We have booked two character meals for the kids. Oh who am I kidding I know I am going to LOVE the character meals too.

But now we want to make a couple of ressies for dinners at restaurants not totally themed for just kids.
So what are your favorite kid friendly restaurants for dinner?

Thanks.

Our family really enjoyed Biergarten in Epcot. DD3 loved the pretzel bread, potato soup, potato dumpings, mac & cheese (I think that was the only non-German thing on the buffet), schnitzel, and sausages. The music was very entertaining and there is a dance floor for the children (and adults). Our daughter had a blast dancing and doing the "chicken dance". Very fun!

We tried Coral Reef for the first time in June, 2007. It was the best meal we had in our 10 day trip! The theming is great, the food was delicious and the servers were very attentive.

One entire wall is a glass window and you can see the different fish, sharks and rays swimming by. There is no bad seat in the restaurant as the seating is tiered. The theming is not specifically for children but it's a good choice for a family with children.

My husband had the blackened catfish which was sooo good (and we are from La. where they raise catfish). I had the NY strip and it was delicious as well. Our picky 10 year old had the kids pizza meal.

We also like the Sci-Fi and have eaten there four times. It's another restaurant not specifically themed for children but it definitely has a theme. The restaurant looks like a drive in theater and you sit in cars. Old black and white films play during your meal. I have heard others say the food was not so good but we have never had a bad meal at the Sci-Fi.

This year, we are trying Ohana at the Polynesian. This will be our first trip there but we have friends and family who eat there every time they go to WDW. I am looking forward to the music and the skewers of meats.

Hope this helps.

Dinner service has no characters but does have activities for children if they care to get up from their seats to participate. This is great if you have kids who aren't great "sitters". The entertainer is a hoot (now, I don't think she's SUPPOSED to be funny, but I tell you she's so awful, that it's funny!) and after a libation from the adjacent bar, I can go with the flow:goodvibes

The Coral Reef has a great view of the aquarium and that usually keeps the kids occupied for awhile.

The belly dancer at Marakesh is also very entertaining--even for Dad. ;)

We like Ohana's and Princess Storybook Dining (for the characters). Although I find Coral Reef is great entertainment for my two children as well.

Ohana and Boma.

Ohana is fun and the food is good. (The lady can't sing but she is fun.) Boma's has a great menu for children and there was a cool drum lesson out in the lobby when the children were finished eating. My husband and I sat and ate a quiet dessert while the children learned African drumming. We'll always remember Boma for that :lovestruc .

We tried Whispering Canyon for the first time on our last trip. It was very unique and it is entertaining for kids and adults. It is located at the Wilderness Lodge Resort.

Another place we like is the 50s Prime Time at Disney Hollywood Studios. The waiters/waitresses act like your parents but on harder on the adults and the kids get to slide. They love the fact that their parents are getting "corrected" for not eating their vegetables, or elbows on the table, etc.

Ohana for dinner is great. We also love Whispering Canyon. We didn't enjoy our meal at Coral Reef. The food was delicious but the room was really dark and the kids were kind of freaked by it.:flower3:
