Your favorite dining rotation

Hi Everyone,
Throwing out another question and hope to get lots of imput. We, that being me, DH, and DDs 13 and 11 are booked in a Category 3 for the June 19th Western on the Magic. I understand we can ask for a specific rotation before we cruise.
What is your ideal rotation/time and why?

PS (I am leaning toward skipping the evening dinner in Palo and would like to book the brunch instead, as my DH and I love brunches but don't bother with the DDs because they are too picky. Of course it can't conflict with the Character Brunch morning because I can't miss that!)

I would definately go for the PALPALP dining rotation. It puts you in Parrot Cay for tropical night, and Lumiere's for Formal Night, and also because Parrot Cay is my favorite restaurant, you would get to go there three times as apoosed to two.

I would agree with CruiserDew73. We had the same rotation and loved it! But then again, you're on a Disney cruise so why wouldn't you absolutely love it!!

That's not true.

First, there is no such thing as a PALPALP rotation. The rotations are PLAPLAP, LAPLAPL, and APLAPLA.

On the Western itinerary, the formal and semi-formal nights are Monday and Thursday; amd the tropical/Mexican night is Wednesday. So APLAPLA would put you into Lumiere's on the formal and semi-formal nights and into Parrot Cay on tropical/Mexican night.

That said, I didn't ask for a specific rotation. I'll leave it up to DCL to pick the rotation that is appropriate based on the age of our children.

We'll be on the same cruise. Cat 3, cabin 8534. We are planning on requesting APL for the rotation. Maybe we'll run into each other onboard. Me, DW, DS 11 & DS 8.

Is any one of the three offered on the Magic Beats being at home and doing the cooking yourself.

Yea, it "makes sense" to try and be in Lumiere's for formal night, but all of the wait staff is dressed in dark suits so it really doesn't matter where you are. We were in Animators on the last cruise and the chairs in there fit with the formal stuff (they have black and white chairs) so Animators is a good place to be on formal night. Parrot Cay seems to be the only restaurant where the decor with "clash" with the formal attire.

Bottom line - it really doesn't matter what rotation you have - "It's All Good"

Albeers- thought you might want to know that APL is typically the rotation for those with small children,don't know if tha amtters to you.

does anyone know if you can find out your rotation before you arrive at port? I would like to decide on a night for Palo's but do not want to miss the first night in Animators. Will Disney tell you if you ask?

Our four cruises have all been LAPLAPL and we love it. We even did one at the early seating. Our next cruise we'll probably go back to the late seating though.

I like Lumieres better than the others. It is a "classy" style setting. Parrot Cay is second.

As for Palos; we love the dining rotation so much that we do not go there for evenng meals. We did do the champagne brunch and liked it a lot. It is a do again.

Thank you all for the input. I think I just may sit back and see what they select for us-they must have a plan that works well for most people. As usual the obsessive-compulsive planner in me wants to be ready for anything!

Hi Alan,
Thanks for responding too! We'll be in Cabin 8086-it was the last one left. I booked early but didn't decide to upgrade until a couple months later when a cancellation came in, so I feel lucky to have grabbed it. Looks like you'll be in a very nice spot midship. I hope we run into your family on the cruise- my DD 11 has more friends who are boys than girls, so maybe they'll hit it off and spend some time in the Lab. Have you been on a DCL cruise before? This is our first and I am having a blast reading the boards, although I did have to give it up for a while because it was too much too soon. But now I can really get excited for it as it'll be here before I know it. Have fun planning!
