I went to two proms, in 1992 and 1995. I had more fun with my friends than I did with my date (dated the same guy all through high school so it was the same guy at both proms). He was a total tool. Otherwise, I had a good time. It was overpriced, though, and I suppose I could have had a good time with my friends doing something else. But at least I can say I still had the experience.

As for pictures, yeah you're not getting them. I don't do dresses, so wearing a prom dress for me wasn't the highlight of my teenage years. Especially the 1992 prom.:crazy2:

I went to both of my proms in the mid 80's with the same girl and had a great time. :groom: Of course, most of my memories about the prom are of the activities that took place afterward... :smokin: :rotfl:

No, the girl is not my wife, though I thought at the time that she would be... :confused3

OMG someone else better start posting some pics from the 80's on here - I don't want to be the only one!!!!

Tara,

I have the pictures from 3 dances in the 80's, I just don't know how to go about getting them into a post. :confused3

Just curious about everyone's prom experience! I was talking with my DCousin as she's debating over whether to go to prom or not.. her tickets are $80 and she really doesn't enjoy school dances (they've certainly changed!).

Feel free to share any stories, or pics (especially prom goers from the 80s!! ::yes:: :thumbsup2 )

poll coming!

Tell her to go, she only gets one senior prom.

I had a great time at my prom. I ended up marrying my date and we now have a beautiful son that will be 2 next month. :thumbsup2

I graduated before my prom and my school wouldn't let me come back for it. The guy I was dating my junior year was out of school and pleaded not to go to prom so that didn't work either.

So I have never been to a prom. I don't really care to be honest.

Are they saved to your computer? You have to download pics to www.photobucket.com, and then from there you can put them into your posts by clicking on the

I went to 4 proms (2 of mine, 2 of DH's) in the 80's. You asked for pics...here you go....and yes there's a hoop skirt under that red southern style dress!

Classic! I love the pics. The 80's happen to be my favorite years. I loved the fashion, big hair, the music....I Heart the 80's!

I didn't go to my senior prom and am glad that I didn't. Our tix were $80 back in the late seventies! I was in the drama club and most of us weren't dating anyone special nor could we see spending that much money (plus dresses/tuxes/limos/flowers/photos etc) just for a night out. So instead, on prom night, we went ... roller skating, and then we had booked a room at our local chinese restaurant and all went out to dinner! There was like 40 of us, we were all friends, and we had an absolute blast! Way so much more fun than the stuffy prom! And we had no chaperones! I don't regret missing the prom at all .. we truly had a night to remember all on our own!

I voted Yes and I had a great time...
I wouldn't say GREAT time... but it was ok and I"m glad to have the memories.

I would say...even if I had a bad time, it'd still be nice to have the story....

It was 45 years ago, but I do remember I got lucky

LMAO....I broke up with my boyfriend after prom because he TOLD everyone he got lucky....when in fact, he didn't even get close... LOL

Didn't go. Spent the weekend visiting family at West Point. Oh, those cadets in uniform! ;)

I went and I regretted it.
I didn't really attend any dances in HS (not sure we really even had any, tbh) and I went because my parents insisted I would feel bad later for not having gone.

We didn't have a whole lot of money, so my dress was an old bridesmaid dress my mother got at a garage sale that was completely hideoderous. I remember it was white satin with big purple and yellow flowers, off the shoulder with a poofy, knee length skirt. I wore a pair of big white platform-bottom sandals and had my hair curled and sprayed to within an inch of its life.:rotfl: Later, at the school-sponsored afterprom party, I went to take the clip out of my hair so I could let it down and my hair stayed in place.:rotfl2:

The prom itself kind of blew..the food wasn't all that great except for the dessert (chocolate mousse w/little white chocolate seashells) and because I'd somehow managed to offend the girls in charge of the seating charts, I ended up sitting with a bunch of people I didn't really even know. So the entire night was one big, long awkward pause.

Oh..I also went by myself. The guy I'd asked to go with me turned me down.

If DS wants to go to his, I won't stop him. But I certainely wouldn't reccomend it.

I went to mine sick. I had Strep, but already had everything and had plans with friends to go and all so I went ahead. I had a lousy time. It was nice to see everyone all dressed up, but for someone who didn't really like school dances..it just kinda sucked. I was talked into going by friends and family who said I'd regret it if I didn't go. I now look back and realize I could have lived without going!
