"You want to ride Dinosaur again?" - New 10/21 - The End!

Hey Amy,

I caught your mention of Zachary's Social Skills Group and you waiting-I signed David up for three weeks of Social Skills Camp-it seemed like a good idea at the time-in the spring-when I wasn't thinking about the 50 minute ride back and forth for three hours in the morning...(1/2 day camp-9-12)...:confused3

He's already done 2-well 1 1/2 weeks-he got a stomach bug-then he had a break and he has a week to go back to next week...

It doesn't make sense for me to drive home -too long-so I was thinking I wish I had a couple of fandax with my special interest-(Disney anyone ?)-actually there's a grocery store near there and a Starbucks so I have a legitimate excuse to take my laptop in there and come on Disboards...:surfweb:

(Actually DS is all about Star Wars right now...-we've not only watched the whole series-because of his fandex he can tell you everything you want to know about all-and I do mean ALL of the main characters-we will be riding Star Tours and checking out the Jedi Academy and making a light saber at DTD...:rolleyes1-we will be picking up the Presidents...it will make a nice addiction to his collection of interests-fortunately he has about 3-4 going at a time-so we can toggle back and forth...:goodvibes)

A little Freudian slip?? :rotfl:

I know what you mean about all the driving. I'm at the kids' social skills group place at least twice a week - usually 3 times during the school year. Zach has group one day, Alex has group another day (Zach sees the social worker for play therapy during that time) then Zach has OT on another day!! I feel like all I do is sit in that waiting room. I now have their wireless code so I can start DISing when I'm sitting there. That should help me get caugh up. :thumbsup2

I agree, she should be part of the fab 5. or 6 as it would be then!

My boys would have been bummed about a rushed goofy, although they are not "into" the characters as much anymore, he is their fav.

I do love the idea of a pre-park opening breakfast......

I am beyond stumped on the picture!

The breakfast was fun - just not as great as some of the others we've done.

I'll fill you in on the mystery picture in a few minutes...
;)

Yay for meeting Daisy! She SHOULD be in the Fab 5, I agree - I think she's the most underrated princess: there!

I'd like to see what a Fandex is too - it sounds neat, but I've never heard of it! :confused3

The picture looks like it belongs at Test Track, but that's not where TH is

I promise fandex pictures tomorrow. Now I just have to remember... :rolleyes1 Tomorrow is Alex's last day of camp - he's doing a 2 week special camp with his "spectrum mentor" through the mental health center around here. He missed half of it last week but it has still been fantastic!!

I'm all caught up!

I agree with Alex...Daisy should be included in the Fab 5. Maybe Alex and I will start a grassroots campaign on this matter. :rotfl:

I just have to say again that your boys are SO cute!

The Teppan Edo meal sounded like a lot of fun. I'm going to have to try that place one of these times!

I love BTMRR at night! So much fun!

Hi Mama!! I'll have to suggest the grassroots campaign to Alex. :rotfl:

I can't say enough good things about Teppan Edo!

BTMRR was awesome - the addition of Wishes made it even more special. :goodvibes

Your early morning at Tusker House looks so peaceful! The park pics! :goodvibes And everyone looks so happy in the restaurant photos -- is Tusker House smaller? It seems so ... the characters look so cute in Safari gear!

Great campaign for Daisy!!! :thumbsup2

I think Tusker House is pretty small... I was looking for the rest of it but never found it. :confused3

Hi Amy! I'm finally all caught up from being gone for 2 weeks....whew! Sounds like your summer is as busy as mine. :scared:

Great Epcot and AK updates. I'm glad you enjoyed your KP adventure! Soory about the meltdown, but they happen and you handled it well!

Teppan Edo looks great! I'll have to put that on the list for our next trip....whenever that might be!

Spectro is an awesome parade...so glad you finally got to see it! I think we sat in a very similar spot and not being able to see the parade coming down the street was my only comment as well!

Cool pics of Wishes from BTMRR! We saw it from Splash, but I didn't get pics. Such a cool way to see it, isn't it?

Thanks for the Tusker House review. We did it when it was Donald's Breakfastosaurus and it was by far our favorite character meal. Too bad the characters were rushed for you. :sad2: That kinda stinks.

We always go back and forth about CP. I'd love to eat there because it's beautiful and the food gets great reviews. But...my boys are really outgrowing Pooh and friends. Hmmm....it's a tough one. Maybe if I can get Jeff to take me on a trip with just the two of us, that would be the time to do it!

Can't wait to hear how you spend this day. popcorn:: The mystery picture remains a mystery to me! :confused3

Yes - busy busy busy... school starts the 31st here and I can't wait! And having both boys at the same school on the same schedule will be amazing! (Zach will get out of kindergarten at 1:30 but at least everything else will be the same for the boys.)

Thanks for all the comments - I know what you mean about CP - I'm going to drag everyone there and I think they'll still enjoy it - but it will definitely have to be on the next trip or I might not be able to pull it off. ;)

:confused3 Amy where are you?

hope you are well and the family...sure you are busy, but miss you :goodvibes

waiting for another Dinosaur ride popcorn::

Scrappie (J-)

I know, I know... I've been home all week and still haven't updated. :sad2: I'm working on it!

glad to know you are OK...I forgot about the trip...hope it was great and the boys had fun w/ their cousins and it made up for WDW let-down.

be waiting for when you have time to get back on the Dis :surfweb:

Working on it...

Hi, Amy!!! Enjoy your last two weeks of summer!

Thanks!! You Southerners go back to school earlier than us, right?? Are you back to work yet?

Hi Amy!! Hope you had a wonderful time with your brother and crew.:dance3:

Enjoy those last 2 weeks of summer with the kids. We're here when you're ready for some more dis time.

