We tried planting some avocado pits, but the squirrels dug them up. We then tried starting/rooting them in water indoors. We got some to grow over a foot tall, so we planted a couple outside. A few days later, the smallest one was dug up and left for dead, with its pit missing, and a whole crime scene of dirt all over the porch! Squirrels are suspected.
