You people who are planning your trips right now...

Well let's see.....Booked with AAA at the Beach Club 8/20-8/30.

Working on ADR's right now since I need to call 2/20. :drinking1

Trying to decide on kids cruise (Albatross, GF) pirate: or the adventures in cooking. :stir:

No flight. We are driving :car: as of now unless there's a good deal from SW.

I am checking the boards constantly for new info..I know, I am a Disney planning nut.:mickeyjum

Yes, I also know how lucky I am. We are economizing in every way possible for this trip. No eating out, no splurge purchases, etc etc., but well worth the sacrifice as nothing makes our family happier than a trip to our special place.

We have air and room booked at the CR for Columbus day weekend next October. Right before the 180 window I'll email concierge with our ADR requests. I know we're eating at California Grill the first night, and going to MNSSHP that Sunday night, but haven't decided on anything else yet. I'm already starting to think about a trip for the summer of '07 :rolleyes1

What is MNSSHP? I see it all over the place, but can't figure out what it means?

tks,

My trip is in October, so the only thing booked is the hotel. October 20-25 at POFQ, October 25-28 at WL. However, I do have a notebook full of stuff, such as the likely nights for MNSSHP. And I do have planned which parks we are doing on what days and where and when we are going to eat.

Pepperw23, MNSSHP is MIckey's not so scarry Halloween party. You need to buy a seperate ticket to go, as they close the Magic Kingdom to non-ticket holders. There is trick or treating, a a Halloween parade, and fireworks! pirate: You should check it out!!!

Ohhhh, that sounds fun!! I might just do that. Sounds like a good excuse to go again. :)

As you can see we live for planning our next vacations. :thumbsup2 We just came from a day trip yesterday to get a preview of Expedition Everest. We are packing for our trip to POR in 2 weeks. We are looking forward to BC in March and YC in June. We know we are doing POR for Thanksgiving and working on planning our Oct. stay. We always have plans brewing. :stir: :rotfl2: :disrocks:

We are going for Easter break and I had it all planned a while ago.
We are splitting the stay between the Dolphin and our off site time share condo which allows us to go back a year earlier than planned so it is worth the sacrifice of staying off site for part of the trip.
We got a car for the off site days pretty cheap because DH travels for work and managed to earn points for upgrade.
We got super cheap air fare on Southwest but need to drive to New Hampshire because they dont fly out of Boston and leave at night but this is also well worth it.
We still have some days and water parks on old park hopper but we do need to go get the rest of passes. We wanted to do it before the increase but didnt have money or available credit.
I got my Entertainment book and my Orlando magic card plus my Publix coupons and made my list.We have all of our ADR's.
I got disney Dollars for the kids and I am working on thier Easter baskets. I plan to put all of the stuff I got for baskets inside large zip lock bags.I found cool "basket" shaped gift bags so they will be flat.We have gone several times over Easter and this works pretty well (plus I create gift baskets and sell at fairs as a hobby so this is fun).
I also got a cool planning tool from :guilty: a different Disney board. Intercot has a PC itinerary that you can fill in and printout and it is free. :surfweb: :wizard:

We are going the week after Thanksgiving. I already have our room reservation, our budget, what parks what days, and where we will dine. Haven't made ADR's yet because its not that time yet. I will haven't bought tickets just yet but will when I get the funds.

Going Dec 9th-16th. Staying BWI concierge again :cloud9: amd taking my parents for their first trip ever! I hope they see the magic like I do. I can't wai for them to see it through DD's eyes and get a picture of them on Peter Pan, Pirates, and Small World together with DD right between them! :goodvibes

I'm so glad to know that I'm not the only one who goes into a planning frenzy. We were just there at christmas time for our annual vacation. I was suffering disney withdrawal once we got back :rotfl: Then I realized my job has a meeting there in May!

I'm back to planning for a few extra days after the meeting. DH will come down in after the meeting. I already have my tickets, ADR's and rooms booked. Poly for the first night (concierge) then off to the BWI concierge. :goodvibes

Our first trip in 02 I spent 2 years planning for. This trip (Nov 1-6) I started planning in December, so a much "shorter" amount of time to plan! We are staying at POFQ (stayed at WL last time). Rooms are booked, and bought 10 day non expiring tickets in December for last years prices. Am doing dining plan, and have the restaurants pretty well picked out (in no order- Boma bkfst, BD fantasmic, CP lunch, CG, Citricos, Flame Tree, Kona breakfast, Kona dinner) but no ADR till May. Im using Trip Stalker and my wonderful AAA TA Kristin Bassnett to keep an eye out for a flight from Ohare.

So, planned but am trying to be more easy going this time! Only concerns: hopefully not crowded at that time, especially ending into the weekend before Jersey Week, and dealing with double bed size at hotel.

Yes...We are very lucky. Planning and actually following the plan is great. As you know plans are subject to change without notice.

We are going to be at the World March 24 - April 2nd.

I've got our flight booked through Airtran Airways.
Our Resort schedule is as follows:
March 24th - 26th - AKL
March 26th - 31st - BWV (DVC Points) Boardwalk View
March 31st - April 2nd - GF (I usually can't swallow the GF's rates, but I got a super AP rate and couldn't pass it up).
Our family really enjoys trying the different resorts even if they are shorter stays. I've also tried to plan parks around the resort we are at to avoid extra travel time. For instance when we are staying at AKL I will try and plan an AK visit at the same time. This also applied to our ADRs.

