...and I mean that in the best possible way. :) All of my friends and family think that I am Mr. Disney. I go at least once a year from CT and thought I knew it all. I plan a pretty good trip and never wait in lines, get the ADR's etc... Now I hear about three ring binders, secret paths from SM to MTTF, Bring your laptop to down load pics every night and the list goes on and on.
To use a baseball analogy, I guess that I am in the big leagues with AA skills.
Please don't tell my family if you see us in the park. I will be the average height and weight guy wearing shorts and a T-shirt. :thumbsup2
Take care
Scott

You forgot spreadsheets, Crocs, moleskin, Brita bottles, Dollar store ponchos, connecting rooms at the Values, Annual Passes, ticket brokers, MouseSavers...

lol I have learned alot from these boards too. I just wanted to say you are right up the road from me. I live in oakdale.

LOL! Yes, a binder is essential to planning a great trip. That's the Billy Beane method.

No worries Scoolover, Dis players are brought up and sent down to AAA when they aren't getting enought at bats! I consider this board AAA. This is practice while players can't play in the big leagues at WDW! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I thought they were nuts at first too, but then they dragged me down with them!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

Moleskin? What am I missing? - Oh and forget the connecting rooms at the values, now they have family suites.

:rotfl: aw but where else but the Dis could you have learned to white out the warning on the refillable mug and save a whooping $12 on a $5000 vacation ????

I have a confession to make: When my friend first told me about these boards, I thought I would get on here and share my expertise and wisdom through countless trips since I was a kid in 75.

I got on here and realized I knew nothing!!!

But now I've learned so much. I really appreciate everything I've learned here.

I thought that my DH and I could hang with the big guys. DH brings his laptop with everything on it instead of a three ring binder. I knew about the paint brushes to get extra fast passes, however, I am clueless about the secret paths from SM and MTTF. Somebody let me in on the secret paths so I can still delude myself into thinking that I can hang with the big guys.

And the BODYGLIDE DD wouldn't last a day without that now.

Just when you think you have an inkling they just pile some more on.

The "secret" path just runs between the Indy Speedway and the train tracks. You can see it on the train pretty easily.

OK, now you have to tell me about the paint brush to get extra fast passes. :)

I love the baseball analogies!!

As a kid I always thought my first trip to Florida would be to Disney World! I made my first trip in March of 1992 to Winter Haven, Florida. We landed in Orlando and drove to Winter Haven. No stops at Disney. We did head to Universal to dine at the Hard Rock on night, but that was it.

Finally in 2001, after 6 trips to Florida for Spring Training, I finally made to the House of the Mouse. That was a week long trip that I'll never forget - thanks to my sister's scrapbooking skills. I've made day trips before - always good to have a friend who lives in Orlando so you can fly in for a weekend and make a quick Disney run. And in January my husband and I went together for the first time. (He'd been a few times as a kid, but there was only MK and Epcot back then.)

I learned so much from these boards and then forgot more than I'd learned. But we still had a fantastic trip and talk about going again maybe next year - although our savings account doesn't seem to grow at the same rate as our level of excitement when talking about it.

Oh I know that path. We discovered it by accident and decided it was one of our favorite attractions. It doesn't take much to make us happy.

As for the paint brushes, I'm assuming that they are talking about the one's on the island. (Ok, drawing a blank here - is it Tom Sawyer's Island?) They are referenced in the Passporter and if you spot them, you're supposed to notify a CM. Never knew what the prize was and we never took the boat over there to look for them.

You go to TSI on 1st boat across and look for paintbrushes on the island .When you find 1 (per family) you hand it to the CM raft captian and get a Fastpass for the group.
Sometimes they are hidden well and you can find them later in the day but always on the 1st boat/raft
