I love your theory! Throw in a 15-month hysterical pregnany, a maybe gay but then not really storyline and a SORAS-ed kid & you could be the head writer of Y&R!

I wonder if Sheila is involved with this in any way - or if Sheila is Ryder's mom....that crossed my mind, but I like your story better!!!

Billy lashes out at Paul and JT • Jack lashes out at Victor, they finally clue in to where Colleen may be • Patty is waiting for Colleen but as time passes, she thinks she's been abandoned • Colleen has hit her head and is now under water, her life flashes before her eyes as she thinks of her loved ones.

Next - Jack has arrived at the camp site, Patty is ready to shoot

oh crap - i think colleen died today

it was a sad show - i was crying by the end.

Brad came back to take her to heaven

it's been posted on twitter and i think here that AMbers mom is Ryder's mom

don't know how true that is though

Colleen Dies! Jack Blames Victor!

This week, Patty's reign of terror leaves Colleen dead and Jack blaming Victor for the tragic loss of his young neice.

"Jack feels he should have protected Colleen, that he's responsible for her being in Patty's grasp," explains Peter Bergman. "But the Victor thing could not be any clearer. None of this would have happened if Victor had not brought Patty to town."

After Jack finds Patty and discovers Colleen unconscious by the lake, Patty yanks out a gun and stops Jack from calling 911. In the middle of the insanity, Victor shows up to "fix" the situation, but Jack thinks he's only trying to "save his own ***." Says Bergman, "Victor knows all the damage Patty has done, and he's there to shut her up."

Victor tries persuading Patty to give up the gun, "because she'll pay too big a price for shooting Jack and he isn't worth it," says Bergman. "When Victor diverts Patty, it suddenly occurs to her that he is responsible for all of this. Patty turns and shoots Victor.

Three times in the chest! Jack is in complete shock. "This is crazy," says Bergman.

Realizing what just happened, Patty escapes. Jack calls 911 just as J.T. and Paul arrive. While Paul runs after his demented sis, J.T. and Jack wait for the ambulance to arrive.

Once they arrive at the hospital, Jack holds out hope that Colleen will be alright. "As long as her heart is beating, he keeps telling himself she'll be okay."

Later, a doctor delivers some heartbreaking news to the Abbott and Newman clans: Colleen isn't breathing on her own and the chances of Victor surviving his gunshot wounds are slim. When Ashley arrives with Adam, Jack explains how Victor is involves in this whole mess. "Jack's not equipped to tell Ashley a bunch of lies. He's at his wit's end," explains Bergman. "He needs Ashley to know what is going on -- why Patty shot Victor -- because Victor was responsible for bringing Patty to town."

Meanwhile, Traci and Steve are given even more devastating news. "They learn Colleen is brain-dead," reveals Bergman. "Jack is just decimated. No sooner does Jack get this information, than out comes Victor's doctor with great news. It looks like he's going to be okay. That sends Jack over the edge. He cannot believe this beautiful young girl dies because of Victor, and he gets a second chance. it's wrong on every front imaginable."

Jack lunges at Victor's hospital room door, screaming that he should've died and not Colleen. "It's ugly," admits Bergman. "Paul and Nick have to drag Jack out of there. It's hard to imagine anything that could make Jack loathe Victor any more, but here's another reason."

In the midst of the devastation, "Jack looks around and sees this family that he told his father he would look after, and it's a mess," says Bergman. "He has a sister who's almost in the nuthouse. Another sister who just lost her only child. And his niece, the kindest, sweetest girl, is dead. Jack's done a horrible job keeping his family from harm, and it's going to weigh on him heavily."

Kay Learns Jill's Secret

For months, Jill has kept quiet about the fact that she's lost he fortune and is now working at the Genoa City nail salon. This week, Katherine finally discovers the truth about Jill being penniless!

"They're arguing at the Chancellor mansion about Jill not paying her property taxes, and Jill gives in and gives Katherine a check," explains Jeanne Cooper. "But then Kay sees the check isn't signed and follows Jill... and finds out that she's been working at the salon."

Jill is horrified when Katherine shows up, while a shocked Kay is overwhelmed with nostalgia. "It reminds her of when she first met Jill and Jill was working at the salon," notes Cooper. "Seeing Jill working there now gives Katherine an idea of what Jill might've been if they hadn't met. She doesn't understand at first why Jill would want to work there, but then realizes how determined Jill is, and is reminded of why she liked her in the first place."

The two women finally admit that they've missed their dysfunctional friendship. Later, Kay leaves Jill a rather generous tip.

thanks to Kenny

Okay.........after reading Kurbys reviews and HonnyDipps spoilers. It looks like we had all better keep a supply of tissue near by.

