Which Christmas songs are the most meaningful to you? I have two

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas (the Judy Garland version): Reminds me of my first Christmas with my DH (before we were married). We were living in an apartment in Boston with about 4 other housemates. He had to work late on Christmas Eve. When he came home, we sat by the light of our overpriced tiny Christmas tree with our two cats and watched a bunch of Christmas movies, one being "Meet Me in St. Louis." I remember feeling warm and cozy & thinking this was the best Christmas ever.

Silent Night: This is a recent favorite. Our second daughter was born two weeks ago. She was the only baby born in that hospital that day. About 20 minutes after she was born, there happened to be some volunteer carolers going around the hospital. Someone told them a baby was just born & they stayed in the hallway outside our door and sang some acapella Christmas songs. Silent Night was the first one they sang. The whole moment was practically right out of a movie!!! My DH & I cried, I think one of the nurses in our room cried!! Luckily, we have some of it on video. The carolers returned the next night as well. I find myself singing Silent Night to my daughter in the wee hours of the night sometimes after feedings. I have a feeling that song will always be a special song with me and my Christmas baby

First, OP, I love your stories. They're wonderful.

My favorite is "O Holy Night" because my late brother, who had a beautiful singing voice, sang it to our mom. It's bittersweet because it's the last song I ever heard him sing, but I think of him every time I hear it.

I have so many favorites for so many reasons. But it was a Christmas Eve a few years ago that I heard this beautiful song for the first time. I wept when I heard it and it has become a most meaningful Christmas song, because it is a reminder of how humbly and quietly He came.

I have a few:

Believe by Josh Groban. We watch Polar Express every christmas eve. It will always remind of evenings curled up on the couch with my children.

Grown-up Christmas List by Amy Grant has been a long time favorite of mine. Any time I listen to it it reminds of many many years of christmas's - good and bad - and makes me grateful for where I am in my life.

A Christmas to Remember by Amy Grant makes me think of an old friend.

Alan Mann - Christmas on Block. Story of a blind family who decorated their house for Christmas. I grew up in Philadelphia and this was always a song that was played over the holidays. The kids singing always puts a lump in throat.

I was just exploring this group this morning. My co-worker told me about Pentatonix yesterday. I too love a cappella!!!

When I was a kid, Christmas Eve was spent over at my grandparents apartment. It would be my dad's parents, my parents, myself, and my mom's brother. We'd eat sandwiches from a coldcut platter and exchange presents (my parents and I opened our presents to each other on Christmas, though).

After dinner, everyone but my grandparents would go to Central Moravian Church for the Christmas Eve Vespers. None of us are Moravian (we were Catholic and Methodist), but I loved going to Vespers. My favorite song was the one performed by a child soloist, "Morning Star, O Cheering Sight!" It was a call and answer song where the congregation would repeat the soloist, line-per-line. It would be dark and we all held lit beeswax candles.

Growing up my parents had a collection of Christmas music records that would play during the holiday season. One was a record of various songs as recorded by different musical groups at our alma mater. There was this version of 'The Twelve Days After Christmas' as performed by The Friars (a well known male comedic acapella group). I would only ever hear that song (and especially that version) at my parents house during Christmas.

My parents moved a couple of years ago and I recently found out they got rid of their record collection.

I'm going to have to find this version! Mary, Did You Know? is my absolute favorite Christmas song. It especially pleases me that it was written by a man who's widely known as a comedian, but who also sings (sang?) with the Gaither Vocal Band, Mark Lowery.

My DD#2 has a home-made CD with nothing but various renditions of O Holy Night (probably 12-15 different artists!) but her (and our) favorite is Josh Groban.
