1. Stay onsite, but don't blow your budget to stay somewhere you can't afford; the monorail isn't all it's cracked up to be; the Contemporary and the value resorts share many of the same benefits.
2. Use Disney's transportation, and don't complain if you wait five minutes for the next bus -- you'd spend much more than that walking to your car, driving to the park, finding a parking space . . .
3. Plan one big sit-down meal per day, the supplement with snacks and counter-service meals; make your reservations as soon as possible.
Take advantage of Disney's uniquely themed restaurants -- you can eat at TGIFriday's or the Olive Garden at home!
4. Plan a down-day mid-week, or you'll burn out before your vacation's over.
5. Take advantage of early entry days, then switch to another park mid-day when that park becomes crowded. If you're not going to arrive until 3:00 in the afternoon, don't pay for a park hopper for your arrival day -- that's money wasted! Disney has plenty of things to do without spending a park hopper day.
6. Take advantage of E-ticket nights at the Magic Kingdom. They are the best!
7. Make a "plan of attack" for each day's park visits, but don't be afraid to vary the plan when necessary.
8. Visit when the park has long hours (summer!) so that you can take a lengthy mid-day break and still have plenty of cool, evening hours in the parks. This requires planning, but is much better than off-season.
9. Skip the overpriced "free refill" soda mugs; you can't drink $10 worth of soda in a week, and even if you could, you shouldn't. Instead, bring your own sodas from home. Your whole family can drink sodas all week for $10, and you won't have to wash or tote the mug.
10. Take plenty of pictures!
