When do you think is the right age for someone to be dating? Or mature enough?

In middle school so many people have boyfriends/girlfriends and take things soo seriously now. It's only middle school. =O

My little brother & cousin said a kid at school (in 6th grade) was crying because his girlfriend broke up with her =O Wow. Even when he was in elementary kids at his school had girlfriends/boyfriends. (Lol I even had a 'girlfriend' in elementary). Even though I did "date" people in middle school/elementary, I never really took any of it seriously, or really cared (but they did... and I felt bad sometimes).

When I was 15 I had my first 'real' girlfriend (lasted 3 weeks lol), and I'm 16 now and have a girlfriend named Katye.

Kids are having sex in 6th grade. Its more than just "boyfriend/girlfriend" holding hands. It makes me feel really old to read about it. Its like, god, did we do that at that age?

I'm 15. I'm in a serious long term relationship.

He's the only person I've ever dated, and vice versa. We were each other's first kiss.

I never wanted to be one of those girls who had someone new every week. I waited until I felt ready to be in a relationship. Its sad kids start so early. Call me old fashion, but I like being with the only guy I've kissed.

Those kids are going to regret it someday, someday soon. They're going to contract an STD, and, depending on the sort, that could ruin your life, or end it.

It just amazes me what kids think they're ready for.

When I was in 6th grade this girl did inappriate things with guys and I was like woah.She's so young. Alot of girls actually,I hear so many things that couples do with each other and Im like woah.

But hey if they want to do that then so be it.

You wouldn't believe how many girls are pregnant at my high school (well you probably will lol). I go to a small high school (about 500 people) and I hear that there are about 20 or a little less girls pregnant. But some for sure, because you can obviously see it.

At my "former" school there were like one person who was pregnant. But it was a hideous rape scandel, involving a party and some football players. Around here almost all the people are preppy nice. And very innocent. Oh how my neighborhood would frown upon underage pregnancy.

uh. well. i guess i'd say it's okay in 7th and 8th grade (if your mature enough) to go out and say hold hands, kiss, hug, be seen in public, slow dance, etc. but not have sex. i personally believe in abstinence and i dont' want this to be a whole big thing. but that's because i have major dreams and i dont' want children or immature men who just take women for sex messing them up.

I think it's okay to have a gf/bf in around 7th/8th grade. Although I didn't think that, in 4th grade I thought I was so mature, I had 3 boyfriends

But as for sex, I think when you are mature enough, and fully ready you can.

I've only had "abstinence only" sex ed. and 4 years of it, at that. Nothing has soured me more on abstinence than that did. Other things should be taught. Abstinence only is bad.

I started dating when I was 16..I dated one guy on and off through high school until I was 18. I have been in relationships ever since..lasting anywhere from a few months to over a year than being single for a while then dating again.
I am currently single and very happy with it since I am in no position to start a serious relationship at the moment.

I think that as long as they don't go "too far" (ya know what I mean), it's perfectly fine at about 7th or 8th grade.

I don't like those girls who ask a boy out on Monday and dump them on Wednesday. It's unbelievable that kids do that. If that's what all middle schoolers do, then they are obviously not ready for a serious relationship. There's the most popular girl who's been with the most popular guy for *gasp* approx. 7 months. But they do "break up" every week or so and then forgive each other the next day.

There are some really immature kids in our school. I'll get on the bus in the morning and be amazed at what I hear flying out of these kids mouths. They not only say curse words, but throw rude and unnessecary comments at one another. Eek.

I, personally, am in love. And I'm not talking about one of those cheesy boyfriend deals (more like scams) I've mentioned above. I think if I (or he) mustered up the courage to confront each other, we could really love each other (and I don't mean "you know what"). Like, I've seen some signs. He talks to me, and he's only "rude" around his friends. He gives me these weird stares in our Spanish class; I think that's his way of getting my attention. And golly, does it work! He's said hi to me numerous times in the hallway, and I've caught him sneaking some looks at me in gym class. So today I was proud of myself when he looked my way while I was hitting the win for us in volleyball. I want to tell him so bad, but it's so hard. Once I asked him why he gives me those looks, and he thought I was mad, so he was like, "I'm sorry" and I was like, "No no, I just wanna know why you look at me in Spanish" He started to laugh, I think that was a sign. He might have been laughing because he thinks I should know why he stares. And I do. Ah, love love love...

I'm in sixth grade and I'm going out with a guy. At our school "dating" is out. it's now going out with. If you think someone going out with another person on a date at age 11/12 is bad.....My cousin is 8 and she went on a date with a boy! I just about died when I found out!
