Your opinion?

I need to know what happened!!! I love a good crazy mom story! OP come back!

There should be some type of punishment for those who start juicy threads and never come back. :sad2:

:thumbsup2

Dealing this on another board that shares British shows after they are shown there (so we don't have to wait 6-9 more months)...she lost interest in one minor show and left us hanging:sad:

I was hoping something interesting happened too, but maybe the spoiled brat just got diapers and wipes. I still think that's a boring party and that a person is a witch when they demand certain gifts from people.

When I shared this story with my husband, and the OP's mentioning of hearing snickering going on, he suggested that perhaps everyone would bring diapers- but filled! After all, she didn't specify that they should be unused. :rotfl2:

He also thought it would be funny if the packages were all opened and the velcro tabs ripped in half, so when the brat went to pull the tab it fell off completely rendering the diaper useless.

:rotfl2: Thats funny! But didnt the OP already tell us she bought boogie wipes? Not sure what people are waiting for? :confused3

I know this is regional, but we don't throw baby showers for second time mothers.

She is on her own!
Same here! Showers for 2nd time mothers in my area doesnt usually happen. Ive seen it, but usually when her partner/husband is a first-time-dad.

I'll speak for the op since I work the same type of job. She works 12 hour night shifts, people! In some cases, mandatory ot or stay for a 16 hour shift because of staffing. Perhaps give her a few days to get off a work stretch.

I'm pretty sure the OP works nights, so I would assume her sleep is more important to her than updating random strangers on the internet on some bratty pregnant woman's shower. :sad2:

Eh, not everyone checks in here every day. The OP said she's a nurse, so there's a good chance she has a crazy schedule. Give her more time!

Of course, if she starts posting on other threads but never updates this one, THEN she deserves 40 lashes with a wet baby wipe. :rotfl:

She said others at work had something planned.... That's what;)

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: Or in this case, a boogie wipe!

I just found this thread when searching about baby showers. I read through it and am curious to see how it turned out! I think your gift was very appropriate OP, lol.

I'm in a similar situation. I'm a nurse but since my son was 6 months old I've only worked 1-2 days/month. I worked yesterday and there was an email that they are having a shower at work for a pregnant co-worker soon. I didn't even know she was pregnant until a few weeks ago when I got report from her the last time I worked, lol. Anyway I don't work know if I should get a gift or not - what's the obligation there? I don't work the day they are doing the shower and I have plans that day.

I am not sure if there is ever an obligation. When I worked for a large company there were showers all of the time. I decided from the get go that I was not participating in these "mandatory" gift giving opportunities, and I stuck to it. If I was close to "whoever" I gave a gift privately. I cannot understand those power party people (I worked with one of then) who felt the need to organize parties for every event that could possible come up.

Agreed. Yes, you can donayenornsend a small gift, but you can certainly skip it.
