Looking for a fun tour for me, DH, DD (8), DS (13) and DMIL (82). What did you think was the coolest tour where you learned things that you wouldn't have otherwise?

Sadly, you'll be limited to what tours you can take your eight year old and thirteen year old on.
I know you can do the family magic tour at MK. I think you can do the "behind the seeds" at the land. (If it's still offered.) And I think the train tour is open to people 10 and up.

I'm sure someone else will be able to confirm it for you.

My husband and I did the Backstage Tour a couple years back (You have to be 16 and up) and we loved it. I want to take my daughter on the Keys to the Kingdom so badly, but she still has to wait 3 more years to be able to go.

Behind the Seeds: Take a walking tour of the "Living with the Land" attractions. Explore various areas within the greenhouse and techniques used for raising crops. $12 per adult - buy tickets at the Land - very informative

Disney’s Behind the Magic of Our Steam Trains: Get an insider’s look at one of Walt Disney's greatest passions, steam trains. You'll join the opening crew as they prepare the Magic Kingdom's steam trains for their daily operation. You’ll visit the backstage roundhouse where these treasured transports are maintained and stored. All aboard for a ride on the Lilly Belle, Roy O. Disney, Walter E. Disney or Roger E. Broggie. $40 - ages 10 and up - but I think can take a bit younger kids

Epcot Seas Aqua Tour: Time to slip on your swimsuit and slip into the waters of the Living Seas. Your tour begins with a fascinating behind the scenes look at the aquarium. The grand finale is a half hour spent in the water with the inhabitants of this amazing facility. Your tour includes a group photo, refreshments, all of your gear and a T-shirt. PLEASE NOTE: Bathing suits are required. Wetsuits are provided and must be worn. Lockers are provided. Scuba certification is not needed. The water temperature will be in the mid-70s. No cameras/videotaping allowed. Other members of your party may be able to photograph you from inside the exhibit. (Park Admission will be required.) ahh - 82 year old - limited walking ?

I would stick to the EPCOT Land - Seed tour. They stop along the way - not a tremdous amout of walking. Places to eat before or after the tour.

Or the MK Train Tour - just walking around the depot- I bet has places to sit down and a train ride back and forth - but it starts at 7:30 AM

Or EPOCT Sea's tour - you guys swim and 82 year old MIL watches and takes pictures (and gets to sit down)

Just not sure how active your MIL is.
