I wanted to book something fun for us and the CM recommended the Spirit of Aloha. Any thoughts? ANy comments or pics would be great. THanks

I'll say this... DH and I LOVE Spirit of Aloha... the food AND the show...
DS (almost 5) wasn't as impressed (he did enjoy the chicken, though) and he kept asking when he could leave and then started acting out, so we had to make an early exit to spare the poor innocent people that were sitting nearby...:rolleyes1

Would I pay directly OOP for it? Not likely...but it was a good way for us to use a few extra TS credits on our plan...

that's is what we are thinking (using 2 TS credits during FD). I thought the older kids would enjoy it.

Sorry to say, the last time we were at Spirit of Aloha show, DH and I truly did not enjoy the food at all. The show was good, but its alot of money to not enjoy the food. Would however return over and over to Hoop-De-Doo Review at Fort Wilderness over and over and over. DD & DS both enjoyed it and at the time were 3 1/2 and 1 1/2. Going back to see it with in-laws on June 17th again!!

actually hoop de doo is my #1 choice but right now they are all booked expect the 9:30 show which is REALLY late for the 2yo after going to the parks during the day. I think he would be asleep at the table! Tried this am for the Hoop but same info all booked for that Thurs and Fri. I guess I'll keep at it.

I was worried about my dd6 when we chose this place for our christmas night dinner. she sat there completly mesmerized by the show and didn't say a word the entire night. The food was really good. the show was a little corny in the beginning. It was funny to watch people get up on stage to learn how to do the hula (anyone with birthdays in December was invited to go up) I tried to book again for July, but it was all booked except for the first show of the night. because of the type of show (the fire dancers) I would only want to see it when it is dark.

I would say the food is mediocre, average, unexceptional, unremarkable, undistinguished, adequate, decent, fair, passable, tolerable, ordinary and common.

Not horrible, just not...well, you get the idea.

WE loved it the show was great and while the food was not outstanding, it was pretty good, remember your credits are not just for the food but for the dinner show as well, give it a go, it's fun.

I didn't even think about the fire throwers and it would be cooler at night :sad2: . I got a 5:15 ressie. MAybe since the kids won't know it will still be a neat thing. I think we are going to try it since it is a new experience (and HOOP de doo looks like a hoop de don't because of tickets). Prob wouldn't have ever tried it except for FD.

BTW- if anyone has any pics that would be great. looking online but not seeing any.

:lmao: That tickled me! :rotfl2:

We went 2 years ago and I thought the food was very good and there was plenty of it!
I have gone to Dixie Stampede and to me, SoA food is soooo much better!

The more I find out about it the more excited I am getting. Looks really neat from the internet. Good way to spend a evening while others are at MNSSHP

Keep Aloha but keep trying for HDDR :)