Our Dining ADRs are as follows:
March 25th - Boma Dinner
March 27th - My Disney Girl's Tea Party
March 28th - Grand Adventures in Cooking
March 28th - Cape May Clam Bake
March 31st - Ohana Character Breakfast
March 31st - Concourse Steakhouse
April 1st - Ohana Dinner

If the Toy Story Character Breakfast is offered during our trip I will try to book it. Rumor has it that it will start in April.

Parks:
since we are DVC members and we usually take 2 trips to the World each year my DW, DD and myself have APs. It makes the most financial sense for us.
I take the approach of avoiding parks during the day that have evening EMH. I will go to the park that has EMH during the evening and go to a different park during the day.

Friday, March 24th - Arrive, EPCOT EMH
Satruday, March 25th - AKL AM and Early PM
Sunday, March 26th - MK Evening for EMH
Monday, March 27 - MK PM
Tuesday, March 28th - No parks...Shopping, Pools, etc
Wednesday, March 29th - Disney Studios AM/EPCOT PM
Thursday, March 30th - No parks...Mini Golf, Shopping, Pools
Friday, March 31st - MK AM/EPCOT EMH
Saturday, April 1st - Family Grab Bag, Pick what to do today.
Sunday, April 2nd - Last minute shopping, Depart

I've also planned (SHHHHHH...Don't Tell Anyone) a suprise Sweedish Message for DW at the GF Spa towards the end of the trip.

Things I'm looking forward to:
Expedition Everest - Can't wait to try it.
Staying at the GF - I've never stayed there before. I've only visited several times.
My DDs expression when she goes to the Tea Party
Eating at Ohana - this is my favorite meal at all of WDW.
MK EMH - The MK will be open until 2:00AM.
TTA - I could ride this over and over.
WWTBAM - I love playing this. Still haven't made it to the Hot Seat. I know this is the time it will happen.
RNR - The launch really gets my adrenaline going.

My DH has left me with all the planning ....
We leave on March 3rd - driving.Staying at Disney for 4 days , family for the rest of the 2 week vacation.
He has told me this year he would like our time at Disney to be more spontanious , not so rushed.. play it by ear..( no pun intended..).
How is that possible with dining resevations and only certain parks open for EMH? Has anyone booked multiple dining resevations JUST IN CASE and cancelled that day ?Please help!

We are going May12-19.
Hotels set: ASMu 12-14
BWV 14-19
ADR's made with 2 character meals, one Princess meal. A nice variety of resort restaurants
And a loose itinerary for park hopping, emh, wishes etc. and relaxation this time around!
Next will be park passes and airfare.
102 days to go! :thumbsup2

Well I bought 10 day non expiring passes last year for all my family so if a good deal comes out we're ready to go. After reading all the good things about Christmas in the World I booked us a room only for the week before Christmas. Not sure if we'll actually go, but hey I can work on it and if looks like it's a good year and we can drive down from the north at that time, then hey we're there. If not, well I've got 5 days to cancel my room only to get my deposit back :goodvibes Although winter has been practically non-existent this year, so probably next year it'll be blizards all winter, my luck. :worried:

I dont see how its possible to be ultra spontaneous unless you really dont care about a/possible crowds or b/not a long wait to eat (not counting counter service). If you want to avoid lines and crowds/do EMH (or - avoid EMH if youre using the other theory), you have to plan ahead and decide what park you are going to when. Same with eating- unless you dont mind being a walk in and waiting possibly a long time to be seated, or are eating only counter service, you have to plan ahead with at least SOME ADRs.

Just did our easter trip. Finally bit the bullet and booked southwest. I think its about as good as we will get but I will see if it goes lower. Yest. we booked the swan with the govt. rate and I did all the adrs. might add or change l or 2.

I already have the platinum package booked for September 9-16 for Akl ,flight
is booked also. :thumbsup2 Now just deciding on my adrs. :cool1:

we're (party of 3) going nov 29th-dec 4th already have the contemporary tower booked and airline tickets bought. just waiting for the time to make adrs. however i dont want to wish the time by too fast. want to enjoy the spring and summer weather. :sunny:

Oh, this SO me! I live for the warm weather up here in the northeast; can't get enough spring and summer. And while I'm beyond excited for our WDW trip in the fall :yay: , I also realize that when that time comes, it's November again and winter will soon be upon us... :sad2:

On the flip side, just today I made a printout for what ADRs we want, and the dates I can make that call! We don't do much "fancy" eating - as campers at FW we mostly eat our own food there (budget constraints, don'tcha know...), or have a light lunch out in the parks. This trip we're doing Chef Mickey's on our first morning, to celebrate DS's 10th B-day, and going to try the Ice Cream Social at the Garden Grill a little later in the week. :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 We will be leaving WI on April 25, driving to northern GA, stopping for the night, then arriving at WDW on the 26th. We will be staying at POFQ.

April 27: Epcot day with ADR at LeCellier
April 28: MGM day with ADR at 50's Primetime, but will add or change to the Toy Story meal once I can book it.
April 29: MK day, ADR at CP for breakfast, shopping at DTD later
April 30: AK day, supper at CM and maybe into MK at night
May 1: day of rest after breakfast at PSB
May 2: MK, ADR at LTT
May 3: MK, ADR at CRT for breakfast
May 4: Epcot, dinner at WCC, then into MK at night
May 5: start the drive home (up to No Ga)
May 6: drive rest of way home.

Then come home and plan 2007 trip :thumbsup2
