Reading another thread I was reminded of those very special moments when the Disney magic comes together.... They stay with us and keep us coming back.

I have a few, but this one is very special to me:

On our first trip to Disney, DS was not quite 2. He wouldn't have known the characters to recognize them (I didn't think), but one day we were walking through the uncrowded park and DS spotted Minnie just as she was finishing a visit with someone and waving goodbye.

As she turned and began walking away, he dropped my hand and began toddling after her has fast as those little baby legs could go. Of course, I recognized that she was done with her shift and there wasn't a hope of getting her attention, and started after him as fast as I could, trying to distract him.

Just as she got to one of those doors that they disappear through, he started to cry. Somehow, she heard him, made a stopping gesture to her handler, and turned around, bent down, and opened her arms to this little guy running toward her. He gave her the biggest hug.

He doesn't remember the moment, but I always will. What magic moment will you never forget?

For me it's the fascination DD had with Daisy when she was 2. She had been twice prior and wasn't afraid of plush characters until (or since) that trip. We walked into Epcot one rainy morning, DD noticed Daisy and took off as fast as her little legs could go. She skipped an entire line of people, grabbed poor Daisy's leg and wouldn't let go. :rotfl: She kept repeating "My Daisy!" and giving her kisses. I was mortified that she just ran up to her but at 2, what did she know? The people in line (10 or so) just laughed at DD's reaction. After I pried her off we went to the end of the line to get pictures the right way.

This was also the trip where she started crying like a banshee in the middle of dinner at 1900 PF. I was getting ready to hustle her out of there when the Stepmother came over, looked at DD and said "you will stop that crying". Off went the waterworks, just like that. I think it was more the shock of someone else shushing her but I'll tell you what, I wanted to put the Stepmother in my back pocket and take her home.

Our was on our last trip. My girls are a part of the frozen craze. We had reservations at the BBB and then the Wishes dessert party. We were at the party with our little princesses and they started to play Let It Go and project images of Elsa on the castle. My 4 year olds face lit up and she was sooooo excited. My 8 year old started jumping up and down as well. DH and I looked at each other and he was beaming. It was a great moment. We had a wonderful trip:-)

I've only been once as an adult - August 2012 we took our three kids (then 16, 14 & 11) for a short 4 day stay.

Day #1 we were at rope drop for the opening show. That did it for me!

My Dad was a big kid at heart, and his dream was to take all of his grandbabies to Disney. He never got to do that.

So there we are, waiting for the show to start, and the tears are already flowing. My oldest thought I was nuts!

Then I told her that Grandpa had always wanted to bring them to Disney, and she understood.

Still the most magical moment ever for me!

My magic moment was when my 2 sons did Jedi Training. They are both HUGE Star Wars fans, and we went for SWW last year. After the training, my 4 year old was just beaming! He kept saying, "Mommy, I am a jedi!! I am a jedi!!! I fought Ventress and won!! Mommy, I am a jedi!!" Oh my goodness, it was so amazing. He kept stopping every cast member we went by and kept telling them he beat Ventress and was a jedi. I will never forget that as long as I live!!

Ds now 16 back at 8! The very first Power Rangers came out when we were there. He was so past characters but Rangers!!!!!

We saw them the following 2 years as well. At 10 I was worried he wouldn't like them anymore but they sold a toy phone from the series and we bought it just before the characters came out. My son got in a line of about 10 and he proceeded to "talk to his friends the Rangers". When the white ranger came out he walked directly to my son and pointed for him to approach. His handler said "come on white ranger the line starts over here" and gestured for him to go to the line on the ground at the front of the line.

The look on my sons face as the ranger nods no and points to my son again to come forward. He beamed as I snapped as many pictures as I could through the tears.

How that ranger knew he was a true fan I'll never know. Disney magic perhaps?

My kids first trip to WDW in 2005. They were 2 and 4. We did a late EMH at MK on our arrival night and had stopped to get water (it was between midnight and 1 am). DH was off getting water and I sat down with the kids at some seating near Dumbo. A CM approached me and asked if my kids would be interested in riding Dumbo with some of her very special friends. (Another family had been chosen earlier in the evening, but hadn't shown up). Of course we agreed and were taken to a door near the old Snow White Ride, where Mickey and Minnie came out, grabbed up my kids hands and wisked them off to Dumbo. They got their very own ride with Mickey and Minnie and then skipped over hand in hand with Mickey and Minnie to a photo area were a photopass photographer captured some family photos.

