My parents are at Pop Century right now. I spent quite a bit of time helping them plan their time down there. I just got off the phone and she said "We're going to Disney today."

I told her a thousand times "Don't call MK, Disney!"

Just hopeless!!

LOL, that cracks me up too..lol.

The girl on the travel channel was even doing it the other night on Great Hotels..lol.

MaryKatesMom, I know what you mean. My sister-in-law and her family are going to florida next month to visit her husband's sister. Last year they went and spent one day at MK. This year they will do a different park. When she told my mother-in-law that they were going my M-I-L could not understand why they would go again. After all, they have already been there and why spend the money to go to someplace they've already been. There are so many people who have no concept of the size of WDW or how much there is to do there. My M-I-L must think that I am crazy because I am going again (5th trip) in Dec. It's the only place on earth where I get to be 5 years old again and not get locked up. :wave2:

Yup...I understand, know a lady who says they went to Walt Disney World and to Epcot...it is hopeless...::yes::

Yup I know what you mean, someone did it this morning on one of the first posts I read, asked if they should do Disney on Saturday. I did not reply, or ask if they meant MK or Disney MGM studios.

I used to call MK "Disney"...but that was when I was 5 and didn't know any better. ;)

I walked out of my hotel room at PO Riverside last December and a very nice lady stopped me to ask if I knew how to get to Disney World. I really wanted to say "Yes", but I figured she was headed to the MK, so I pointed her in the direction of the bus stop.

The last time my husband was at WDW, MK was the only park.

It's going to be such a wonderful thing to see his surprise when we get there in 24 days!!

He has no idea what is in store for us.

My SIL's boyfriend told us he has never been to Disney World...then he told us he has been to Epcot.

LOL! :)

Some people just don't get the whole concept. We had my MIL there 2 weeks ago. She kept saying stuff about "Disneyland". My 11 yr old kept correcting her. She would get so mad. She kept telling him. Disneyland and Disney World ARE the same place. It's all in how you want to say it. I told him not to even bother correcting here.

I admit that I sometimes do it myself when I am talking to people!!! Sorry!!!! I know the appropriate name for it though. A lot of people don't know that there are 4 separate parks. One of my friends thought everything was in one big park. She had no idea! It doesn't really bother me when people say that. WDW was originally just the MK so people are just used to calling it that I guess. Getting DW and DL mixed up, however, is a different story!

Get a load of this...

A lady I know and her DH went to WDW and stayed at the Comptemporary tower . They got length of stay passes with thier package. They were there 7 nights.

She said WDW was a waste of money and she got bored after two days. I asked if she went to all the parks in just two days. She said "Yes, we went to Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Adventureland, etc."

She thought that when her travel agent said her passes were good for all the parks in Disneyworld that MK was Disneyworld and the individual lands were the parks. She had no idea that she could also go to Epcot, MGM, and AK. She thought those cost extra cause they weren't part of Disneyworld

The confusion exist on the West Coast also. I've taken guest from back East (big time WDW vacationers) to DL and they've asked, "Are we going to the Magic Kingdom today?" I usually correct them by telling them that we call it Disneyland and that the Magic Kingdom is in Orlando.

"they went to Walt Disney World and to Epcot"

My friends husband kept saying the EXACT same thing before their trip in February- it drove me INSANE! I kept saying "Joe B,"(his nickname) .."it's ALL Disney!" Then again, I am an addict.:p
