Your thoughts on Yak and Yeti

We also tried it right after it opened and hated it, but went back in August of this year and LOVED it!! Ate there again in October and it was still great - we'll be eating there again in January. Just a random note, if you get the egg roll appetizer OR the egg roll "side" we were informed that both come with two egg rolls.... The appetizer costs more, though. So if you do want egg rolls, order a side :). I definitely think everyone who had a bad experience in its first year should try it again!

We love Yak & Yeti!!!!! It is a must do for every trip :) My girls love the honey chicken and DH an I like the steak & shrimp. Our favorite dessert is the wontons YUM.

Honestly, our meal at Yak and Yeti was probably the best meal we've ever had at WDW. I really enjoyed the ribs. If you like ribs, they are some of the best anywhere!! My mom loved the steak and tempura shrimp dish, and the wonton dessert is to die for!!! I don't think you'll leave there disappointed! :thumbsup2

Ate at Yak & Yeti for the first time last week and LOVED it.

I had the steak and shrimp which was great, but my husband had the duck and that was phenomenal. My oldest daughter (12 y/o) had the Maple Tamarind Chicken which she said was fantastic and my youngest daughter (10 y/o) had the Crispy Honey Chicken, which again, she said was awesome. For apps, we had the fried green beans which got four thumbs up from our party and the pot stickers. Those were also good, but the Green Beans got rave reviews. Dessert was the best. Kudos to the chef who thought up those skewers and the mango pie was great.

All in all, one of the better meals on our trip ;) Enjoy!!

Actually, the egg roll appetizer comes with 3!!! Yak & Yeti was one of my favorite meals on my October trip! I had the chicken lo mein (as did another in my party) and my cousin had the crispy mahi mahi. Both were delicious!!! The cream cheese wonton dessert is fabulous, and the Yak Attack was my favorite "adult" beverage of the week!!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We ate there on our last trip - we loved it - it was good and the service was also very good - we would go back!

I was really excited about trying Yak and Yeti on our last trip since I had read such good reviews. I ended up being a bit disappointed in the quality of the main course food. I had the crispy honey chicken. I thought it tasted like frozen chicken strips with a honey sauce on top. It did not taste fresh at all. The other three adults in our party weren't impressed with their meals either but I do not recall exactly what they had ordered.

However, the wonton dessert was out of this world! It was the best dessert I had all week. I would return just to have dessert there.

I wish there were more table service options in the Animal Kingdom.

Thanks for all your comments! It sounds great so far! I just looked at the menu again, and was wondering if anyone had the Duck with Anandapur Glaze, if so, how was it?

I LOVE DUCK!!! and take every opportunity to have it at WDW. The duck @ Y & Y is very, very good. We also love the fried green beans. DD is a little disappointed this year because we're trying Boma instead but we have a "rule" of no more than 2 consecutive years to the same restaurant.

Thanks everyone! I did make an adr for our trip, and cannot wait to try it out! I appreciate all of your comments! :goodvibes

We had never eaten there before last week. LOVED IT!! Probably my favorite meal all trip, and we will definitely go back. Our server was fantastic. I had to find the manager to tell him...it was that good! Honestly, I can't even remember what my entree was, but we got pot stickers for an app, and the brownie for two for dessert. Both were VERY good!! Definitely a must do for us from now on!

Wow, looks like I may have to give it another try....my family and I call it the Yuk&Yeti, and found the food no better than any Chinese food that you pick up at your local grocery store...the only thing that even had potential to be good was the won ton dessert, but they served it to us cold, so even that was pretty bad...i found everything battered to be very soggy, and the beef in the beef and broccoli had so much MSG in it is was slimy...ew.

That being said with all these great reviews maybe we just hit an of night....come to think of it we also went in 2008, so maybe it was an off year!

I just ate there for the first time last week and loved it. I had the pot stickers for an app, the steak and shrimp for my entree and the brownie sundae for dessert. My bff had the mussels for an app, chicken lo mein for an entree and split the sundae w/ me. I'd say the only thing out of all of that food that wasn't great was the lo mein.....can get better at home. I'd eat there again in a heartbeat :thumbsup2