That's really awesome, a great story and magical memories! :lovestruc

And, it's exactly why I always tell anyone who thinks, 'I wanna wait till they are old enough to remember what happened on the trip', don't wait!! Why? Of course, we can make magic at any age on our trips to Disney, that's why so many keep going even as older adults, and with no kids! But, that magic that is made with our little ones is priceless! They live those moments of pure joy and elation, magic and wonder glowing in their eyes and in their smiles. And no, they probably won't remember, but life isn't always about remembering, but about living in the moment, and kids are great at that!! But we will remember!! And that is awesome and magical, too! ::yes:: Everybody gets to feel the magic, some in the moment, and some in the memories! And I think that's the awesome thing I love about the Disney magic!

Oh wow, that is so cute!! And another example of why it's so great to share the magic with our kids early! :thumbsup2

When you got to the part about your DH just beaming, that got my eyes a little teary! How sweet! :lovestruc

Oh my, and this one had me crying! I'm glad you still got to take all your kids and share magic of Disney with them the way your Dad, their Grandpa, wanted to! I'm sure he was looking down, loving them enjoying the magic he wanted to share! ::yes::

Oh, and have a great anniversary trip making some magic!

Afterall, that's what it's all about, making magical memories! :goodvibes

Mine took place after we were all adults on a family vacation ( my brother got engaged this trip )

One night, my brother, his girlfriend, my sister, her husband and myself ( all in our 20's at the time ) left Mom and Dad at the hotel and went off to Winter/Summerland for some mini golf. About 1/2 way through it started to drizzle - we were having a great time so we decided to stick around. Well, of course, by the time we get to the last hole it's pouring. We're all dodging raindrops and get to the car minimally wet.

I was driving back to the resort with the window about 1/2 way down. There was a car coming in the opposite direction - we saw this coming, but as it passed our car it kicked up a HUGE wave of water - that totally soaked everyone in the back seat. We laugh so hard! When we got to the hotel we still were all laughing. It's a favorite memory of everyone!

We've had a few really magical moments happen, most of which involved really special character interactions.

But the best so far? When my son, then 2, first met Mickey Mouse. He was almost jumping out of his skin with excitement over the idea of meeting "THE REAL MICKEY!!!!"

Seeing my small son approaching, Mickey knelt down and opened his arms. My son ran up and snuggled right into Mickey's arms and stayed there like he'd melted and fused to Mickey's magician costume. He didn't let go. He just gave a little sigh of contentment and snuggled. Minnie had to kneel down too, to get a little lovin'... but my little guy went right back into Mickey's embrace. After a few minutes, we tried to move him along, not wanting to take unfair advantage of everyone's patience when other kids were waiting... we even told him we were going to have to leave him with Mickey if he didn't come. (His reaction? "Okay. I stay! Bye!") But Mickey (and Minnie) let him take his time, and gave him so much attention and affection. They let him disentangle himself in his own time. He walked out on cloud 9, absolutely certain that Mickey loves him every bit as much as he loves Mickey. I could have kissed that Mouse for making my little boy feel so happy.

On DD's birthday this year we were in MK. We had just finished visiting Snow White and she overheard DH and I telling DD we were going to go see Merida next. Next thing we know, Snow White was coming around the corner and told DD to tag Merida for her. That trend continued for hours - each character sending us to tag someone else. The best was Tiana and Naveen. When Naveen heard they had been tagged by Aladdin and Jasmine, he started digging in the bushes for a stick. He finally found a stick he was content with and sent us to Mickey with the stick and told us to tell Mickey to give the stick to Pluto :)

I've had a couple but I had one that actually made me cry last October.

I had just finished chemo that month, so my hair was just barely growing back and when we met Ariel, she gave me an extra hug and whispered to me that I was still a beautiful princess.

We have had so many this trip. DD was selected to be in the Pirate show in HS, she was chosen to play the Beast in ETWB, watching the 25th anniversary motorcade and fireworks at HS, dining in the Beast's castle, having a CM ask for her autograph...there has been magic every single day, rain or shine, that is what keeps us coming back.

This one did me in!! My kids don't have their grandpa and I know how much he would love to see them having a wonderful time.

This thread made me change our itinerary for our upcoming trip st slow down and enjoy the magic. When I think of the magic of past trips, it is all these little moments that are most memorable. Thanks for the reminder!

:wizard::goodvibes Oh my gosh, these magical moments are so heartwarming! That is what makes Disney so special.
For me, there are a handful of moments that come to mind.

I was posing for a picture with Aurora in World Showcase when she was wearing her pink gown...I happened to be wearing a pink/coral dress too that day, and I usually never wear dresses at the parks. I stood next to her and smiled for the picture but Aurora said "Wait, princesses have to show off their pretty dresses" and she lifted up one side of her dress like a curtsy, and signaled for me to do the same with mine so we were posing like mirror images. It was a magical picture and moment for sure! princess:

One time in MK while watching the daytime parade, Smee came up to me and stole my camera before I could snap a picture of him (he gave it back, of course!) :lmao: . That was a cute moment.