We had a great time! I'm working on my next DIS update then I'll post a few pictures from our week at the lake.

Hey Amy,

It's good to here you are ok:goodvibes...I was wondering myself...:thumbsup2...good luck getting the boys ready for school...I'm in total denial until we come back from vacation and then I'm sure I'll get a good hard dose of reality...

Oh no... I totally missed your send off! I'll have to get caught up soon!

The answer to Mystery Picture #21...

Primeval Whirl!

Up Next: Alex's President Fandexes

Yep, my first day back was July 31st, the kids went back August 6th.

I never would have guessed that was Primeval Whirl!!!

Hi! Glad to see you are back! I just returned from two weeks away, too, so I understand that fog you are in!!!

Primeval Whirl!

hmmmmm....

that was a great Mystery Photo!

school starts just around the corner for us (Tuesday) I think I am ready...not sure about the kids. and we must chat about social play therapy....I'll reg. email you on this.

Concerned that Margaret may be showing early signs of social anxiety-selective mutism. She is great at home or at my parents house. But becomes completely shut down when we are out. Wed went to the Field Musuem in downtown Chicago and for the 1st hour and a half she just just layed frozen like in her stroller...there is more too.

a little worried

but back to Disney :goodvibes

can't wait to hear more about your adventures!

Hi Amy!

I'm just back from a little trip to the shore myself... its amazing how hard it is to catch up with all the reports, isn't it??

You are so lucky the boys will be at the same school with the same schedule!! It will make your lives just that much easier! We're stuck with two different school schedules again...

Hmmm. :scratchinWith school around the corner, I'd better start thinking about shopping for school supplies!! That's almost as fun as shopping for travel supplies!!

We are nerds.
We are proud.

Wow! I can't believe how early you go back! J&K in Florida used to go back in early August but it's been late August lately... not sure why??

Primeval Whirl? Wow, good mystery photo! I never would have guessed it.

I know, right?? Pimeval Whirl - it had a lot of odd decoration in the queue.

Hi! Glad to see you are back! I just returned from two weeks away, too, so I understand that fog you are in!!!

I'm no where near caught up... I'm not even going to attempt to get fully caught up until school starts. Can't wait to get caught up with you. Hopefully I'm not too far behind if you've been away too.

Thanks for the email!! I just replied a little while ago. It's funny (well not funny ha ha) - I had never heard of Selective Mutism until a few months ago. I'm pretty sure one of the little boys I used to babysit has been diagnosed with it.

Oh that's right... you're a big fan of school supplies, aren't you?? I remember reading about that back a ways. Happy Shopping!!

As promised, I am posting some pictures of Alex's fandexes. He got the first one (with George Washington on the cover) for his birthday last November. We got him the new one (with Barack Obama) at Epcot. He liked the first one, but didn't get obsessed until he got the new one.

Coming Up: Back to the TR - The rest of our AK morning (last day)
Some interesting run-ins

I'm here also and can't wait to hear more about your trip report.popcorn::

Since it's been a while, I'll re-post our plan for Day 7:
Sunday 5/3
7:15? Bus to Animal Kingdom
8:00 ADR at Tusker House (TS #7)
ride favorites
open park day…
Lunch (CS #6)
Dinner (CS #7)

Sorry – not too many pictures today since we were revisiting favorites & I didn't want to spend too much time behind the camera.

After finishing up our breakfast at Tusker House we checked in with Jeff & Karen. They were up but hadn’t caught a bus to AK yet so it was time for…

DINOSAUR!!

As we made our way there we ran into these guys (with no line):

IMG_3654.jpg

(The kids had no idea who they are. We have the movie but they haven’t watched it for some reason??)

We made our way through the park and jumped on another time rover to head back in time. After we rode, Alex was ready to ride Primeval Whirl again. Here’s the one other picture I took from PW:

IMG_3661.jpg

I rode with him while Tim stayed back at Dinosaur with Zach to explore the gift shop some more. They purchased a remote control time rover – very cool!! I’ll post a picture of it later so I can this post up quickly. They also purchased a fossil. We met up at Expedition Everest and rode once. As soon as we met up with Zach he had been whining about a golden rock that he HAD TO HAVE back at the Dinosaur gift shop. But we continued on…

After we rode “The Yeti” I purchased a sleeveless EE shirt for Alex. Again, I’ll post later.

By now Jeff & Karen had arrived so we tried to catch up with them by the monkeys in Asia. Somehow we kept missing each other?? We finally met up and took a break for some cold drinks. That park is sooo hot!! Zach was really starting to stress about the golden rock. We told him we’d stop by there later and get it but he was really concerned that someone else would get it before we got back there. But we continued on…

This was Karen’s first time at Animal Kingdom – ever – so we decided we had to ride the safari. On our way there, we ran into DiVine!!!!!!!!

Up next: More of Day 7 – sorry no mystery photo – photobucket was acting up last night it took all the patience I had to get the fandex pictures uploaded.

DiVine! She's awesome, I wish we would have seen her. What did your boys think?

The picture of the boys with King Louie and Baloo is soo cute, even if they don't know who the Jungle Book characters are.

Yea for Dinosaur again, but I'm beginning to worry about the golden rock. I hope its still there when you go back!

I pictures are great! We are going to eat Japanese food today. You got me craving it, when you was talking about Teppan Edo..LoL! Especially the pictures of it. We love going there. :cool1:

Dis he get the golden rock or what....:confused3

and just love the pictures of Divine....so awesome, I'd LOVE LOVE to see her one of these days!

this is your last day at Disney on this trip?

looking forward to the rest, but sad for it to end
