This Friday we are headed for our first cruise on the Disney Dream. It is a 5 night cruise with 2 Castaway Cay stops :). Our last cruise was 2014 on the Magic and the year before on the Fantasy.

If you had to pick one thing to do or eat during the cruise, what would it be? If doesn't have to be unique to the Dream but bonus points if it is (please mention). Thanks so much :)

We so enjoyed our double dip on the Dream on June 10th!

See Beauty and the Beast.
Go to the free dessert event at Venellope's Sweet Shop at night. (not sure which day it is! I missed it but the other family we sailed with went and said it was AMAZING!)

Sorry, I know that is 2 things.

Thank you. No problem, if you have more than one must do I'd love to hear it too. I heard Venellope's delivers sundaes to dining room so thinking about doing that one night if that is true.

Are you going with children? If so, Midship Detective is adorable and very good fun :) As for food, when we cruised the Dream last fall, my husband could NOT stop talking about the Chilean Sea Bass! I believe we got it at Enchanted Garden.

I think he'll enjoy Midship Detective then...and its a great way to get familiar with the layout of the ship!

Much appreciated, we will definitely give it a try. Does the Midship Detective game work when the ship is still at port on embarkation day?

Try to get on this ship as early as you can to enjoy as much of the day as possible. We did this and were even able to have lunch on board.

Pack your swim suits in your “carry on bag” so you can take a dip in the pool since it may take a while for your luggage to get to your room.

If they still offer the ship tour as your are boarding, give it a try. You can check out some of the restaurnats like Palo and Remi and see if you are interested in booking a meal there.

Be sure to have the drink special of the day {alcoholic} since it is probably a really good deal. This is what we did and spent very little on alcohol.

Look into the Rainforest room. When we did the Dream cruise several years ago it was only about $20 per day. I though the heated showers were ok (you wear a swim suit) but he private jacuzzi pools, heated lounge chairs and huge dressing room were awesome. I hated getting ready in the little cabin bathroom and I loved the HUGE bathroom they had. When I did it, you could buy a day pass so I went several times one day.

We did not spend much time off the boat at the Nassau stop. We got off and looked around and went to the market and a few shops and then got back on the boat and had a nice lunch at one of the sit down places and enjoyed the pool while it was not crowded.

I’m pretty sure it is. We definitely did it that first night. I can’t recall if it was before we sailed away or not, but the game works through digital pieces of art on the ship walls so I don’t think it’s ever “off”.

Tour the Rainforest room as it's much larger than the one on the Magic. If you like what you see then purchase a pass for the entire cruise so you can come and go as you please. I agree with Disneytravelers2008 that it's a lot easier getting changed and using their showers vs.the ones in your room. I found out recently that you don't need to have a pass to use the showers/locker room so keep that in mind as well. They also have the fancy Elemis products which concierge-level gets.

The pastries served in the Cove Cafe are free! I made this mistake and in the evenings they have prosciutto, breads, assorted cheeses, meats and olives.

Lay on the comfy throwback deck chairs on the promenade and take it all in. It's even better at night and usually very quiet.

I know that you didn't go to the free dessert event at Vanellope's Sweet Shop but could you tell me a little more about that? Do they announce it ahead of time? Thanks!

I am interested in more info on this too. Our Dream cruise is only three nights, do they still have it on those? This is the first I have heard of it. Either way we will probably be hitting Venellopes up for something.

Where did you go? We are planning on just staying on the ship, but on the "Two Dudes on a Cruise" podcast, they went to a bar to use free wifi. Any idea if that is all cafes or just one in particular? I feel like we should get off and at least set foot on land just to say "we were in Nassau".

Add me to the list of people wanting to know about the free dessert event @ Vanellope's. :bored:

I just messaged the family that went with us so that I can ask them! We were on a 5 night, and I think it was the 4th night. But I will let you now what he says! I also asked him if it was in the Navigator, or if he just stumbled upon it!

Good point...we just made sure we had lunch on the ship so we didnt have to spend money on icky fast food (again)...lol

The Rainforest daily pass would be worth it to me just so I could use that nice bathroom / dressing room to get ready ! LOL! Im really not joking. If I ever do another cruise, I am going to plan to do this :)
