You know you've been married long when...

Some of these responses make me not look forward to being married a long time. BTW we have been married over 17 years, and I really miss him when he isn't in bed with me.

when he takes another weeklong trip for work. :goodvibes The bed to myself, my own schedule, my own meals. :thumbsup2

You keep telling each other the same stories.

I (jokingly!) tell DH we need to separate for a few years and have new experiences so we have new stories to tell each other!

We are currently on deployment # 3-i have a routine that i get in when im alone-when hes not deployed i live for drill weekends-so i can sleep til noon and read til 3 in the morning. Dont get me wrong-i miss him terribly-but you cope by developing routines that are entirely yours and you miss those routines when they come home.

When you speak out loud what the other person has just been thinking. We have been married 38 yrs. and I cannot tell you all how often this happens.

Similarly, when he brings me ice cream without me asking...I was only mentally obsessing about ice cream. Then DH walked up and handed me a cup of ice cream and said "I thought you might want this." He read my mind. :lovestruc

BTW, I don't crave ice cream very often. So, it was not one of the sure bets (like handing me chocolate).

:laughing:A while back DH must have read my mind. He walked in with a DQ sundae right after I had eaten a big bowl of ice cream.:rotfl:

:goodvibes Didja eat it???

when you start out telling him you want something MUCH more expensive than the item you REALLY want, and then agree to "settle" for the cheaper item. (works every time, even though DH knows exactly what I'm doing now!:rotfl:)

When he brought me a snickers bar & a kit kat after I had our third. He couldn't decide which one I'd like better (that was 3 years ago).

when you book a 1 bd suite DVC so one of you can sleep on the pull out in the living room while the other snores!

when your monthly girl's night out get cancelled and he's sad he didn't get the house all to himself all evening.

I'm vegetarian and during the girl's night out DH always enjoys cooking up a ton of meat when I'm gone so this month he missed his meat night!!!

My DH loves fish... salmon especially. I HATE it... can't stand the smell. So he loves for me to have "girls night in" at someone's house so he can cook that nasty stuff.
"Girls Night In" is what my friends and I have... go to someones house to gossip and have a cocktail. More comfy and cheaper than some restaurant!

this is mine too. I have him packed already for 3 days in Va on Wed. I can get the whole house clean while he isn't here!!

....you consider it snuggling in bed when your knees touch

....he automatically hands you the remote when you walk into the tv room