One day DSis and I were having breakfast at 1900 Park Fare and unfortunately we were both very sick that day (isn't it funny how you get the worst colds at the most inopportune times!). Pooh came up to us and I love him but I was not really focused on taking pictures, but Pooh insisted I pose with him and it certainly brightened my spirits!

Also, one time as we were heading into the World Showcase from the boardwalk side and thinking about watching Illuminations, we asked a CM for advice on the best place to stand to get a good view of the fireworks. He handed us passes to view the show from a special area closer to the water! It was the best fireworks I can remember!

When my husband and I were on our honeymoon in 2002, we had an ADR for Tony's. When we arrived, they told us they were having technical difficulties and gave us other options for dinner. I don't remember the other options, b/c when they said Cinderella's Royal Table, we said "Uhhh, yes please!". So, when we left the restaurant, the park was closed and we were the only people on Main St. Everything was lit up with the castle behind us, and we strolled very slowly out of the park. It really was magical!!

Also, during the same trip, we took a pic of our feet (w/ shoes on) in the 'Lady and Tramp' heart right outside of Tony's. When we took our son and daughter 3 yrs. ago, we took the same picture w/ our feet and their feet. Next month, with our youngest son, and family complete, we will take the same picture with the 5 of us!

One more - On our trip 3 yrs. ago, my oldest son was doing a Kim Possible mission in Norway. When the chimneystack rose from one of the buildings and smoke was billowing out, he said "I'm creating Disney magic!" Then with another special effect, a flag rose and we could hear a Viking horn sound. Two men turned to look at the sound, and my son said "Should I tell them I'm doing that?" with a grin on his face. So, next month, we'll try to do all 7 missions. Can't wait!

So many of the magic moments have to do with characters. Mine does as well! I was having a "my feet are killing me, I'm exhausted, and I don't want to be here" moment. Chip and Dale walked up behind me. I didn't see them at all, but my husband did and was ready with the camera. There wasn't anyone else around (oddly!) so we interacted for about 5 minutes. They were so much fun that it completely turned my day around. I was wide awake, pain free, and ready to take on the park after that.

I have a one with each of my boys.

My oldest was 4 and my only at the time. For Christmas he kept asking for a present and I could not figure out what it was. I thought he was saying Motor Bus. We went up and down all the aisles in the toy department and all he kept saying was no, he didn't see it. He was so disappointed that Santa did not bring him the one thing he asked for. In May we took him to Disney it was our last day there and we were having fun shopping in the World of Disney store. He had on his Goofy hat and was having so much fun, and all of the sudden all I could hear was Motor Bus, Motor Bus and he was literally bouncing up and down in his stroller. It was a special Buzz Lightyear figure with a motor scooter. I love that picture of him sitting in his stroller so happy, finally holding his Motor Buzz. It seemed to sum up the whole week of just pure joy and happiness on his face.

My youngest was also 4 on his first visit to WDW. We were at Animal Kingdom and he was meeting Pocahontas. She asked him where we were from and he answered Texas. Then she asked him how we got there and he told her we walked. It was so much fun watching her have a serious conversation with our son about how we walked all the was from Texas to Florida.

I look back at all those pictures from their first visits when they believed they were meeting the "real" characters and how special and wonderful those characters made those moments for my boys is just magical and unforgettable!

Can't wait to see what magic moments we make on this trip, they are 18 & 13 and this is our big family vacation before our oldest son leaves for college in the fall. I know these moments will be different from the ones when they were 4 but I know they will be as wonderful and memorable!

We have several, but this is one of my favorites because it involves Disney magic that to this day I can't figure out. It was back when they were still doing the sword and the stone ceremony. I don't remember how old DS, who has Down Syndrome, was but he must have been around 12. He was chosen to pull out the sword. Then they did a cute little ceremony, he was declared Ruler of the realm for the day, and given a medal. That alone made our trip. But then Merlin wanted to sign his autograph book. We had not yet purchased one, so Merlin told him to wait and went to a gift shop and got him one. So again we are already over the top. But then came the best part. For the remainder of the entire day every CM we encountered in Fantasyland bowed to him and called him by name. To this day I have no idea how they all knew his name. We did not have anything that had his name on it. I could understand the CM's that were around right at the time of the ceremony. But not hours later. He felt so special that day. It was absolutely awesome.

We have a few. Being "ride testers" for Primeval Whirl, a fantastic CM at the GF, etc. but my favorite is with characters too. My DD and DS were just finished with Alice and the Mad Hatter in front of the tea cups, when Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum came up! We had so much fun with them! They took a series of pictures with our kids in the middle, and slowly squeezed them together. Not only are the pics hilarious, but the pure joy captured in their laughing faces makes my day every time I look at them.
