Your Opinion - March vs June

My family and I are planning trip to Disney in early March 2011. We are from Louisiana and that is when the kids will be out for Mardi Gras. I am second guessing and think I should book in late May-early June instead. I am worried about crowds. I've never been in March and would like to see Flower and Garden (I've looked back a few years and it seems to be starting earlier and earlier each year - this year did start early March) but the crowds are more of an issue for me. We went the last day of kids school in 2008 - late May and into early June and it was awesome. Always went at rope drop (we are early risers) and never dealt with much crowds all day (thanks to Tour Guide Mike). I keep reading that Spring is a crowded time and I know lots of LA cajuns skip MG and go to Disney instead.

I think I am talking myself into late May.... Any opinions?

Our past experiences in March have been fine. We usually go the first week. Crowds have never seemed too crazy due to schools being in the final stretch before Spring Break. As far as weather goes, it was fantastic weather during our '07 and '08 March vacations. (Not so hot that you're miserable, but not so cold that you cannot enjoy the pool). Very comfortable weather. Now as far as this year, (March 1 - 6, 2010) there was a cold front going through, and the temp. was very chilly at night. Too cool to enjoy the waterparks or swimming pools this time around. So take Fla's unusual cold snaps of recent Winter's/early Spring's into account when planning if you're looking at (early)March.

We actually did early June last year. We actually really enjoyed it. Its a little more crowded, but not anything that a little planning cant help with. Its nice and warm so you can swim a bunch. Take some early afternoon breaks, get there at rope drop and enjoy! Star Wars weekends is an added bonus if you have boys.
