Your mission: the no-bag line

I go bag less, too. I love having my hands free!

I use a Vera Bradley small wallet wristlet. (Fits in pocket and clips on belt loop for security). I carry my DL, insurance card, a few dollars, a back up credit card (in case of MB issue) my cell phone, a few tissues and sanitizing wipes and a tinted lip balm. Everything fits easily in the bag and slips in my pocket. In the other pocket, if necessary, I put my hard sided eyeglass case to store either my sunglasses or regular glasses---whichever I'm not using.

I've used this method for the last few years and it works well for me. I use it abroad, too, and for serious shopping trips to the mall. Love being hands free!

I would rather carry a bag than have my pockets crammed full of stuff. I hate having stuff in my pockets. Seriously;)

I agree completely! I'm not a fan of cargo pants/shorts, and most women's pants/shorts have very tight pockets! Also, I like to carry a lot of stuff with me and a bag is nice to be able to tuck a bottle of water into. I don't think the bag lines add that much time to my day anyway.

I always bring my refillable water bottle too. I drink a lot in the parks and don't always want to be at CS restaurants asking for water. I don't mind the taste of the tap water, unlike so many here! The bag lines move quickly enough for me.

I don't carry a purse in my day to day activities at home, usually just my wallet in my hand, phone/keys in pocket, but always have a bag at Disney.

Went bagless on my trip earlier this month.

Sunscreen before I leave the room. (will also sometimes wear a cap).

I take my transition glasses to the park so they darken when I'm in the sun.

1. Front pocket of shorts is a small wristlet with a strap that can be run though my belt loop for extra security. This holds chapstick, floss stick, DL, AP, Disney Visa, a small flat pack of meds, and $20.

2. Other front pocket is my iphone.

3. Back pocket is a flat pack of Kleenex or hankie and a .88 poncho flat pack. (I have dumped this if rain chances are slim)

4. I use a refillable water bottle and it fits in a neoprene sleeve that clips to my belt loop and a small sanitizer that will also clip if I don't have it in my wristlet.

This looks like a lot but it's not and I use a smaller bottle for my water, but I hate carrying around sweaty cups and I am at my bare minimum on stuff.

A good wristlet is the key to this. It took me a while but I have one that is just big enough, while still small/flat enough for my pocket. I have them mostly from Coach, but I do have a couple of VB ones that also work.

Med pack is here http://www.containerstore.com/shop/travel/bottlesMedication?productId=10019592&N=253&Nao=40
I have about 6 pills that are unique to me that are not carried at most first aide stations. If I get them taken then I have no problem but if I try to wait till I can get back to the room, my day will probably be over, so I have to carry them.

We never take bags.

DH throws our phones, his wallet, and my id into his pockets and off we go!

We lather up with sunscreen before we go and if we go back to the hotel at midday, we reapply.

After a few trips with bags laden with cameras, bottles of water, kid paraphernalia, we realized how much of a time saver it can be to skip the bag check line. So when the kids were a little older and no longer needed as much stuff, and after we'd taken as many pictures as we could of decorations and landmarks, and with water being able to be purchased in the parks, we ditched the bag. Between the four of us, we were able to put into our pockets all the things we really need to go to the parks. For us that is a little cash, ID & CC, and our phones. One less line to wait through.

We tried it once at DLR, and were very quickly informed by a very diligent CM with the look of determination on his face pirate:that this definitely, most certainly is not allowed at DLR. :lmao:

It's only saving a small amount of time, but it sure feels like victory when you walk past all the people in the bag check line.

We haven't taken a bag since our children were out of diapers.

We take with us:

Camera
Phones
Wallet
KTTW cards
small bottle of sunscreen
Extra camera battery & smart card.

That's it.

We were very surprised to find that there wasn't a non-bag line at DLR.

My son and I are going alone together in September and it's a bag free trip for me too! I have four kids all together and I always have to have some ridiculously huge back pack for the kids things. We will have bands and I've got a great phone case that I can slip my id and credit card into. I can't wait for a solo trip with my buddy!