Thanks for the updates ya'll. :goodvibes

i'm already through with Y&R...i'm especially upset that they let colleen drown just like brad did, and killed off basically an entire family in one year. is victor still getting her heart? that is just the ULTIMATE insult, especially with the way he treated her. i MIGHT consider watching again if victoria rowell returned as drucilla.
i think we should all write for Y&R-we could do a heck of a lot better than the bunch of drooling monkeys they've got doing it now! (sorry, that's an insult to all monkeys). can y'all tell i'm upset my show has been ruined? lol

And it appears they have the money to keep hiring new actors? But they threaten to fire Nikki and Jill? Why does the show need another billionaire? And why recast Malcolm when they don't even use Neil and Olivia on a regular basis?

Get this: It has been rumored that the show is after Dinah from GL. I love her, she is a wonderful actress. People have been wondering if they are going to replace Vicki with her. I don't have a problem with that. But now there are rumors that she is being cast as Diane Jenkins!!!! The actress is younger than I am, and I was a little girl when Jack cheated on Patty with Diane!!!! Surely someone got this one wrong, but with this writing staff I just don't know. If they wanted her so bad, and Colleen was busy with other projects, why not cast her as Colleen? It isn't like anyone else is the correct age on this show anymore (P3/Cane for example....).

I know how you feel. I am trying to look at is as they are finally finishing off my great need to stay in and watch TV during the middle of the day. Maybe I will finally get something done around here.:rolleyes1

I was wondering the same thing. I missed a few years of GL so so I'm thinking it was something a long time ago. Did you notice that Justin had a french ancent? I do hope someone know why they were there. It's breaking my heart that GL is going off the air. I remember my mom and grandma talking about Reva on the phone almost daily when I was little. I know it sounds dumb, but I feel like I'm losing a link to my mom and grandma. For all other GL viewers, here's a tissue for friday.

Does anyone know how much soap stars are paid? As someone who’s been unemployed for a few months, my first concern is that they are able to pay their bills! I know it’s crazy but I’m serious! They’re like family! Funny isn’t it, how you can become so attached as you watch them year after year. I haven’t even watched GL for a few years, because of the time change, but before digital TV I could tune in on the radio and listen to ALL the CBS soaps so I “kept in touch”. Shame they ddnt make it to the SOAP Network.

OK, OK …so who’s as old as I am!
I was watching when I was in grade school!! Do you remember….

• I can remember as far back as my mother discussing Roger assaulting Holly! (No one would explain it to me)
• Bert Bauer fighting cancer (was it breast cancer?)
• when Reva Shayne first came to town,
• when Vanessa met Billy,
• when Ross found out that his brother Justin Marler was the biological father of Philip Spaulding.
• when Tony Reardon and Annabelle got married!
• when Maureen forgave Ed for cheating on her (she eventually adopted Michelle Bauer and loved her like her own daughter!)
• when Sherry Stringfield played “Chrissie” Blake Bauer Thorpe
• when Ed had a brother, Mike Bauer. What happened to Mike?
• when Philip and Rick saved Beth from her stepfather.

I could go on and on! Wow, I’m really sad! I certainly wish them all the very, very best!!

Y&R hadn’t started yet….but I remember when it did start!! and it was just a ½ hour!

exactly! they try to force the central actors take pay cuts and get rid of established characters due to "budget issues", yet they're recasting previous roles?!? what a crock. dinah from GL is WAAAAAYYY too young to play diane jenkins! case in point:

alex donnelly played diane jenkins from 1986 to 2001, she's 50 years old!
gina tognoni is currently playing dinah marler on GL, and she's 35!
both of their profiles, including birthdates, are available on imdb.com.

just for the record, tammin sursok is 26 years old.
i am consistently amazed at the way the current writing staff thumbs their noses at Y&R's history and rewrites it out of thin air.

Amen! It would make so much sense! There have been other girls who have played Colleen before Tammin Sursok, so why not another!

I am hating this episode today. When it ended yesterday Colleen was pushing off in a canoe. Today she starts under the water? I feel like I missed a day. But even if I didn't, I don't like this floating and taking thing.

I'm not sure if I can sit through this again tomorrow - it gave me the heebie jeebies:sad2:. Where's the US Open when you need it?

As heart-breaking as today's scenes were, I thought they were done very well. I actually found myself thinking (through my tears) "how comforting that as a child is dying she can feel the presence of those she loves around her." Ok that didn't come out right, but I just felt that Colleen's character was at peace as she died. Oh and when Brad took her hand at the end, I sobbed & sobbed. And I never even really liked Colleen!

This show just gets worse and worse. I think I'm going to take a break from it, and I've been watching since the beginning. Boring, dragged out story lines. Unbelievable situations.

I need a hobby! :rotfl:

I totally agree with you, I thought it was done so well. I sorta hope that death in real life would be much like this. Support and love from the people who mean the most to you. Sounds morbid but I guess I have thought about it.

And I never really liked Colleen either!! :)
