Your Shameful Disney Secret??

I've never seen Honey I shrunk the Audience nor do I have any plans to. It's not that I have anything against it, it just dosen't look that interesting to me.

The only thing in the park that I can actually say that I hate is Innoventions. It is such a ridiculous waste of the old rotating theatre.

I don't know if this is allowable on your special diet, but have you tried the sugar free chocolate treats at Pooh's Corner? I am a chocolate fiend who no longer eats sugar. I have had the sugar free treats at Pooh's Corner and they are WONDERFUL!! :cloud9:
The problem is in table service resaurants. If you are allergic to soy, chocolate, dairy, nuts, gluten, corn, etc then you are relegated to one item on the menu usually and no dessert. I have in my freezer banana nut bread, another loaf bread like that one, bread, cornbread, apple pie, cookies, and cherry pie. So do not tell me that they can have the chocolate but I cannot. SCREAMS

I can eat some chocolates like Hersheys but not Giradelli as they ruin the chocolate with soy oil. chocolate is not supposed to have oil added. They are trying at Disneyland and have many obstacles like small kitchens, 40+ year old kitchens and no land to work with unlike WDW. However I would have like one piece of chocolate. I felt like a little kid sitting there as everyone is noshing on chocolate while I had that disgusting blood orange sorbet. It is ok but too pungent and people who know me know I can down a tub of strawberry sorbet in one setting.

Disable parking needs to be overhauled. There are no disabled services at Mickey and Friends and you hike a long way. You are either walking half a mile or renting offsite a wheelchair. I want the bus parking area be designated disabled and bus only and large vehicles. I am tired of having to drag the wheelchair our of my car then walking in pain to get on a tram and hopefully in one piece. Note I alreay mentioned the crazy old man who tried to back up and almost shoved everyone off of the tram.

OK, here goes. I hate IASW. We have always been forced to go on it because it is my grandpa's favorite ride. He loves it, the rest of us hate it but we do it for him. This next trip, grandpa is staying home and I am going to be a horrible mom and not even take my kids on it because me, DH, my mom and my dad all hate it. We took DD on it when she was 15 months old and she screamed the whole way through. I'm sure she wouldn't this time and I should be a good mom and let my kids experience it, but I'm not going to.

The only place I have ever seen the fireworks at DL is from the balcony of my room at the Coast Anaheim. I have been to DL 10 times in my life and not once have I ever stayed in the park to watch. This trip, I have already decided that we will be staying atleast one night late enough to catch the fireworks. Even if my kids sleep through the entire thing, I WILL SEE THE FIREWORKS FROM INSIDE THE PARK!!

I also hate Casey-whatever-it's-called-train and the Storybook Canals. They are way too boring for me. The little scenes on Storybook are kind of cool, but I have seen them once and never have to see them again.

My secret is that I think the Mark Twain is a waste of time. I would skip it if they kids would let me :sad2:

Always ask if you can ride with the pilot, makes it more tolerable. ;)

My secrets:
I couldn't stand IASW when I was a kid (probably has to do with the fact that my brothers would insist on riding it endlessly when my mom was pregnant with me, so I got the annoying song with none of the creepy/neat visuals), but I like it now as an adult because the dolls and the details are really impressive.

I can only ride the Jungle Cruise late at night when there are no kids on it (thereby increasing the chances that the skipper's jokes will be more adult in content, bumping it up to PG instead of the usual G spiel you normally get).

I hate it when the others in my canoe don't bother paddling like they're supposed to or start mucking up the pace/timing so there's a lot of tangled paddles and back-splashing. This stems from my love of canoe races that CMs used to have the guests do when I was a kid and from my lack of being able to squash the voice of my inner coxswain (I used to cox in high school). However, I'd still give my left kidney to be a CM on the canoes.

I hate it when people (especially CMs) look at me like I'm too old for something. So what if I want to go get my picture taken with Cinderella or ride the Storybook boats? Just because I'm in my twenties doesn't mean I can't enjoy meeting Tigger as much as a 5 year old.

I'm unimpressed by Soarin'. IMO, it's not much different than Circlevision movies.

The little scenes on Storybook are kind of cool, but I have seen them once and never have to see them again.

I totally agree about this too. I rode the boats one morning with my son because we had ridden almost everything else in the park. I thought it was OK but it's not something I will seek out again.

