June: "You're just different, Raven. It's hard to know that your Daddy is gone. But it's even harder knowing he might be alive, keeping it from you. It makes you feel unloved, like you weren't important enough to know. But I still might be wrong, he might be dead, and if he is, I feel absolutely horrible talking like this."

OOC: Does Raven even feel a twinge of guilt about lying to her? I mean, she is an agent, but still.

And Raven's good enough at tuning out of her emotions and into logic that 99% of the time she tunes out of her emotions because they're just too difficult for her to process.

Like, think of Natasha Romanov for a moment. Natasha Romanov was raised from since she was a little girl to be an assassin, way before she ever defected to SHIELD. She learned to become detached from her emotions and so even in adulthood, she's practically always grim, always serious, very good at hiding what she's thinking or feeling or what her motives are behind a blank mask.

Raven is basically a slightly less-experienced Black Widow, if perhaps slightly more psychotic but that can be blamed on teenager emotional issues.

Raven: She put her face in her hands. Weepy grieving girls were so not her forte and definitely not improving her mood. "What doi you expect me to do about it? You can't raise the dead!"

June: She stood and ran out the room, slamming the door, finding Phil, falling into his arms, and crying. "I h-hate her."

Raven: She sighed and got up, closing and relocking the door. Other than the Coulsons when they were in their right minds, and Hill when she wasn't being a brat and acted her age, Hope was the only other person in the house that was anything more than tolerable. Everyone was too cheerful, or dramatic, or emotional, or young and immature.

Nova: Nova saw the mansion in a distance. She said, "Mmm hmm."

Jeff: Jeff noticed Nova looking a little edgy. He asked, "Everything alright?"

Nova: "Yeah." she murmured. "My family just doesn't tend to like strangers."

Jeff: "Oh." He blinked. "I guess I should just drop you off here then."

Nova: "Um, yeah, I guess."

Jeff: "Well, I guess I'll see you at school?" he asked. "Maybe lunchtime."

Nova: "Yeah, do you want to meet up after school?" she replied. "Well after-"

Nova: "Well after my-" Nova couldn't get herself to spit it out. "Cheerleading practice."

Jeff: "You're a cheerleader?" Jeff looked a Nova with an interested expression. "That's rad."

Nova: "Not really." she muttered. "I'm not really into parading around in silly outfits."

Jeff: "You're kidding!" he cried. "The cheerleaders get to lead the pep rallies."

Nova: "I'm not peppy."

Jeff: He laughed. He said, "I've never met a cheerleader who wasn't peppy." He walked off.

Nova: Nova smirked. She thought, Perhaps I do have the opportunity to make friends after all. Nova went inside.

penny: She looked in the living room, opening up a cupboard. Sure enough, under a few other board games was candy land. She walked back to the others, carrying the box. "okay, who's playing?"
