Yep, just plug it into a car adapter and you can play it through the speakers.

Even worse, I don't even have a mix CD - I still use a CD changer. DH has them on his IPod, though.

This is putting me in the mood for a road trip!

I'm glad you posted this. I suggested to my boys that they start making a CD mix for our SW trip in July. DH looked at me like I had three heads. Hello - 4,000 miles in 14 days, I think we might want a little music to sooth the savage beast. DOn't know what kind of radio reception to expect - some of those areas are rather remote. (See signature countdown)

The CD will definitely have The Eagles - "Take It Easy" as in "Standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona..." We will be stopping in Winslow to see Meteor Crater. There is actually a "Standing on the Corner Park" in town - complete with a statute.

lilly, I didn't know I was 5 years older than you. now I feel really old. the whole family can listen to the Ipod if you play it through car's system. I don't take them to SK however, that sand doesn't come out of anything.

Well McBean - if it makes you feel any better DH is 5 years older than you! and I hear ya on the sand.....no matter how much I get my car detailed....there is always sand somewhere!


I like the "Schools Out" idea!! Ummm maybe Holiday by Madonna? or isn't there a GO GO's vacation song?

Funny to see this thread because my DD15 and I are heading out on a road trip in a few days, driving from Maine to South Carolina. As Jimmy Buffett says, "I gotta go where it's warm!"

My daughter mixed a CD for us to listen to on the trip. She tried to find songs that both of us would like, summer tunes from my "era" and some popular tunes from today. I must say she did an excellent job!

When we tire of that CD, daughter has her IPOD that she can listen to that has a trillion songs she's put on it. She also can plug her IPOD into the car and we can both listen to it, (some of her songs are okay, others I insist she put the earplugs in for!), and I have two CD's that my oldest daughter burned for me as a gift on my last two birthdays. I've just about worn those two CD's out. I love them!

Anyway, I'll be listening to:

lots of Jimmy Buffett
The Beatles
Stevie Wonder
Simon and Garfunkle
The Beach Boys
Hall and Oates
the soundtrack from Forrest Gump

Of course, we always start out with that old favorite "On The Road Again" by Willie Nelson

Since we're leaving for WDW in less then 3 weeks, I have to compile some CD's to put together for the trip. Here are some of my dh and myselfs fave road songs.

Wow, I have some Ramones on my Ipod--Blitzkrieg and Rock and Roll Radio, plus Rock and Roll High School, Sheena is a Punk Rocker and the KKK took my Baby Away.
I have a separate Buffett playlist, and also a separate Buffett CD to play when it gets warm like this. On my vacation CD list I also have the Beach Boys and a mix of songs that are Disney and/or Disney Cruise like (such as "Hey Baby").
No one is too old to have an Ipod. I got one last year for my 42nd BDay and I won't be parted from it!