I thought the animals in the Jungle Cruise were real until I was 11 or 12 and I cry every time I walk in to DL on the first day of my trip.

I have a few Secrets:

I do NOT like Honey I shrunk the Audience.-----but my kids like it so I have to watch it every time we go.

I Hated Golden Dreams. Glad thats gone.

I do not like Cafe Orleans. Ate there 2 years ago, everything was BAD! I love Mint Juleps, but at cafe orleans it was watered down. I asked for another one and told them it was green water, they brought me another one that was even worse. The Food was bad also...

My last Secret: I do not like Monte Cristos. I had that at cafe orleans and it was really Greasy!!

Everything else is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AMEN! I wait in line just like the kiddies to meet the characters, it's my vacation! I'll do what I want!

Here here!!

I'm not sure I would use the word hate, but some of my least favorites are Honey I shrunk the Audience, It's tough to be a bug, pinocchio. I never saw Golden Dreams (was always going to and just never got around to it). I like California Adventure (I think it is because it is wide open and usually less crowded than DL. That being said, I am a huge DL fan and have been going there for about 40 years now - grew up there and went fairly often (used ticket books back then). :wizard:

I guess I have a few secrets. So I will start with a big one. When I took my DD there for the first time, she was 18 months old, I used a kid leash. She refused to hold my hand and refused to sit in the stroller so it was all I could do to keep her contained.

Okay, I will admit this too. I have always complained about these things, but when we went with my nephew, I was glad he had one. He just takes off and runs everywhere. This was the only way to keep him from getting lost.

Absolutely agree! I actually found that CM's at WDW were much better about this.

After reading this thread, I am starting to think my secret should be that I LOVE IASW. I seem to be the only one. :rotfl2:

Next, I don't get the excitement of the ELP. Seriously, it's a bunch of lights with electronic music. :confused3

My last secret is kind of a WDW one too. I actually like the WDW Under New Management version of the Tiki Room better. At least it had a few jokes. The DL Tiki Room is a total snooze fest. I keep trying to tell myself how important it was to Walt and what a big deal it was, but that doesn't stop me from falling asleep during it (and only if I am forced to go - would never go on my own.)

I hate HM - overlay or regular.

I have never been on Snow White or Toady and don't plan to ever go on them.

I love DCA - but hate that you can't circle through logically (to me anyway) and there are no shortcuts.

Those are my secrets too...Shhhhh!

You guys crack me up, with your dirty little secrets. :rotfl:

Ok, mine: have never been on Autopia, not remotely interested in it.

I can't understand the attraction of churros. :confused3

and... *cringes, anticipating retaliation* I thought the little show at Mickey's ToonTown Morning Madness was embarressingly lame. :scared: I love the characters, but it was just so... chirpy? contrived? I dunno.

]Next, I don't get the excitement of the ELP. Seriously, it's a bunch of lights with electronic music. :confused3

For me, watching ELP for the first time in over 10 years last May was purely a nostalgic moment. It reminded me of when I was a kid, sitting on Main Street and eating cheap candy from the Market Store. If it wasn't for that nostalgia, I seriously doubt that I'd stick around and watch it (except for the Cinderella float, because I've always wanted to be one of the dancers at the ball, even more than playing a Disney princess face character).

I HATE Dole Whips.... I know many on this board love them, and I do make everyone I go with try them, and most everyone else loves them, I just think they are a sickeningly sweet disgusting mess.
Oh, and I've never seen Fantasmic! and really have no interest in seeing it at all.

Along those lines ... I've never even had a Dole Whip before.

--Every time we go, DH and I vow to see ASIMO at Innoventions--we still haven't, and we're still vowing to do it.

--I can go to DL resort for four days, only go to CA, and never be bored.

--I don't tell people that we're going to DL, the only ones who know are my parents (who drive us) and two others.

I was creeping on the other DIS boards and came across this thread.

And so DISers... what's your Shameful Disney Secret?

I hate the way it smells in the POTC.....and now knowing that Ron Jeremy and friends have been @ DL, makes me wonder what exactly is making it smell that way. :rotfl2:

Oh gosh I love the smell! Well I guess it's not the smell I like it's just the familiarity. It has had the same smell from when I was a kid.
