This is actually a test to see who is able to color within the lines. :lmao:

Context: DW55 and myself -- just us two; no kids, no friends, no other relatives with us.

Long time for us to decide, but I'm bored today...

Yes, I know there is no "Other" option... that's very very very deliberate! :lmao:

love the percentages listed on the poll...way over 100%...that's about the way I do math, too.:rotfl:

I say the Wave, Jiko and Tutto...but if Boma is for breakfast then I pick that too!

heheh... ideally the total would be close to 500% ... we need at least five meals.

i've have never even eatten at any of these restaurants...my disney life has obviously just begun....:goodvibes

You won't (or shouldn't) see any votes for Sanaa since it does not open until May 1st...

Of the list, I've been to Mama Melrose, Tuttos, Chefs de France. My opinions:

Mama Melrose- a really fun restaurant with great prices (the most expensive entree you can buy is 21 bucks!). I really like their flatbread pizza, their Artisan Spreads and Breads, their Warm Chocolate Truffle cake, and their fun drinks (Italian Surfer, anyone? :)). The atmosphere is like an old-fashioned Italian family restaurant with brick walls. It's very cozy and easy to linger over a meal.

Chefs de France--food is OK and the atmosphere is divine! I love the swirly mosaic tile floors, the hundreds of bright lights, the paned windows, and the dark green and mustard decor. The servers tend to be in a big rush and they must be asked to turn their tables in 45 minutes because everything happens very FAST there. But it's a can't-miss for atmosphere.

Tutto- Good food, kind of indifferent decor, and so-so service. The server here also tried to rush us through (but we were not to be rushed!). There's a strolling musical group that's lots of fun. I would go back, but DH was unimpressed and much prefers Mama Melrose (so do I).

Cal Grill: great location and view, terrific food, attentive service, and varied wine list. :thumbsup2

We've eaten at six on your list. My vote goes to Boma. DW says Brown Derby.

We ate at The Wave in December and it was fantastic. Cool design, great service and different choices on the menu. My 19 year old gave it two thumbs up and he's not usually one to try new and different foods.

I voted for Narcoossee's. From your choices we've only eaten there and Coral Reef. I liked them both but for just the two of you, I think Narcoossee's would be better. It is more relaxed and quiet plus the atmosphere is really nice.

I'd say Narcoossee's, Brown Durby, then Coral Reef. But like MickeyNicki said Boma for BREAKFAST is great!

We've eaten at most of the restaurants on your list, none were bad, but these are our favorites. Narcoossee's has the best surf & turf, as well as a great view of wishes and the EWP at night! Brown Durby's food, (especially their steaks) is wonderful, but we love the atmosphere at Coral Reef...watching all the sealife swim around in the tank while your waiting for your meal is some of the best entertainment around. I will say though, CR's menu and food isn't as good as the others I mentioned, but the atmosphere makes up for it.

We go to all of them...as you can tell, but if I had to pick one true favorite, it would be Narcoossee's. :lovestruc Good luck!

Thanks for all the input so far.... I'll probably bump this thread a few times over the next six months, especially after Sanaa opens.

Just a bit more background: We've been to all these restaurants, except Sanaa, The Wave and Tutto Italia. We're not going to be on the dining plan (unless it has suddenly becoming a good deal vis a vis using TS credits at signature restaurants, because we will be doing at least two dinners at signature restaurants).

The "just us, no kids with us this time" point is significant: If you have an opinion about which restaurants are especially good without children, please chime in!

Of the restaurants on your list We've only eaten at the Coral Reef, Wave, Cali grill and Boma for both dinner and breakfast.
My first pick would be Cali grill, and if you happen to be staying at the Contemporary as a guest they will throw silver and white foil castle confetti on the table. We had this in November and it was so beautiful I almost cried. Second, I would choose Boma for dinner.

Oh! More background (and that might explain some of the bias in my list): We're staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

So choices at the MK resorts are on the list specifically as options for the day(s) we're visiting the Magic Kingdom Park... we'd leave the park, take the monorail, etc. That probably effectively excludes Narcoossee , Citricos and California Grill, because they have dress codes. I didn't think of that before.... oops. Okay so we're kind of out of luck with regard to dining for the evening we go to the Magic Kingdom, eh? (No, we're not interested in going to Kona Cafe, Whispering Canyon, etc.) I suppose we could go to Animal Kingdom during the day, have lunch at Yak and Yeti, so we won't really be hungry for dinner anyway.

I choose Boma because I love this restaurant. The atmosphere and the setting was great and the food was amazing. This has to be on all my trips for now on.:yay:

We went to the California grill this past Novemeber and November 2006, both times I saw plenty of people in their park clothes, shorts, flip flops. I know they have a dress code but I did not see many people dressed up the 2 nights we dined there. The fireworks look so cool from up high! Have fun where ever you decide.
