Your Shameful Disney Secret??

I love DCA! It feels so nice wandering thru the streets without getting pushed, shoved or feet stepped on. I especially love the theming in the wine country area and the grizzly river area. I love the music as well. We feel so free and happy to get away from the crowds and just walk and enjoy getting from one place to the next. I do agree there is no rhyme or reason to the layout but oh well.. I still love it.

I don't care for Storybook Canals or Casey Jr.

Love, love, love Electrical Parade! It is totally nostalgic to me.

Love Parade of Dreams- I'm so sad it's gone....

Not a big fan of Star Tours but I do for my son at least once every trip.

I think Innoventions and Honey I shrunk the Audience are both a waste of space, they should reuse them both for something much better and perhaps use the old People Mover/Rocket Rods track while they are at it.

Also, I like DCA, it's not worth a one day admission, but if you have a multiday ticket or Annual Pass, it is nice to go over there for a few hours during your trip.

I do not care for the DCA version of the Electrical parade, it needs to have all of the floats back in it, or at least add new ones to replace the missing ones.

The only thing that I don't like at DL is Honey I Shrunk the Audience, I LOVE pretty much everything else!

I must confess to being deathly afraid of CA Screamin and I think the Sun Wheel is pure evil! :scared:

ELP totally makes me feel like a kid again! I love seeing ELP every chance I get.

DLR and WDW is like a buffet in that one person raves about the veggies and another person is repulsed by the smell of the carrots. My stinky carrots happen to be penny presses, bambi idiots who walk in front of people, and fantasmic. Just like a buffet one person will love something and others hate it. How ever a poll and the leftovers will show that the tuna roll ups are not favourties like HISTA is way low on the list of most people's favourites.

Nope! :thumbsup2 I'm another one who can't stand Dole Whips. And like someone else posted I don't care for churros either...I don't get the fascination of either of these two food items.

And while we are on food, I get totally grossed out (even a little sick to my stomach) every time I see someone gnawing on a turkey leg....just looks so nasty to me. Sorry. I could never buy one for me or my kids.

I don't like Roger Rabbit at all and really am stumped why it ever has a line. Actually I don't care for Toon Town much and we rarely make our way to that neck of the woods.

I agree 100% with all of these. I do normally enjoy a good filled churro, I can't fathom paying park prices for a plain one. And the turkey leg thing is gross to me. I've tried a Dole Whip and I don't get it. I also found Toon Town rather boring. Toon Town at WDW is much more interesting to me.

After reading all of these rave reviews for Honey I Shrunk the Audience, I think we will continue to skip it. :goodvibes

I hate that they allow smoking inside the parks. That is the first thing I would change if I could. My little sister was burned by a cigarette by this woman who was walking by, she knew it happened and stopped and then just kept walking...didn't apologize or anything while my sister was screaming. Plus I HATE the smell of cigarette smoke.

Secrets:

I have been to DL three times since CA opened (and dozens before) and never been to CA ... not by choice, but we always just do one long day at DL because we have family close by to stay with.

Even thought the Pooh ride is not awe-inspiring, I'm glad they took out Country Bears ... I saw it at WDW last fall and it was sad to see it so dated and worn.

I will never, ever go during high season after one 4th of July visit as a kid.

I could skip all of Fantasyland, but my kids won't let me. Also Autopia, HISTA, AstroOrbiter.

My most shameful secret ... I am not going back to WDW for at least 2 more years, yet I still can't stay off of their boards!! I can at least justify hours on this board because I am going in October!

PHXscuba

My current shameful secret is that I have no desire to go to Disneyland. We decided as a family we would go every other year and this is the year we will be going but I just don't care to go. In the past, I have been so crazy about Disneyland that I swore if I lived closer I would be every weekend but for some reason, I just don't feel up to it now.

I also do not care for Pirate Island. Just boring for me.

I also wanted to add that the tiki room is a little scary and it just keeps going and going and I always think to myself...is it rude to just get up and walk out?

I love DCA, ELP, and corn dogs. And dont even get me started on churros :)

I declare myself a churro addict!! I always have to get one whenever there's one available which usually means hockey game. I will try to limit myself to one. I'm just a cinnamon addict.

You're too young to "get it". For you, there's no nostalgia for the parade. I remember seeing it when I was a teenager...to get to see it, or parts of it, again with my kids back in 2005 was a thrill! I was getting to share one of my favorite Disney memories with them.

Wait 30 years or so and go with your kids or grandkids and you'll "get" why folks love the old stuff!

I did see it when I was younger, though, every other year from when I was 6 until 16. And I just never could see why it was so exciting. I do like that is clears out DL at night, though, so we can get a really good seat for the fireworks. :thumbsup2

And while we are on food, I get totally grossed out (even a little sick to my stomach) every time I see someone gnawing on a turkey leg....just looks so nasty to me. Sorry. I could never buy one for me or my kids.

Oh, totally agree. I don't even like turkey (yeah, don't come to my house at Thanksgiving), but I don't think those are even turkey. Come on, they are red inside. Eeeeeeeeeeewwwwwww.

Also don't like corn dogs. However, I LOVE Dole Whips and churros.

I must confess to being deathly afraid of CA Screamin and I think the Sun Wheel is pure evil! :scared:

The Sun Wheel is the only ride I am scared to go on. I love rollercoasters and big drops, but something about swinging carts way up in the air totally freaks me out.

Even thought the Pooh ride is not awe-inspiring, I'm glad they took out Country Bears ... I saw it at WDW last fall and it was sad to see it so dated and worn.

Okay, another secret. I never liked Country Bears. Even growing up, I thought the jokes were really dumb. Plus, the bears were kind of creepy. I know I am in the minority on this, but I love the Pooh ride.

Wow...I can't think of anything that I hate at DL that everyone else seems to love....except for maybe the new Disney characters on Small World. I mean, there are things that I dislike, but none that are so totally outside the norm that would make people say "OMG I can't believe you don't like that!"

This thread is kind of depressing. :earboy2: ;)

My first secret is when my DD was nearly 3 and first met Cinderella and was all wide eyed and believing, and CInderella was so darned sweet to her, I blubbered like an idiot.

And the second is, that although I blame making everyone ride Winnie the Pooh on my DD, it's me who loves it!!! It's so gentle and sweet and no line!!!

What are you talking about? Cinderella is believable. :)

i just cracked up for half an hour reading all your posts!! funny stuff, thanks for sharing!

my DLR secrets:

i hate riding the buzz lightyear ride, but only because i'm a little OCD-ish about germs and i hate, hate, hate that my kids have their hands all over those grimey, filthy blasters that have God-only-knows WHAT smeared all over them from previous riders (boogers, anyone? BLECH!) i carry Purell with me for the kids to use after rides, but as often as i can, i actually make them WASH their hands with soap and real water after the BL ride.

as another poster said, the sun wheel is also the only ride i am afraid to ride in all of DLR.

as others have mentioned, i also think the turkey legs look disgusting....and i LOVE turkey.

i've been to disneyland over 100 times, and have never, ever been in the tiki room. no plans to ever go in, either.

we don't watch the parades or fantasmic...as others have mentioned, we use that time to take advantage of shorter lines on rides.

i love DCA, IASW, and jungle cruise. but i only like to ride jungle cruise at night.

and, i think tigger tails are pretty gross after about the 3rd bite.

Well, of course you would psychologically, if you keep thinking about chomping the tail off Tigger's behind. :lmao:
