My DH just started the overnight shift last week. I totally know what you are talking about. It is amazing how well one sleeps when no one is snoring in your ear all night.
I did my best to "sound" sympathetic when he told me he was going to the night shift though.
He will have it pretty good when we all go back to school. He will have a quiet house all to himself. It is a win/win for everyone.
When he buys you the airplane ticket to go to your parents house and wishes you a fabulous trip and says that he will be glad to take care of the kids!
When he is glad you work a Saturday morning shift so you are not home to nag about the "Saturday morning cleaning routine". And I am glad to work a Saturday morning shift so I don't have to be at home cleaning, even though I invented the routine, LOL!
LOL!! This is so funny!! My DH HATES it when I ask him to hold my purse! He will do it, but complains the whole time, but yet, he will go to the store and buy tampons for me!! But he always buys a few "extras", so he is not just going through the line with tampons!
When he buys you the airplane ticket to go to your parents house and wishes you a fabulous trip and says that he will be glad to take care of the kids!
He gladly drops you off at the bar for girls night - hands you a fistful of cash and says "just call when you need me to pick you up" only because you know he's thinking he's gonna get lucky!
Apparently, I haven't been married long enough to experience most of these. Although, the other day, I did notice my purse hanging off of DH's shoulder some time after I had absent-mindedly passed it to him for a moment. We both just forgot he had it.
