Your earliest Disney park memory: how old were you, especially if you went as a child?

I remember Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland when I was five in the late sixties.

My sons first trip was when he was four. We went about 3-4 years in a row so his memories (as well as mine) somewhat blur together. But we both have good memories from those trips.

Keep in mind that it is not all about the children. My memories of watching my young child have fun are equally rewarding even if he does not recall them as vividly as me.

You know, it's really funny, but we took a trip to Disney, Universal, and Sea World when I was four years old. I remember a very small portion of the plane ride down, bits and pieces of Sea World and Universal, but not a bit of the Disney portion :rotfl:

I have a vague memory of being afraid of Maelstrom, but I'm not sure if that was the trip when I was four, or the trip when I was six.

My first trip was summer of 1974 -- almost 8 years old. I remember the book of tickets we had and riding Peter Pan and IASW about a million times. Pirates was my favorite ride :goodvibes. I have vague memories of the Country Bear Jamboree, eating lunch at a sit down restaurant (?Crystal Palace :confused3), and the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse. The characters did roam free back then -- my mom has pictures of us with Goofy.

Going back as an adult was very cool -- especially those things that I loved when I was 8. It was awesome to ride Peter Pan and Pirates again -- I had such vivid memories of them. I did remember loving IASW as a child but when I took my DS6 on it, after about 3 minutes we both were ready to jump overboard LOL.

My parents first took me at 8 months old, but the first trip I have any memories of was in 1984, when I was five years old. I remember staying in the Poly and spending time in the pool, and meeting the characters and the long lines at the rides. I also remember how boring Epcot was on that first trip!

My DDs have grown up at the world. DD #1 was 10 months on her first trip, and DD #2 was 8 months old. They both have gone on 2+ yearly trips since that time.
