lame excuses about how her DD was tired and that they were at Disney after all. Really? Just b/c you are at Disneyworld I should let your DD kick me and mine in the head? At this point her DH moved seats and left her with all three kids. :scared1:

It was quiet for a minute or two. Then is started again… I turned around and spoke with her about it again. She went off on me about how I must be a perfect mother since my kids were sitting still and maybe we should trade. I declined the offer! At this point, everyone around us was done! People on both sides of us were moving over so we could clear the space in front of them. It was terrible!

I loved the show, it was AWESOME despite that nasty family, but I was doubly angry when I found out after the show that the same thing was happening to my DS and hubby. My DH has the patience of Job and never said anything. I was only able to keep my cool b/c I know my DS hates it when I lose my temper and I did not want to ruin the show for him. 99.9% of the time I keep it under control but a red-head can only take so much!

Leaving the last park - at the end of the day - on our last day there. Always brings a lump to my throat!

The year I had to have unplanned knee surgery two weeks before leaving. I had to use a wheelchair and doc ok'd trip. It was not a crowded time of year.

DH & I are sitting with no one really near us watching a parade when this
grandma comes up from behind and leans over the back of my wheelchair with her granddaughter on her shoulders to reach for a character who had come over to high five me...can you see what happens next:confused3?!!! That lady dumps her granddaughter right onto my newly surgeried knee and then proceeds to yell at me when I begin to cry! :scared1: Thankfully CM's saw everything she did and escorted her somewhere--not sure where and gave me a ring side seat that night with the YOAMD castle winners to watch the parade. :goodvibes

Having just returned this weekend, I now have more than a few things to add, but I'll just give you guys this one. DD5's fifth birthday (last Monday, President's Day)....had BBBoutique in 90 minutes, CRT booked for lunch with a cake being delivered from the Contemporary, engraved glass slipper, 'champagne' toast, whole 9 yards...

....so we are all eating breakfast at Kona Cafe at 7:30 in the morning of this super busy oh so special day, and the birthday girl takes 2 sips of apple juice, wants none of her food, then looks around at everyone and projectile vomits all over the ENTIRE table, everyone's food, drinks, etc.

Poor DH actually tried to catch some of it in his hat. :rotfl:

Back to our resort, many tearful moments at Concierge desk trying to figure out how--if at all--- the stuff I had already paid a bajillion dollars for could be rescheduled and where I could get a thermometer to take DDs temperature.

The waitress at Kona was amazing, though. She packed all of us up new, hot, fresh breakfasts to take back to the room with us.

Ug!! Poor little princess!! I'm a sympathetic puker, if someone around me tosses their cookies, mine are soon to follow!!

We had just arrived at Wilderness Lodge to start our honeymoon. We'd had a long day of travel and we were tired from the wedding the day before. I opened my luggage and discovered I had forgotten my tennis shoes! I had taken them into the bride's room with me at the wedding, and one of my bridesmaids had put them in the wrong bag when she was packing things up. So I was at Disney with only a pair of less-than-comfortable sandals. I was so tired from the wedding and long day of travel, and burst into tears. My poor husband probably wondered what he had gotten himself into! Happily I found out that Team Mickey sold shoes!

Was on a crowded bus after MK fireworks back to the all star resorts and was one of the first families on. My MIL and DW (holding DD3) stayed seated, but I stood and had my DS6 stand as well to allow either the elderly or women sit. As soon as we stand, two teenage boys take our seats! I look at an older gentleman sitting next to his wife and said "That's not what was supposed to happen." He nodded in agreement and offered to hold my stroller so I could keep one hand on my boy. I did use it as an example for my son though, on what not to do if someone gives up their seat!

First time to Disney we were having lunch at Pecos Bills.....placed our order and paid...then we waited and waited...people on either side of us were getting their food. DD3 was having a meltdown, she was hungry. AFter about 15 minutes they told us they had run out of paper at the printer in the back to print out our orders to be filled but it was getting fixed. They had no manual system for getting our food. The young people behind the counter just kept saying, "its coming"....seriously, they must have been out of paper in the restaurant for that printer. FINALLY at 30 or 35 minutes we reluctantly got a refund and they gave us our lunch. The manager was STRESSED he was on his walkee talkee saying "hurry up with the paper we are losing money out here". I was shocked that they had no workaround.

For quickserve, it wasn't and you know time is a valuable commodity at the kingdom!

100+ degrees, Summer in June, 60+ minute wait for Jungle Cruise. Never again. They needed mops in that que that day.

mine was in '08 and it was christmas eve in MK...i know you guys probably think we were crazy to go to MK on christmas eve haha...:rolleyes1 anyway.. right after the fireworks (as you know) there is a mad rush for the exit, so we decided to go back to tomorrowland and ride some rides before we leave...and as we were making our way over there, some lady with a huge double stroller was pushing her way towards tomorrowland as well and me and my cousin(we were 12 or 13 at the time) and she was pushing the stroller into the back of out legs yelling at us to get out of the way(she actually pushed my cousin over-like to the ground-and that took alot considering we were packed like sardines with 1000's of other people on all sides of us), and then my grandma got involved and there was a moment that was not disney-friendly :rotfl: besides all that i think it took us like an hour and 15 minuets to get to tomorrowland from main street, gotta love disney at the holidays ;)

probably a lame story compared to ^^ the ones above, but my situation just ruined the disney magic, and especially on christmas eve...

I have to say, what I pictured as a magical Honeymoon was pretty much a "wash out" (pardon the pun!) during the torrential rains in May of 09. Everything we planned pretty much was a disaster. Two outdoor photo sessions cancelled...evening EMH on the first full day of married life, Wishes was cancelled because of lightening. We even waited an hour for Test Track, and were going to be in the next car, and the ride was closed due to weather. We scored ressies for a romantic dinner at Le Cellier, and we were both soaked and shivering so bad, and with the air conditioner blasting (we did wear ponchos, but they don't work too well in horizontal rain) that we couldn't enjoy the meal.

And you know what disappointed me the most? Okay, this is really silly and a little spoiled, but hey, I was the bride....We couldn't wear our bride and groom "ears" because of the rain. (it's the little things in life that make me happy!)

Yeah, I know that we should have been happy, no matter what....but I had planned all these romantic special events and things for the most special week of our lives, and they all pretty much just all went "down the drain". :(

Two years ago, President's day weekend, I took my three younger children and mother to Disney World. On Saturday, we went to the Magic Kingdom and DD(5) got her leg/knee stuck in the wooden railing at the SM train stop. EMT was called, much fretting occurred and DD(5) had a day in the Magic Kingdom that she will NEVER forget. :lmao:

My first trip to Disney was in 99 with my husband, his parents, his uncle, his sister and her husband. I didn't see the point of going without kids (wish I knew then what I know now). The whole trip was pretty awful. We stayed off site at an icky house that ended up being about a 45 min drive from the parks. None of us knew a thing about WDW....we were "those people". We came the week of Xmas and actually went to MK on Xmas day thinking it would be slow. That was a nightmare.....all I ever saw were heads and shoulders.

But the worst part was at Epcot. The men in the group wanted to ride test track but the ladies didn't. We picked a place to wait for them. Sort of "hey we will wait for you right here until you are finished" sort of thing. They never came back. We waited for hours ....about 4 hours on a bench somewhere in Future World. We never saw anything, never did anything, because they were supposed to come back after the ride. Meanwhile the boys were off seeing anything and everything. I even think we had a cell phone (maybe-did people have cell phones in 99) or walkie-talkies but the guys never answered. When they showed up laughing and having fun we almost killed them. In retrospect we should have had a better plan. But at the time we were afraid to leave that bench because we had promised to wait there.

After that trip I started researching....now we are the comando type. and we don't go with the in-laws.

On one of our recent visits to EPCOT, we had reservations at one of our favorite restaurants -- Le Chefs de France. The park wasn't very crowded, it was a beautiful day and we were so happy to be eating there. We placed our orders, they brought out the bread and shortly after that our soup. I was eating some of the crunchy bread and I thought something tasted funny. Hmmm. I kept eating. Finally, I asked my SO if maybe my lip was bleeding? She had a look and said, yup, it was. So I started dabbing at it with my napkin. It just kept getting worse and bleeding more and more. The waitress obviously noticed because she showed up with a pile of napkins. I finally went to the ladies room where I tried cold water, holding paper towels compressed on it ... the moment I would let go of it, it would start spurting blood again. I went out to the front of the restaurant and asked if they could get me an ice pack to put on. The manager came over and took me and sat me down. Got me an ice pack and did everything he could to help me. But after I sat there for 15-20 minutes with no change, he finally said I'd better go to first aid. He collected my SO and told me not to worry about our lunches -- he said to just ask for him when we came back and he'd see we got seated right away! So we had to go across the park to first aid. Once there, they basically just continued with the ice packs and put some gauze on it. Finally it stopped and we were able to go back and finish our lunches. It was very bizarre. That has NEVER happened to me before -- nothing like it -- and it has never happened again since, either! The next day, my lip looked perfectly normal. You couldn't even tell it had been cut!
