I was looking at the show schedules tonight, and found the following

8pm - Fantasmic
9pm - Illuminations
10pm - Wishes

This is the first time they've all been spaced at an hour each for all 3 shows since I started working at WDW, and so I decided I'd try to see all 3 shows. I knew it wouldn't be easy, and I knew that it was probably a crazy idea, but I thought I'd try anyways.

So, for those interested in trying it, here's what I did, in timeline format

7:20 pm - Pull into Epcot Parking Lot
7:23 - Enter Epcot through main entrance, walk quickly towards World Showcase to get to International Gateway entrance
7:30 - exit Epcot at IG, board boat for MGM
7:40 - Get off Boat at Disney's Boardwalk, start walking along path towards MGM
7:52 - Enter MGM main entrance
7:59 - Arrive Fantasmic Stadium, sit in an aisle seat at the very far right of the stadium
8:00 - Fantasmic starts
8:20 - Exit just before finale of Fantasmic, quickly walk to the main exit, and the bus stop to get to Epcot
8:35 - Board bus for Epcot
8:45 - Arrive Epcot main entrance
8:50 - Stop quickly at Guest Relations to confirm that monorail will be running past 10:30
8:57 - secure viewing spot for Illuminations
9:00 - Illuminations begins
9:15 - Illuminations is mostly over, I begin my exit, walking rapidly towards the monorail station
9:25 - Board monorail for TTC
9:35 - Arrive TTC, transfer to MK express monorail
9:45 - Arrive MK
9:50 - Secure viewing spot for Wishes
10:00 - Wishes
10:30 exit MK to Monorail
10:45 - TTC - switch monorails for Epcot
11:00 - Arrive Epcot, walk to parking lot to get my car

Conclusion: Yeah, there was a lot of walking, yes, I was sweating a bit by the end of it, but I got to see 3 great shows in one night, and I had fun. Isn't that (fun) what WDW is all about?

Wow,you're not crazy but you must be in great shape. What a experience to see all 3 in one evening,awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!::yes:: :wave2:

wow! thats cool...on our last trip, we saw Wishes and hi-tailed it over to Epcot to watch Illumnations, but three shows is awesome! one for the record books i'm sure!

Yep, crazy but did sound like fun. Boy oh boy, 3 fun hours of high impact stimulation. Did you loss a pound or two accomplishing your goal? Bet you were tired after.

I don't have a scale in my apartment, but based on the amount of water I had to drink to replenish fluids, I'd say I lost at least a pound or two. Hmm ... maybe I should market this as the new weight loss craze? (Even better than low carb! ;))

Sounds like my kind of night!

Our very first trip to WDW, it was just my DH and I, and we only had 2 days to see it ALL. It was off season, so the shows were not showing both nights. So we basically did what you did! And we got to see ALOT in just 2 days.

Now that we have the kids in tow, that kind of thing just wont work, but man do I like to go commando like that!!!!

WOW!! that does sound like a one-of-a-kind adventure! how cool!

just a quick question... there's a bus between mgm and epcot? all the time or only in the evenings? i thought buses did not run park to park or resort to resort...

thanks!

Yes, there is a bus that runs between MGM and Epcot all the time. You can always go directly from park to park (of course you have to transfer at the TTC when going between Epcot and MK). You are correct that there aren't busses that run between resorts.

why didn't i know that?! LOL!

you mean i can get a bus from epcot to animal kingdom? i really never knew that! LOL!

Busses do not run resort-resort (except for resorts that share a bus, e.g. the 3 All Stars, or the Swan and Dolphin)

Busses run from resorts to open parks on a fairly regular basis (approx. every 20 mins), except Monorail resorts to MK and Epcot. There are also busses that run between the parks (or the TTC if you're going to MK).

Busses will stop running FROM a particular park roughly 1 1/2 hours after park close, but busses will run back TO that park until 1 1/2 hours after the park they're leaving from closes.

Example to clarify the previous paragraph: AK closes at 5, Epcot closes at 9. Busses will stop carrying passengers FROM AK TO Epcot at approx 6:30. However, busses will carry passengers FROM Epcot TO AK until about 10:30pm.

(Disney tries to not run empty busses, so after dropping off at AK, busses may be re-dispatched to one of the resorts before going back to Epcot. For a more thorough explanation of the Disney bus system, and their "Flex Dispatch" system, please look for posts by Chip 'N Dale Express (tyler) over on the transportation board)

Edit to add: For the curious souls, yes, Tinkerbell flew. :)