Bag-Free!!! It's like a vacation from my purse! I love it. Now my DD likes to carry her bag so if I do need a place to stash something, I feel no guilt in using her as my mule, lol ;) turnabout is fair play

I've done no bag before with:

a small "card wallet" that holds ID, credit card, DVC card, annual pass discount card (yes I still have to carry all that) and a little cash (I won't ever go into the parks without some cash)

My phone. Fits in pocket. The bad part about that is that the phone falls out of some pockets. So a cargo pocket or something that can fasten can be good. It does mean I have trouble carrying the charger. With a large enough pocket, the charger and cord could fit in there also. I don't have a lot of pockets that large.

Packaged sunscreen wipe, lip balm in pocket.

I don't carry a water bottle. I can go into any CS place and get a cup of water for free. I might buy a Diet Coke or some booze.

Cargo shorts/pants...you wouldn't believe what I've smuggled in

This is key.

In my cargo shorts I can fit:

Wallet with cash, Id and ccs
Phone
Backup phone charger/battery
Camera
Miniature sunscreen from target
And I have a waterproof jacket that folds into itself that I got from old navy. I can carabiner that to my shorts.

This is almost exactly my bag free list too. I bought a nice iPhone case that holds extra charge, they are pretty slim now, so no charger needed.

I've been traveling bag free to WDW for years. I take my cellphone, a slim wallet with my money and cards. That's it. I apply sunscreen througly before I leave the hotel. I also have a water bottle holder so I can carry a water bottle. Which I purchase within the park.

Life in the no bag line is sweet. :thumbsup2

Going bag free sounds intriging but I don't own any cargo shorts. I don't carry my phone with me, but I do carry a point and shoot camera. Kinda bulky for a pocket...

The purse I carried last time was too big and my SS thermos (which I fill with ice water at the hotel) kept poking me in the leg annoying me.

Maybe I won't bring my thermos, get free ice water from the QS and use a smaller purse. I don't think I can fit a camera (with extra battery) into a wristlet along with id, cc, medical insurance (from Canada so I always carry it with me), cash, suncreen and papers to remind me what my FP+ and ADR times are (no phone on vacation for me).

I don't own cargos.

I either wear jean shorts or cotton shorts that are sort of cut like jean shorts.

I don't carry and ID or a credit card. Why do you need them?

I carry my ID at all times for the following reasons:

  • I'm only 22, so I get carded no matter where I am (except World Showcase...).
  • If I do need to go to the hospital for any reason, it's easier if I'm unable to respond and not with anyone for them to know who I am and where I'm from. Plus, if the unthinkable were to happen, it lists me as an organ donor.
  • Since ID is usually required with an annual pass or DVC card for the discounts and I love discounts...
  • If Disney decided to ask for ID upon asking for a replacement for a MB/it not working at the turnstile, I would rather have it with me than have to go back for it.

To me, it's a tiny one by two and a half inch piece of plastic that makes my life easier if I have it without question and has all the potential to complicate my life if I don't. Better safe than sorry, IMO.

That said, Thanks to MBs, I might be able to go bagless for the first time ever in my July trip! Definitely excited for that!

I pray for the day i can go with no bag in the park .. DF loads me up !!! 1 towel to sit on as we wait for parades, 2 waters canisters ( the ones that keep them colder ) snacks, ponchos and my crocks for when my feet need a break ! oh i forgot and my Df camera that needs an extra heavy lens some times !

Cant wait to do it again though ! :rotfl2:

Actually, I now have my own little backpack I carry my camera in, thank you very much!!! Other than that, this statement is correct :rotfl:

The sunscreen should be the biggest obstacle.

DO get one of those collapsible drawstring bags. Then - put things in your hands. Sunscreen in one hand. Wallet (with cards and cash) in the others.

Person 2. Camera in one hand. Small bottle for 'pain reliever and other drugs' in other.

Mission accomplished.

Wear everything you can. Sunglasses? Check. Wallet on a string in front? Check.

Off to the park.

I like this idea! Gonna have to remember to try this for my next trip.
