Need some help-we are looking for a BW area restaurant to have our "after wedding lunch."-around 18 people. We are not looking for a reception venue or even a private dining room, just looking for a great place to have a nice lunch.

Please list your favorite Boardwalk area restaurant-whether it's located along the Boardwalk or in one of the walking distance resorts (Swan, Dolphin, Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk Inn). & please mention why you like them.

Please do not list any Epcot restaurants, as I would like to wear my dress in the restaurant & they don't allow that in the parks.

Thanks!!

Wow, lunch is hard, as I wouldn't choose any for an after wedding lunch.

We have seen wedding dinners at Flying Fish right when they open.
We love Flying Fish and there would be something on the menu to please all your guests.

Another great spot would be Il Mulino, over at the Swan, right when they open. If you have a larger party, they have side rooms to seat you in.
The food and service are fantastic.

Other than that, nothing really special for a wedding dinner. Enjoy!

THe Lunch menu WDWinfo and allears have for Fresh is wrong. It is no longer a buffet for lunch. It is A la Carte. But the dessert buffet is included:thumbsup2

Uggh, this part is more difficult than I thought, but we'll figure this out I guess. We were originally going to go to the Garden View Tea Lounge at the GF, but decided to change it because it seems like too much of a hassle to transport all of us & I really want to enjoy lunch in my dress. We are looking into a Swan/Dolphin ceremony & it's not certain we will be allowed to enter the GF in my dress because I won't be an official Disney bride.

We've never had a bad meal at Disney though, so I'm really just looking at atmosphere & comfort.

I would prefer a lunch, not dinner, because we are planning a morning ceremony, then photos, then lunch, and then I'd like to change into "normal" clothes & hit the parks!!;) Brunch would be fun, but I don't think we could time that correctly. I WISH we could hit up a WS restaurant, but I really want to wear my dress.

-How is the food at Big River Grille & Captain's Grill?
-Fresh at the Dolphin looks pretty, but I"d prefer no buffets in a wedding dress:scared1:
-Definately no ESPN Club-I"ve heard the food is terrific but it's not the atmosphere I want to spend my wedding lunch.

So far, Big River is peaking my interest the most. I think they are located next to the BWI, so that commute should be fine. I wonder if it's too casual for a bridal lunch....is it similar in atmosphere to ESPN?

Here's the link to the correct menus for Fresh.

I think it would be a lovely spot for your luncheon. And since it is a convention hotel, you may be able to get a small private room for your group.

Wow you are the best-thank you!! and thank you for those photos-I might opt for a violet eclair instead of wedding cake!!:worship:

Silly question, but what does A La Carte mean? A regular menu?
I'll check out that link right now!
This place might be perfect!

Have you eaten there before? How is the food, atmosphere, etc..?

Yes a la carte means you order from the menu. We really liked the food there:thumbsup2

Here's some pictures of the restaurant.

Mrzrich:

You are so kind-thank you for posting those! :goodvibes

The restaurant looks BEAUTIFUL-just the atmosphere I was going for!

Could you tell me what the view is outside the windows? What does the restaurant overlook-a courtyard?

BTW, I noticed your ribbon in your signature. I'm an applied behavior analyst/sped teacher:)
Your son sounds so cute. I actually ask that very same question to my DF everyday!:rotfl:

Big River serves food that is a lot like your typical chain -- Chili's, Ruby Tuesday's, etc. However, it is really nice if the weather is good, and you can all sit outside. (We had a large party there once and pulled probably six tables together. We sat outside under a beautiful sky and had one of the most memorable times we've had at WDW with our friends.) Inside, it's just a brewery.

What time is your wedding? If you are getting married early enough, you could do a brunch a Spoodles. They don't stop serving breakfast until 11:00, and their space is really beautiful (with magnificent food)!

Just a thought, but, of course, you really don't want to have to rush to eat after your wedding.
